Description

The invention relates to a traffic management system for providing traffic information and for traffic control and influencing in a street network of a city according to the preamble of claim 1.

Ein derartiges Verkehrsmanagementsystem ist aus der Produktschrift "SITRAFFIC Concert, SITRAFFIC Scala und SITRAFFIC Guide: Drei Aufgaben - eine gemeinsame Plattform", herausgegeben 2008 von der Siemens AG, Bestell-Nr. E10003-A800-A64-V1, bekannt. Such a traffic management system can be found in the product brochure "SITRAFFIC Concert, SITRAFFIC Scala and SITRAFFIC Guide: Three tasks - one common platform", published in 2008 by Siemens AG, order no. E10003-A800-A64-V1, known. The traffic management center has open interfaces to traffic-strategically relevant systems, such as the fire brigade center, official building site systems, parking centers, traffic signal systems of the civil engineering offices, central offices of the transport companies or administrative systems of sports arenas and other event venues in order to use their data for strategic traffic management. Open interfaces also serve to pass on reliable traffic information to a wide variety of external service providers. Based on this data, navigation systems can guide the user safely and quickly to their destination and automatically take traffic jams and diversions into account. Traffic jam warnings, traffic information and travel time calculations distributed via the Internet and radio also help to find the best route in terms of transport technology. The traffic management center also offers direct influence on dynamic display boards with detour recommendations, smoothness, fog or traffic jam warnings and speed limits.

Traffic management systems are also from the publications, for example US 2011/0034183 A1 and DE 102 00 002 A1 known.

Dynamic street-side information boards, the spoken radio and the so-called TMC service of the radio data system have a low flexibility and a limited performance with regard to the content of the information messages. The Internet is not tailored to the individual road user and the local relevance of the respective information.

From the EP 1 006 684 A2 a method for transmitting traffic information from a center to a mobile radio terminal via a transmission channel is known. Traffic data from vehicles traveling in traffic and / or stationary detectors and / or other sources, such as registration authorities, are received at the head office and are revised there if necessary. The traffic information relates to a location and a type of event, for example a motorway number and the length of a traffic jam thereon. The traffic information is encoded using two-dimensional coding tables (location, event) in order to be transmitted in compressed form via the transmission channel. As a result, traffic information can be sent into a radio cell of the mobile radio network, which are important for this radio cell in terms of location and / or time, for example traffic jam reports. The traffic information is decoded in the mobile radio terminal using a decoding table. In order to keep the memory in the mobile radio terminal small, table information is transmitted from the control center to the mobile radio terminals in gaps not occupied by traffic information. In order to determine in the head office which traffic areas are to be transmitted in which local areas - that is to say in which group of radio cells - a further table is provided in the head office, which includes selection criteria for selecting radio cells on the basis of the traffic information to be transmitted. The broadcast is a cell phone short broadcast cell broadcast broadcast.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a traffic management system of the type mentioned at the beginning with which a road user moving in the traffic network can be supplied directly and specifically with current information messages.

The object is achieved according to the invention by a generic traffic management system with the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Accordingly, the traffic management system comprises a terminal device that can be carried by a road user to receive and output the information message. As a recipient of information, the road user carries a mobile terminal device, in particular a so-called smartphone or vehicle on-board device, with which an associated application program for receiving and outputting information messages can be executed. The increasing availability of smartphones is used in an advantageous manner for a wide distribution of information messages. The traffic management system also includes data transmission means for transmitting the information message from the traffic management center to the terminal. In addition, the means for the central generation of an information message for road users are also designed for the geographical location of the information message by assigning a location identifier for the purpose-oriented transmission and / or output of the located information message. The location identifier represents a location or section of the traffic network relating to the information message. The data transmission means have a plurality of distribution devices strategically arranged in the city's street network, which are connected to the traffic management center for wired and / or wireless data transmission and each comprise a transmission unit for the wireless transmission of information messages to end devices within a local transmission area, an information message based on the latter Location identifier can be specifically transferred to one or more distribution devices. The distribution devices are arranged on the road side in the road network at locations relevant to traffic. The transmission units have a local transmission area with a range between 50 m and 300 m and are designed as WLAN transmitters.

The core of the traffic management system according to the invention lies in a locally selected, targeted transmission of information directly to the road user in moving traffic, for example in the vehicle. The proposed traffic management system encompasses the entire process chain of data entry, data processing, data transmission and data output and thus represents an integrated element of the traffic management system. The integration into the strategy module of the traffic management system enables coordinated, content-consistent information on various information channels, such as spoken radio, street-side information displays, the Internet or the RDS / TMC service, which leads to synergy effects. The invention advantageously uses information and expert knowledge present in a traffic management center in order to provide current information to the road user and to strategically influence the traffic. The operator in the traffic management center knows the critical points in the city or metropolitan transport network, planned events and interventions in traffic through closures or construction sites, the connected parking space and the current traffic situation. This enables a networked view of traffic and a definition of the information message content based on it. Above all, traffic infrastructure operators, such as cities and municipalities, and event organizers, for example of trade fairs and large sporting or cultural events, come into consideration as users of the traffic management system according to the invention. For the data transmission interface between the traffic management center and the roadside distribution devices, for example, cables and Ethernet or mobile radio, in particular the packet-switching radio data transmission service, GPRS for short, come into consideration. The distribution facilities are located at strategically important points in the transport network, for example on main access roads, at tunnels, at exhibition centers, sports arenas, animal parks and the like, installed and include a receiving unit for the information messages and a transmitting unit with a local transmission area, which can be designed in particular as a WLAN transmitter and is used to broadcast the information messages locally around the distribution device. A targeted transmission of information messages to the various distribution facilities takes into account the respective network sections on which an urban focus has an impact. In this way, the information is reduced according to its geographic relevance. The terminal and the application program executable on it are designed to receive information messages, to filter them according to personal preferences and directions of movement and to acoustically and / or optically output the information message. With a WLAN solution, there are no communication costs and no internet connection is required.

In an advantageous embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, the generating means have a manual input interface for an operator for editing an information message and for assigning the location identifier. An editorial workstation in the traffic management center is used to generate and geographically locate the information message, for example as free text. The free supply of information enables great flexibility and greater detail than known TMC messages or messages on dynamic information boards. In addition to the text message, the transmission of map representations and graphically prepared content are also possible, which can be called up in addition to an acoustic output.

In a preferred embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, the generating means are designed to automatically generate and locate an information message depending on a traffic situation currently recorded in the traffic network. In the strategy module of the traffic management center, information can be embedded in largely automated message management, including the assignment of special message content to the various locations or network sections. In the case of recurring events, predefined, situation-dependent information messages can be pre-supplied in the strategy module, so that their automated activation is possible and the operator is relieved during operation.

In an alternative preferred embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, the data transmission means have a central interface to the Internet, the terminal comprising a mobile interface to the Internet, position determining means for determining the terminal position in the traffic network and filter means for the targeted output of a received information message based on its location identifier and direction of movement. Here, the traffic management center provides information messages via the Internet, which are provided with a spatial area of validity. Information messages via mobile radio are queried via the application program running on the terminal. The relevant information messages are selected for the road user on the basis of the GPS position of the terminal using filter means in the terminal. These filter functions enable road users to further filter the information messages according to their own preferences, for example no information about the city center or no information about a specific event.

In an advantageous embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, traffic data recorded by traffic detectors installed in the traffic network, in particular traffic volumes and average speeds, can be fed to the traffic management center, with the generating means for this purpose are trained to generate an information message with a current traffic situation from the traffic data. In this way, for example, traffic congestion in the inner city area or traffic disruptions at traffic-relevant positions in the road network can be reported to affected road users.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, occupancy data recorded from parking facilities connected to the traffic network, in particular from parking garage or parking ticket machine centers, can be supplied, the generating means being designed to generate an information message with the current parking space situation from the occupancy data. By notifying, for example, that the parking facilities in the inner city area are overloaded, road users can take early consideration of alternative parking facilities in peripheral areas, for example with a public transport connection.

In yet another advantageous embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, environmental data recorded by environmental sensors installed in the traffic network, in particular pollutant content or temperature measurement data, can be fed to the traffic management center, the generating means being designed to generate an information message with the current environmental situation from the environmental data. For example, the reported environmental situation can also include ozone levels in the city.

In another advantageous embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, the traffic management center of administration systems of events taking place in the traffic network, in particular trade fair or sporting events, event data provided, in particular recommended arrival and return routes, can be supplied, the generating means being designed to provide an information message from the event data with current Generate event notices. An information message can contain, for example, the name, location, duration and opening times of an event, as well as assigned parking spaces and route recommendations for the arrival and return journey.

Further properties and advantages result from a specific exemplary embodiment of the traffic management system according to the invention, which is described in more detail below with reference to the drawing, in the single figure of which the communication chain of the traffic management system is schematically illustrated.

The location can be done manually or automatically.

The traffic management center 2 has an output interface 7, to which data transmission means 8 in the form of cables, Ethernet or also mobile radio is coupled in order to display the centrally generated information messages IM1, IM2, ..., IMn to transmit terminals 11 carried by road users. As a result, information messages IM1, IM2, ..., IMn can be specifically transmitted to one or more distribution devices 9 based on their location code, from where they are transmitted to terminals 10 which are in the transmission range of the respective distribution device 9 and thus in a location area for which the transmitted information message has relevance.

The end devices 11 can be designed as so-called smartphones2013P or as vehicle on-board devices, that is, they can be equipped with data processing and radio communication means on which an application program 12 for receiving and outputting information messages IM1, IM2, ..., IMn can be executed. An information message IM1, IM2, ..., IMn can be output acoustically via a loudspeaker and / or optically on a display unit. The application program 12 can also be used to personalize the user's settings for filtering information messages IM1, IM2, ..., IMn according to predefinable criteria, for example no information about the city center, no information about a specific event, or the like.

The traffic management system according to the invention partially uses existing components of a traffic management center, which means that the investment costs for the operator are low and are limited to the distribution facilities, an expansion module in the traffic management center and the creation and provision of the application program for the end device.
