The characterized optical currency detection lock comprises:

1. Lock with optical currency detection characterized by comprising:

insertion means (1) configured to receive a coin (2);

interaction means that transfer the access information received from the outside to a control module;

•

detection means (4) comprising an optical sensor configured said sensor to emit light and to receive the light from the reflection of the light emitted on the coin (2);

the retention means (5) that activated by the control module retain the coin (2) on the detection means (4), and that, activated by the movement of a lever (3), release the retained coin (2) on the detection means (4);

•

a control module that manages the information received by the interaction means and by the detection means (4);

•

mechanical means activated by the control module and in charge of making the physical opening and closing of the lock;

a feeding means that feeds the interaction means, the detection means (4) and the control module.
