The present invention relates to a device for massaging the limbs of the body, such as the legs, and to activating fluid flows, which device consists of successive annular, interconnected elastic sheath bags arranged around the foot and subjected to pressures provided by a pressure source and a medium.

Such a known device is disclosed, for example, in Finnish patent application 322/69. A disadvantage of known devices of this kind is that it is very cumbersome and requires complex valve devices to control the pressure by means of valves so as to produce an upward massive force in the legs.

The object of the invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks. The device according to the invention is characterized in that the intermediate space formed by the diaper bags and the foot is also connected to a pressure source, whereby The invention thus provides a two-part jacket structure around the limb, which is alternately exerted by an upward massive force, i.e. two parallel pressure waves. Another embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the medium is cooled or heated air as required. A further preferred embodiment of the invention is further characterized in that the pressure source is a cushioned walking pump under the foot.
