Abstract

The low tear strength highly absorbent fibre fleece wadding is backed with a layer of material of min. tear strength of 195 g/cm whose ends extend beyond the wadding and are folded back over to form strong zones at the four corners for the safety pins used to secure the garment. These fold ins are at least 3.2 cm wide and under them the thickness of the wadding is reduced esp. to a surface density of 0.12-0.38 g/cm2 to ease the insertion of the pins and reduce the amt. of fibre pick up by their points. Greater robustness and easier application.
