Abstract

The relative position of the lens optical axis and the pupil of the eye of the wearer, for near and distant vision, is measured by the appts., which comprises a box containing several light sources, mirrors and lenses. The position of the pupil is obtained by viewing the position of its reflection on a screen, and it is recorded on a sheet carrying concentric lines denoting the optical characteristics of the lens. Typically the patterns of concentric lines are squares with common centres and common diagonals.
