Abstract
A two-dimensional image tube for apparatuses comprising a source of scanning signals and a source of signals of image intensity, said image tube being characterized by the combination of an electron source, a channel-type electron multiplier having a plurality of of channels, means for directing the electrons leaving said source to said electron multiplier, means for receiving the electron output of said electron multiplier and converting it into a visible image, means associated with said electron multiplier to produce an output of electrons from successive portions of the total area on the output side of said electron multiplier in response to the scanning signals coupled thereto and means for controlling the intensity of the electron outputs of said successive portions in response to said intensity signals of image.
