Description

Domaine techniqueTechnical area

The present invention relates to the problem of access control, payment and the location of users in leisure parks, in particular ski resorts or amusement parks.

Etat de la techniqueState of the art

Many ski resorts and amusement parks use RFID elements, for example transponders integrated into a smart card or a watch, for access control and access payment. Users who wish to ski must purchase an RFID element and charge it with a monetary amount to gain access to the facilities. Payment is most often made in advance, by preloading the card with a prepaid amount which is debited according to time (for example by the hour or by the day), or by controlling each access to the facilities by means of '' an RFID reader near each access gate.

These systems operate reliably and economically. However, conventional RFID readers have a very short range, typically of the order of a few centimeters or a few meters. They therefore only make it possible to detect users in the immediate vicinity of the access control terminals, but not to locate them when they are far from the installations.

Payment and access control systems for leisure park facilities are also known which use users' smartphones for both payment and user access control. These systems most often require user intervention via an application and the touchscreen interface of the smartphone; handling a smartphone in a ski resort or with gloves on, however, is inconvenient. As not all users have access to a smartphone, and in any case not to a smartphone capable of running the required application, another access control system must be provided for other users, for example a system based on smart cards. Each access control terminal must therefore be provided with a first interface for communicating with smartphone users, for example a Bluetooth type interface, and with a second interface for reading smart cards.

Bref résumé de l'inventionBrief summary of the invention

An aim of the present invention is to provide a device, a system and a method for controlling access, payment and location of users in a leisure park free from the limitations of known solutions.

According to the invention, these aims are achieved in particular by means of a personal access control device in a leisure park, for example in a ski area or an amusement park, comprising the characteristics of independent claim 1.

In one embodiment, the user identifier may be stored in memory.

In one embodiment, the user identifier can be used for identification both through the active RFID circuit, the wireless interface and the Wi-Fi interface.

In one embodiment, the active RFID circuit can communicate in a frequency band around 125KHz.

In one embodiment, the wireless interface can communicate in a frequency band around 13.56MHz.

In one embodiment, the wireless interface is intended to communicate via the nfc protocol.

In one embodiment, the device is located by trilateration or triangulation.

The device is preferably arranged to allow communication through said active RFID circuit with access control terminals of various installations of the park in order to verify the presence of the user near these terminals, based on said identifier.

This solution has the particular advantage of allowing access control by means of conventional RFID access terminals. These access terminals can also be used to read conventional active or passive RFID transponders, for example smart cards or watches provided with an RFID tag. Thus, the device can be deployed in existing leisure parks equipped with access control terminals operating with conventional wireless smart cards. The deployment of this solution can thus be carried out with a minimum of costs.

This device can also be used as a means of payment, thanks to its wireless interface, for example of the nfc type. For this purpose, it can for example exchanging payment data with payment terminals, for example ticket dispensing offices.

It is for example possible to load through the nfc interface a prepaid amount in the device, and to debit this amount according to the access to the installations as detected by the access terminals.

This solution also has the advantage of allowing each user to be located in the leisure park, for example in a ski area.

This localization is carried out using Wi-Fi signals emitted by Wi-Fi hotspots, which have wide coverage and are available at low cost.

This location can be transmitted to the users themselves, for example to navigate in the leisure park, or to find friends, family members, or other visitors.

This location can be transmitted to the operator of the leisure park, for example for statistical counting purposes or to optimize queue management.

This location can also be transmitted to third parties, for example restaurants, shops or car park operators associated with the leisure park, in order to optimize user management.

The autonomy of the battery between two recharges is preferably greater than one week.

In order to achieve this objective, the device includes a standby circuit in order to reduce its power consumption when not in use.

According to the invention, the standby circuit comprises a sensor, a shock sensor, or an inertial sensor such as an accelerometer or a gyroscope, and is arranged to put the device on standby after a period of immobility and to wake him up after a trip.

In one embodiment, this standby circuit comprises a clock circuit and is designed to put the device on standby at certain times of the day, for example during the closing hours of the leisure park.

In this embodiment, the magnetic field injected by a terminal into a well-defined volume will make it possible to wake up the device.

The magnetic field can be modulated in such a way that unique information is received by the device.

The device can be arranged to transmit this information and / or its identity via WiFi to a server. It is the server that is ultimately able to determine whether the user of the device is allowed to pass.

Communication between the terminal and the device by active RFID technology can be unidirectional. In this case, the active RFID circuit can act as a simple receiver of the signals emitted by the terminals.

In a preferred embodiment, the location of the devices comprises a step during which at least one parameter associated with each Wi-Fi signal received by a device of at least one Wi-Fi hotspot is measured, preferably by means of 'at least three Wi-Fi terminals. This parameter can be for example the amplitude of the signal, the arrival time of the signal, its phase, the reception angle, etc. The combination of the parameters determined from the signals received from the different terminals allows the device to be located by triangulation or trilateration.

A rough location can also be done using a single Wi-Fi hotspot, or two hotspots.

In one embodiment, the parameters of the Wi-Fi signals determined in each device are transmitted to a central server, which is responsible for calculating the location.

The device is electrically autonomous, thanks to an on-board battery.

The device is preferably intended to be housed in the pocket. Its volume is preferably less than that of a pack of cigarettes.

The use of a unique identifier makes it possible to establish a direct relation between the accesses of a user and the amount to be debited from his device, for example.

The subject of the invention is also a method for controlling access, payment and positioning of users in a leisure park, in particular a ski area or an amusement park, comprising the steps of independent claim 8.

  • une pluralité de dispositifs tels que décrits plus hauts;
  • une pluralité de bornes d'accès munies d'une interface RFID pour la détection de présence des dits dispositifs à proximité de ces bornes ou pour les réveiller;
  • au moins une borne de paiement sans fil dans une bande de fréquence au-dessus de 10MHz afin d'échanger des données de paiement avec lesdits dispositifs;
The subject of the invention is also an access control system in a leisure park, for example in a ski area or an amusement park, comprising:
  • a plurality of devices as described above;
  • a plurality of access terminals provided with an RFID interface for detecting the presence of said devices near these terminals or for waking them up;
  • at least one wireless payment terminal in a frequency band above 10MHz in order to exchange payment data with said devices;
  • a plurality of Wi-Fi terminals arranged in said park so that at least one place in the park a device receives a signal originating from at least one Wi-Fi terminal, so as to allow the location of the device.

The system is advantageously compatible with wireless smart cards used by users without a device. To this end, the system comprises a plurality of smart cards provided with RFID transponders and arranged to communicate with said access terminals in order to control the access of users provided with these cards.

The system can in particular be implemented in a leisure park whose installations do not have a gantry. Access points are then only intended to count the uses of these facilities by users. Billing may depend on usage.

Exemple(s) de mode de réalisation de l'inventionExample (s) of embodiment of the invention

The figure 1 schematically illustrates a system according to the invention. In this example, the system is deployed in a ski area as an example of a leisure park. Other amusement parks, including amusement parks, vacation clubs, outdoor festivals, etc. may implement the system.

The leisure park 1 has several installations, here ski lifts 60. Access to each installation is controlled by an access control terminal 40. Access control may involve controlling the opening of a gantry giving access to it. access to the facility. In a preferred embodiment, at least some installations can be accessed without going through a gantry. Access control then aims to control which user has accessed which installation at what time, and / or to transmit an indication when an unauthorized user is near the access control terminal. In this case, the access control terminal can for example be used to detect and identify the users located in a determined volume, for example in a queue.

Each access control terminal 40 comprises in particular an RFID interface (transmitter or transmitter) capable of communicating with RFID transponders in the devices 1 of the users, or in smart cards 3 provided with such a transponder.

La même interface RFID dans chaque borne de contrôle d'accès 40 peut lire à la fois des transpondeurs actifs et des transpondeurs passifs.RFID transponders in devices 1 are active transponders, that is, they are powered by the energy supplied by a battery 4 in device 1. RFID transponders in smart cards can be transponders. active or passive. The same RFID interface in each access control terminal 40 can read both active and passive transponders.

Reference 41 indicates the perimeter around each access control terminal 40 in which active RFID transponders can be read. This perimeter is typically a few centimeters or a few meters. The detection of the presence of a user in this perimeter makes it possible to determine that he is using the installation associated with the access control terminal.

The access control terminal emits an RFID signal, for example in a frequency range of 125KHz, which can be received by the active transponders when they are in the perimeter 41. The RFID signal received is preferably modulated in a manner transmitting a control terminal identification. The device 1 which receives such a signal when it is in the perimeter 41 reacts by transmitting this terminal identification as well as a user identifier 80 to a server 70 which verifies the authorization of the user.

The system further comprises a plurality of Wi-Fi terminals 50 (“hotspots”) which each emit a Wi-Fi signal received by devices 1 in a perimeter 51 around the terminal. The Wi-Fi signal is preferably at 2.4GHz for maximum range. The terminals 50 are sufficiently close together so that at least certain regions of the leisure park simultaneously receive the signal from at least three terminals, or more. Advantageously, the entire perimeter of the leisure park, or the majority of this area, receives a signal from at least three separate Wi-Fi terminals, so as to allow the devices 1 to be located by triangulation and / or trilateration. The range of each outdoor Wi-Fi 50 hotspot is typically a few hundred meters. A few tens or hundreds of terminals are enough to completely cover a large-area ski area.

In another embodiment, the location is performed by means of a single Wi-Fi terminal, optionally with a measurement of the amplitude of the signal received. This already makes it possible to determine whether the device is in the area covered by the Wi-Fi zone, and to estimate the distance at which it is from this terminal.

The system 1 also comprises at least one payment terminal 30 provided with a wireless interface in a frequency band above 10 MHz, for example an interface in a frequency band around 13.56 MHz, for example an interface according to the nfc (“near-field communication”) protocol. This interface makes it possible to exchange monetary data with devices 1 in the immediate vicinity. The nfc interface covers an area 31 with a typical diameter of a few centimeters or tens of centimeters around the payment terminal 30. The monetary data transmitted can for example make it possible to load a prepaid amount into the device, or to debit an account of debit or credit account associated with the device depending on the use of the leisure park facilities. In one embodiment, the payment terminal makes it possible to introduce cash or a credit or debit card, in order to recharge the device.

Each user 1 of the park is provided either with a device 1 according to the invention, or with a conventional RFID circuit, for example a wireless smart card. Possession of a device 1 or an RFID circuit preloaded with a prepaid amount gives access to the park and to the park's facilities. In one embodiment, access to at least some portions of the park leisure facilities, or at certain facilities in this park, require opening a gantry by presenting a charged RFID device or circuit. In another embodiment, the park does not have a gantry and controllers monitor the possession of loaded devices 1, for example by monitoring indicators which signal the presence of devices 1 in a zone 41, for example a queue.

The various terminals 40, 50 and 60 of the system communicate via an Ethernet or Wi-Fi interface with the server 70 which manages users, their location, payments, and queues in the park. The server can be made up of one or more physical or virtual machines. It can generate reports for the fleet manager.

The figure 2 schematically represents an example of device 1 according to the invention. It may be in the form of a housing, for example a housing with a volume smaller than that of a cigarette pack. The case is intended to be put in the pocket. It is advantageously waterproof. The exterior of the housing may include an optional charging socket, for example a micro-USB or mini-USB or USD type C socket. In order to reduce cost, bulk and power consumption, the housing is preferably devoid of 'display, apart from the status LED indicators 22, and any touch-sensitive data entry device, apart from an on-off button 24. An optional Bluetooth interface can be provided for updating and / or for communicating with a Nearby user device, such as a user's smartphone or tablet, used as a data entry and display terminal.

The interior of the housing comprises an electronic circuit preferably mounted on a printed circuit, not shown. The circuit comprises a low consumption microprocessor 6, for example an ARM processor, accessing a memory 8. The memory 8 can include a semi-permanent memory, for example a Flash memory, and a volatile memory of the RAM type. A portion of the memory 80 makes it possible to store a unique user identifier, making it possible to distinguish between the user who owns the device 1 of all other users. This identifier is preferably used both for access control initiated via the RFID interface, for the location of the user via the Wi-Fi interface, and for payments via the nfc interface.

The processor 6 and the other components of the device 1 are powered by a battery 4, advantageously a rechargeable battery, for example a Lithium-ion or Lithium-Polymer battery. The autonomy of the battery 4 is preferably greater than a week of normal use.

The device 1 further comprises an active RFID circuit 10 powered by the battery 4 and controlled by the processor 6, in order to exchange data with an access control terminal 40. The RFID circuit can comprise means for identifying the device. device, preferably with the identity stored in memory location 80, or with another identity. An anti-collision module can be provided in the RFID circuit 10 and / or in the access control terminal 40 in order to manage the data collision problems between several devices 1 in a reading zone 41. In a preferred embodiment, this module is however replaced by unidirectional communication from the access control terminal 40 to the device 1, which minimizes the risk of collision.

A cryptographic module can be provided to secure the communication between the RFID circuit and the access control terminal 40.

As mentioned above, the active RFID circuit 10 makes it possible in particular to initiate a user authentication process when he is with his device in the perimeter 41 around an access control terminal 40; the detection of a signal from the terminal then initiates the sending of the identity of the access control terminal 40 and of the identifier of the device 1 to the server 70 which identifies the user, and verifies or debits his account .

The user identification is used by the server 70 to open an access portal, to check the presence of authorized or unauthorized users in perimeters 41, and / or to bill for this presence. This information can also be used by the server 70 to optimize the use of the park, in particular by managing the queues and the distribution of users over the various infrastructures.

The active RFID circuit 10 can also, or alternatively, be used in order to wake the device from a standby mode when it is in or near the leisure park, in order to then be able to identify or locate it.

Some users may be provided with a passive transponder, for example in smart card format, which makes it possible to signal to the access terminals the presence of a user identified in the associated access zone 41.

The device 1 also comprises a wireless interface 12 in a frequency band above 10 MHz, for example 13.56 MHz, for example an interface according to the nfc protocol. This interface is intended to communicate with the payment terminal 30 in order to exchange payment data, for example in order to recharge a monetary amount associated with the device, or to debit it as the infrastructures are used.

This communication channel makes it possible, on the one hand, to exchange data. with the server 7 or other Internet sites, for example for updates to the device 1, or for other value-added services. The Wi-Fi interface further comprises a circuit (not shown) for measuring, at several given instants, a physical parameter of all the Wi-Fi signals received at this instant. The measured parameter can be for example the amplitude of the Wi-Fi signal, its phase, possibly the time of reception (which allows the flight time to be determined from terminal 50), etc. This parameter is advantageously transmitted by Wi-Fi to the server 70 (or to a dedicated server) in order to determine by triangulation or trilateration the location of the device 1.

In a variant, the location could also be carried out by the device itself, but this requires on the one hand a greater consumption of energy on the part of the device, and on the other hand an update in each device 1 the locations of active Wi-Fi hotspots.

This localization is preferably carried out at regular intervals, for example every 5 minutes, at the request of the device 1. The localization can also be triggered by various events detected in the device 1, for example the starting of the device 1, its exit from a standby mode, and / or a movement detected by the inertial sensor 18 or a shock sensor, described below. On-demand location, triggered by the server 70 or by the user, can also be performed.

In order to reduce the electrical consumption of the device 1 and to increase its autonomy, it advantageously comprises a standby circuit 16 which makes it possible to put at least some components of the device 1 into total or partial standby when certain standby conditions are met. To this end, the device 1 advantageously comprises a sensor 18 already mentioned, for example an impact sensor, or an inertial sensor such as an accelerometer and / or a gyroscope, to detect the movements of the device. The device 1 can be put on standby after a prolonged period of immobility, for example after 5 minutes of immobility. It can be awakened by an interruption generated by the sensor 18 in the event of displacement of the latter, or of displacement of amplitude above a threshold, or with sufficient acceleration. As indicated, it can also be woken up by the active RFID circuit 10 when the device 1 is in the perimeter 41 for receiving an RFID signal emitted by an access control terminal 40. For this purpose, the active RFID circuit 10 can be activated, at least intermittently, even when the rest of the device is on standby.

The standby circuit can also be put on standby by a clock circuit 20. Standby can for example be automatic when the leisure park is closed. The clock circuit can also put the device 1, or certain components of this device, on intermittent standby even during the periods when it is in use. For example, it is possible to put the processor 6 on standby, or at least in reduced consumption mode, then to wake it up with periodic cycle times between 30 and 120 seconds.

It is also possible to put the device on standby on days when it is not in use, for example as long as no access near an access control terminal 40 is detected.

A standby and / or wake-up button may also be provided on the housing of the device 1.

The device can integrate security means. In one embodiment, a photo of the user is stored in the memory 8, which can be displayed near the access control terminal or by a controller equipped with a suitable reader, in order to ensure that a device containing a personal subscription is used by the correct user.

The use of the device, for example to program it or to load functions, can be protected by a password entered for example in a connected device, for example a smartphone. Certain data stored in the memory, for example electronic keys, can also be encrypted.

During normal use of the device 1, the user moves to a payment terminal 30 in order to load a prepaid amount into his device, or to consult the available balance. This balance can advantageously also be displayed on a device connected to the device 1. In one embodiment, recharging by Internet, for example via the Wi-Fi interface, can also be carried out.

The user then accesses the leisure park, for example the ski area, of which he uses the facilities 60. His device 1 is then put out of standby as soon as an RFID signal is received from one of the access control terminals 40. , or by another event such as detection of shock, displacement, or periodically.

When the user enters the perimeter 41 near an access control terminal 40, he receives via the active RFID interface 10 the identity of this terminal, which he transmits with his identification 80 to the server 70. This server checks the user's right to access the installation near zone 41, and possibly debits the user's monetary account. Access can also be checked for statistical purposes or queue control, for example.

When he is outside the reading perimeter 41 of the access control terminals 40, the user is located periodically, or on demand, thanks to the Wi-Fi signals received throughout the park from several Wi-Fi terminals 50 spread throughout the park. The location information is determined by the server 70 operated by the park manager, or by a third party offering this location service.

This location can be made available to the user himself in order to enable him, for example, to find his way around the park. It is also possible for him, for example, to determine the position of his friends or family members who have given him this authorization. The user's position can for example be displayed on a map presented on the display 22 of the device, or on a smartphone or other terminal connected via the Internet to the server 70.

This location can also be made available to the operator of the leisure park in order to enable him to manage the movements of users according to the day or the season, and to adapt his offer accordingly. The park operator can also bill for use according to this location, for example by depending on the distance covered by a skier in the ski area. This location also allows it to locate users who move away from the area, for example to ski off-piste. In one embodiment, the location displayed for the operator of the park can be anonymized, for example by replacing the user's identity with an alias.

This location can also be made available to providers of ancillary services, for example restaurants, bars, car parks or other providers in the leisure park. This information allows them, for example, to adopt their offer and / or their prices according to demand or expected demand depending on the location of users. The location displayed for the operator of the park is preferably anonymized, for example by replacing the user's identity with an alias.

The server 70, or another server managed by the operator of the leisure park or by another entity, can also manage a loyalty program. Loyalty points can for example be distributed according to the monetary amounts loaded into the device. In one embodiment, loyalty points can be distributed according to the location or the trajectory traveled by a user. For example, loyalty points can be awarded to a user who has traveled a minimum distance per day, who has used a certain number of facilities, and / or visited the facilities of external providers.

The server 70 can also manage a profile of each user, associating with each user more complete data than those stored in his device. This profile may for example include bibliographic data (name, first name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, payment details, etc.); preferences (preferred payment method, preferred facilities, language, etc.), transaction and travel history, etc.
