The device for handling banknotes is, in particular, a pure coin depositor or a coin recycler, in which deposited coins can also be returned. In such devices, the control takes place via an internal control unit according to predetermined driving criteria. For example, this control criterion determines which tolerances are used in the recognition of the authenticity of entered coins.
