Abstract

System for detecting and entering the price and number of articles placed in a receptacle. This can be applied to trolleys used for shopping in hypermarkets and the like. The trolley contains the following: a bar code reader 1, a means of measuring the dimensions 12 of the product in the area corresponding to the bar code, and a means of measuring the weight 6 of the products. It has a central processing unit 8 that determines the weight, dimensions and price and checks whether these three parameters correspond to the same product, in which case it validates the introduction of the product and enters it together with its price, obtaining the value of the products purchased, shown in a display 9, limiting the cashier to collecting the total amount, thus avoiding queues forming at the check-out. <IMAGE>
