Abstract

The headband acts (5) directly or indirectly on a contact in the earpiece supply cable; and the contact is closed when the headband is tensioned, pushing down a button (7) and open when it is relaxed, to switch the earphones on and off. An electronic circuit can be mounted in one or both earpieces for reception by radio of 1.f. signals from a radio or t.v. receiver; in such case the contact is inserted into the supply line to the above electronic receiving circuit, and there are no wires connecting the earphones to the radio or t.v. receiver.
