Abstract

A machine which operates by means of money or a part of said machine, such as a video game, a machine for playing games, an amusement machine with payment, a vending machine or a machine for providing change, provided with a memory 10 for recording the amount of money supplied to it and paid out or withdrawn from it. In one embodiment, it is possible to remove the money by opening, for this purpose, a door 8, 16 in the secure cabinet 1 which houses the game, the opening of the door being recorded in the memory in order to give an indication of the amount of money available for withdrawal. In another embodiment, use is made of a payment device 13 provided with a motor, by means of which it is possible to pay out all or part of the money contained in the machine to an authorized person, when security means actuated by key, code or card are activated without said person needing to obtain access to the money which is inside the machine. Preferably, included in the machine is a printer for providing a printed record of the money withdrawn from the machine at the time of its withdrawal and a historical record, at a later date, of the machine's money production. The machine may either be enclosed in a single housing which provides the secure cabinet or enclosure 1, or may be made in two parts, one part which houses the coin- handling equipment, with its memory 10, and the other part which houses the amusement part of the machine, the two parts being connected together for operation.
