Abstract

In cordless telephone equipment comprising a pair of units consisting of a base unit (51) and a handset (1) and in which the traffic between a pair is possible solely on the basis of interchanged individual codes, the function of storing the code data in the two units of a pair is implemented. For this purpose, these data are initially stored by means of a programming device only in the base unit (51). At a later time, by means of a special manipulation of the base unit carried out simultaneously at both the units, these data are transmitted to the handset and also stored there. This transmission is preferably carried out predominantly by using the same circuitry as will operate later for initiating normal calls. <IMAGE>
