Abstract
Compsn. useful for treating man and animals comprises 55-65% living dried yeast, 10-35% of mineral powder useful in treating digestive disorders and 5-30% of excipient e.g. maize starch. The unit dose for man is 3-5 g. taken 1-4 times daily for treating colitis, diarrhoea, constipation and disorders of the GI tract after antibiotic the rapy. As a dietetic supplement, the dried yeast is added at the rate of 1 pt. to 100-10,000 pts. of food. Treatment of similar disorders in pigs, calves and poultry is similar with a suitable dosage. Calves require 20-60 g of yeast daily. Prepd. by mixing the fresh yeast, mineral powder and excipient, granulating and air-drying at 30-37 degrees C.
