Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector, comprising a contact carrier with at least one contact chamber, wherein in the contact chamber arranged at the end of an electrical line contact partner is arranged, according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- Connectors for making an electrical connection for example, between two cables have a connector which is brought into operative connection with a mating connector.
- Connectors and mating connectors have mutually associated contact partners, which are arranged at the end of electrical lines to form a plug connection and thus an electrical contact after mating the connector with the mating connector. If connectors and mating connectors are arranged at the end of electrical lines (cables), they can move freely, for example, in their installation space. Instead, it is also conceivable to integrate, for example, the connector in a housing wall of an electronic device in the form of a socket in which the mating connector is inserted to fix the position of the connector.
- the connector must first be handled independently of the space and its positional fixation (For example, during its manufacture), but it must be flexible if it is to be mated with the mating connector.
- the invention is therefore based on the object, a connector that can be plugged together with a mating connector to a connector, which is flexible in terms of its installation in the space, but can also be fixed in its position.
- a mounting rocker is provided on the connector, wherein the connector is mounted with the mounting rocker on a base. This makes it possible to first produce the connector independently of the mounting rocker. The same applies to the mounting rocker itself, which is manufactured independently of the connector. After making the connector and the rocker, these two components are brought together so that the connector is mounted to a base with the mounting rocker.
- the connector is movable relative to the mounting rocker, in particular korbewegbar, is arranged on this, on the one hand the connector is mounted on the base (fixed in its space in its position), but can also be moved at the same time when it is mated with the mating connector .
- the mounting rocker and the relative movement of the connector to the specified mounting rocker is particularly advantageous if is moved during the mating of the connector with the mating connector of the mating connector relative to the fixed in the space connector. This means that in the mating process or even thereafter the specified via the mounting rocker on the base connector movement understand the mating connector and can join.
- This tracing the movement of the mating connector through the connector is particularly advantageous if the connector is attached via the mounting rocker to the base of an at least two-part component and the mating connector is disposed on a further part of the component. If the at least two parts of the component brought together, for example by a pivoting movement, the connector, which is arranged on the one part of the component, during and / or after mating with the mating connector to understand the movement of this mating connector. As a result, the plug-in connection is advantageously plugged together at the same time by the assembly of the at least two parts of the component.
- the connector is fixed to the base. Because of its relative mobility with respect to this base, to which it is fixed, a self-locating connector can be realized in that when assembling a component which consists of two elements or more elements, the one (ie at least one further) element, on which the mating connector is attached, can be guided in the direction of the first element, wherein in this merging of the mating connector is inserted into the connector.
- the further element of the component with the mating connector can be moved relative to the first element of the component, in particular pivoted, which is only possible by the mounting rocker with which the connector is fixed to the base.
- the component is, for example, an exterior mirror of a vehicle, which consists of a support (first element of the exterior mirror, also referred to as Spiegelchssis) and an outer cap (second element of the exterior mirror, also referred to as an outer housing, which may have a turn signal, which the connector is powered) consists.
- the connector is arranged latching on the mounting rocker.
- the connector can be arranged via the mounting rocker in at least two or more positions, preferably exactly two positions, with respect to the base.
- the first position is, for example, a pre-locking position that is set when the connector is assembled with the mounting rocker. If the two parts have been assembled to the component and thereby the plug connection has been realized, the connector is in the further, in particular in the second position, for example, end position.
- the connector is fixed at any time in a defined but variable position relative to the mounting rocker and thus also relative to the base.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 In principle, the connector according to the invention and two of its layers is shown relative to the mounting rocker.
- FIGS. 4 to 8 the components of the connector according to the invention and its assembly are shown.
- the Figures 9 and 10 show the definition of the erfindungsmä in connector to an at least two-part component.
- FIGS. 11 to 17 relate to the individual components of the connector according to the invention and their assembly.
- FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a connector 1 according to the invention, which can be plugged together with a mating connector, not shown, to form a plug connection.
- the connector 1 has a contact carrier 2 which is movably arranged on a mounting rocker 3. At one end of the contact carrier 2, at least one electrical line, here two electrical lines 4, emerges from the contact carrier 2. There are also more than two electrical Lines 4 conceivable.
- the plug-in area (mating face) of the contact carrier 2 shown in this plug-in area with recesses, chamfers, grooves and the like is exemplary and can depending on the application (position, coding) or geometry of the Mating connector can be changed.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 two positions of the connector 1 are shown, with which it can be set via the mounting rocker 3 to a base 5.
- a first position pre-locking position
- the contract carrier 2 is employed via the mounting rocker 3 at an angle alpha to the base 5.
- a second position end position
- the longitudinal axis which passes through the contact carrier 2, as far as possible parallel or exactly parallel to the base 5 is aligned.
- FIGS. 4 to 8 the individual components of the connector 1 and a mounting sequence are shown.
- FIG. 4 shows the contact carrier 2 as a one-piece component. Such a component can be produced, for example, in a plastic injection molding process.
- a component can be produced, for example, in a plastic injection molding process.
- the at least one pin 7 corresponds to a receiving opening 8 of the mounting rocker 3.
- On the details of pin 7 and receiving opening to 8 for the realization of the locking 6 will be discussed.
- the contact carrier 2 has according to the number of electrical lines 4 contact chambers 9.
- FIG. 5 shows a wiring harness with two electrical lines 4, at the end of each a contact partner 10 is arranged.
- Each contact partner 10 has a crimp connection 11, by means of which the contact partner 10 consisting of an electrically conductive material is electrically contacted with an electrical conductor of the line 4 and mechanically fixed.
- FIG. 6 shows that the wiring harness according to FIG. 5 is arranged in the contact carrier 2.
- the contact partners 10 are determined in their associated contact chamber 9 in the contact carrier.
- the in FIG. 6 illustrated and equipped contact carrier 2 already be brought into operative connection with the mounting rocker 3. However, this is not yet protected against external influences such as water or moisture.
- FIG. 7 show that an encapsulation 12 is provided, which is arranged in the region with which the connector is not brought into operative connection with its mating connector.
- a Seal in particular a lip seal 13 is provided, which seals the finished connector 1 against the mating connector when these two connectors have been plugged together to form the connector.
- the seal in particular the lip seal 13, is formed by the encapsulation 12. It is also conceivable that the encapsulation 12 is continued in the direction of the region in which the electrical leads 4 have emerged from the contact carrier 2.
- the encapsulation 12 seals on the cable sheath of each electrical line 4, so that this area is longitudinally watertight. It is particularly advantageous if the encapsulation 12 surrounds the rear part of the contact carrier 2 including the cable outlet region with the recess of the two pins 7 and at the same time forms the lip seal 13. Such an encapsulation 12 takes place with a material which is softer with respect to the material of the contact carrier 2. This extrusion coating 12 can be realized in a two-component plastic injection molding process.
- FIG. 8 shows the partially overmolded and assembled contact carrier 2, as it is fixed by means of its pin 7 on the mounting rocker 3.
- the mounting rocker 3 a mounting bracket 14 (see also FIG. 4 ), wherein this mounting tab 14 is a planar portion with a cutout (for example, a rectangular cutout) of the mounting rocker 3.
- the mounting rocker 3 defined on the component 5 can be defined.
- the component 5 a projection (for example, a latching hook), which can engage in the recess in the mounting bracket 14.
- the mounting rocker 3 is defined defined on the component 5. This means at the same time that the contact carrier 2 due to the latching 6 on the mounting rocker 3 in exactly two positions (or possibly more than two positions) relative to the base 5 is defined defined.
- FIG. 9 shows the state that the previously described connector 1 is determined by means of its mounting rocker 3, in particular with the aid of the mounting bracket 14, to the base 5 of a first part of a component.
- the receiving area on the base 5 for receiving the mounting rocker 3 is designed accordingly. It can be seen that the receiving region of the base 5 has two mutually parallel guides into which the mounting rocker 3, more precisely its mounting tab 14 can be inserted (in the arrow direction). If this is done, the opening of the mounting tab 14 is pushed over a corresponding projection in the receiving area of the component 5, so that the mounting tab 3 is fixed detent on the base 5.
- the base 5 is for example part of a mirror chassis 15 of an exterior mirror of a vehicle, wherein the mirror chassis 15 with an outer shell (not shown here) can be assembled to a finished exterior mirror of a vehicle.
- the outer shell of the exterior mirror includes a turn signal that needs to be powered. Accordingly, the outer shell comprises a mating connector whose contact partners are connected to the light source of the turn signal. If the outer shell of the outside mirror is assembled with the mirror chassis 15, the connector shown 1 and the existing on the outer shell, but not shown mating connector of the electrical contact and thus the power supply of the illuminant of the exterior mirror.
- FIG. 10 the state is shown that the connector 1 by means of the mounting rocker 3 on the base 5 of the mirror chassis 15 (or another part another component).
- the contact carrier 2 is in relation to the mounting rocker 3 and thus also with respect to the base 5 in an inclined angle alpha (see FIG. 2 ).
- the contact carrier 2 is always not only in a defined position with respect to the mounting rocker 3, but also with respect to the base 5, for example with respect to the mirror chassis 15, since the mounting rocker 3 in a defined position is arranged to this base 5.
- This gives very high reproducibility accuracies in the assembly of the plug-in connection and thus the assembly of the at least two parts to a finished component (for example exterior mirrors).
- the Figures 11 and 12 show the contact carrier 2, after it has been manufactured as a component and surrounded by the encapsulation 12. It can be seen that the contact carrier 2 in the plug-in region (facing away from the cable outlet region) has a chamfer 16, which makes it easier to insert the contact carrier 2 with its mating face into the mating connector.
- the respective pin 7 protrudes from the main body of the contact carrier 2 and comprises in this embodiment a web 17 and a further pin 18.
- one of the contact carrier 2 protruding pin 7 has a larger diameter than the other pin 18, wherein the web 17 emanates from the surface of the pin 18 and facing away from the contact carrier 2 end face of the pin 7.
- FIG. 12 The design of the pins 7, 18 with its web 17 is also in FIG. 12 represented and easily recognizable. Although only one web 17, which extends away from the surface of the journal 18, is conceivable, this embodiment has two webs 17 which are opposite to the journal 18.

Description
The invention relates to a connector, comprising a contact carrier with at least one contact chamber, wherein in the contact chamber arranged at the end of an electrical line contact partner is arranged, according to the features of the preamble of
Connectors for making an electrical connection, for example, between two cables have a connector which is brought into operative connection with a mating connector. Connectors and mating connectors have mutually associated contact partners, which are arranged at the end of electrical lines to form a plug connection and thus an electrical contact after mating the connector with the mating connector.
However, there are also installation situations in which the connector must first be handled independently of the space and its positional fixation (For example, during its manufacture), but it must be flexible if it is to be mated with the mating connector.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a connector that can be plugged together with a mating connector to a connector, which is flexible in terms of its installation in the space, but can also be fixed in its position.
This object is solved by the features of
According to the invention it is provided that a mounting rocker is provided on the connector, wherein the connector is mounted with the mounting rocker on a base. This makes it possible to first produce the connector independently of the mounting rocker. The same applies to the mounting rocker itself, which is manufactured independently of the connector. After making the connector and the rocker, these two components are brought together so that the connector is mounted to a base with the mounting rocker. Since the connector is movable relative to the mounting rocker, in particular drehbewegbar, is arranged on this, on the one hand the connector is mounted on the base (fixed in its space in its position), but can also be moved at the same time when it is mated with the mating connector , The mounting rocker and the relative movement of the connector to the specified mounting rocker is particularly advantageous if is moved during the mating of the connector with the mating connector of the mating connector relative to the fixed in the space connector. This means that in the mating process or even thereafter the specified via the mounting rocker on the base connector movement understand the mating connector and can join. This tracing the movement of the mating connector through the connector is particularly advantageous if the connector is attached via the mounting rocker to the base of an at least two-part component and the mating connector is disposed on a further part of the component. It is therefore only necessary to fix the connector via its mounting rocker on one part of the component, which also applies to the mating connector, which is arranged directly or indirectly on the other part of the component or formed by this. Then, the two parts are brought together to the component, eliminating further assembly steps in terms of bringing together connector and mating connector to the connector.
With the mounting rocker according to the invention, the connector is fixed to the base. Here is still a certain relative movement between the at least two elements of the component possible. After this happens is, the further element of the component with the mating connector can be moved relative to the first element of the component, in particular pivoted, which is only possible by the mounting rocker with which the connector is fixed to the base. For by the determination of the connector via the mounting rocker at the base of the first element of the component, then already assembled connector plug connector and mating connector can join the movement of the second element of the component, so that this second element in its desired position on the first element of Component is set. Thus, as a result of the described processes, the plug connection can be realized and the at least two elements of the component can be connected to one another. The component is, for example, an exterior mirror of a vehicle, which consists of a support (first element of the exterior mirror, also referred to as Spiegelchssis) and an outer cap (second element of the exterior mirror, also referred to as an outer housing, which may have a turn signal, which the connector is powered) consists.
In a further development of the invention, the connector is arranged latching on the mounting rocker. Thereby, the connector can be arranged via the mounting rocker in at least two or more positions, preferably exactly two positions, with respect to the base. The first position is, for example, a pre-locking position that is set when the connector is assembled with the mounting rocker. If the two parts have been assembled to the component and thereby the plug connection has been realized, the connector is in the further, in particular in the second position, for example, end position. As a result, the connector is fixed at any time in a defined but variable position relative to the mounting rocker and thus also relative to the base.

The

To realize a defined rotational movement of the
