Abstract

The device is of shaped flexible material for insertion in the vagina, while a sole-piece, also of flexible material, retains it in position by bearing on the pubis to limit the amount of penetration. An inflatable balloon is supported in a position such as to compress the urethra. Inflation and deflation can be by means of a tube, with a socket end fitting onto a syringe, or a shutter acting against an auxiliary balloon connected to the main one.
