Abstract
The broadband iterative h.f. frequency synthesiser has its oscillator output multiplied (M) to give the h.f. output signal and substractively mixed (M1) with a reference (P) to give a loop control signal. The mixer output is filtered, divided (D2) and passed to a frequency-phase comparator (CPF). A phase comparator (M2) or modulator compares the filter's output with a second reference (Fo-e) to produce a first control signal for the oscillator (O1). This second reference is passed over a second frequency divider (D1) and a controlled frequency divider (D3) to the frequency-phase comparator second input for comparison with its first divider outpot. This comparator control output is coupled over a switch to the oscillator.
