Abstract

A cordless telephone has, in its handset unit, a loudspeaker which is driven from the handset's receiver 10 which loudspeaker replaces or is additional to the earpiece. The base unit 1-6 includes a speech-actuated switch which enables one or other of the speech channels, dependent on speech levels in those channels. The switch comprises two gating amplifiers 4,5 and a switch arrangement 6.
