Abstract

The lighting device relates to light-emitting diode lighting equipment and is easily adapted for various outdoor lighting tasks. The technical result consists in reducing the labor intensity of the assembly and in decreasing production costs. The lighting device comprises a main light-emitting diode module, at least one additional light-emitting diode module, and a means for connecting said modules. The housing of the modules is manufactured by an extrusion procedure and has an inner and an outer cylindrical surface, while the means for connecting the housings is in the form of a sliding pair, wherein the first member of the sliding pair is formed on the surface of the housing of the attached module, and the second member is formed on the surface of the housing of the additional module.

Description

    ■Art
  • This lighting device relates to the field of lighting technology and intended for utilizing as light-emitting diode lighting equipment easily adaptable and suitable for outdoor operation.
  • ■State of the Art
  • It is known that modular makeup devices are featured with a number of benefits. Particularly, with this kind of embodiment applied, it is possible to shorten the period of designing, reduce production costs and simplify operating and upgrading functions ("Polytechnic Dictionary" under the editorship of A.Yu. Ishlinskiy, Moscow, "Soviet Encyclopedia", 1989, p. 311)
  • A number of solutions describing the modular structure of lighting devices including the first lighting module equipped with emitting sources, which end section is fitted with attachment for mating the end section of the second lighting module, which is also fitted with attachment for mating the end section of the third module, which is also designed for attaching the following module, are currently in use (patent US2006050505 issued on 09.03.2010, IPC F21S4/00; patent EP 1433997 issued on 30.06.2004 , IPC F21S4/00).
  • The CYC-2-50 (70) outdoor LED lighting fixture containing two LED modules
    Figure imgb0001
    spaced at the angle of 50 (70)º is currently in use (http://www.energonovo.ru/production/led.teh/s.u.o.3.h tm). No information concerning the method of LED module inter-mating is provided, but one thing is clear enough that the both units are fixed on a supporting pole.
  • The LED modular lighting device containing a base module fixed on the supporting pole and fitted with attaching means for connecting an additional mating module and designed as a rotating pair that runs around its axis, is currently in use. The mating module is also fitted with similar elements connected to the following module. The axes of all serially connected modules lie in vertical plain passing through the axis of a support. The known solution makes it possible to adapt close alignment of the lighting device modules by means of combining fixing elements with module connecting elements. But due to integration of specific module holders and fixing elements, the module connecting elements have rather complicated design. Thus, the time spent on lighting fixture assembly and maintenance is extended and product costs goes up (patent KR 101027101 (B1 ), IPC F21V21/116, issued on 05.04.2011).
  • As applied by both the functionality and design, Patent KR 101027101 is the closest equivalent of the solution claimed to be accepted as a prior art.
  • The claimed solution causes to diversification of outdoor-adaptable LED lighting devices and allows simplifying their modification. Since the lighting fixtures may be thoroughly mated less fixing elements, their assembly and maintenance time, as well as production costs may be reduced.
  • ■Detailed Description of the Solution
  • The claimed solution may be characterized by the features as follows:
    • The lighting device containing a basic LED module designed for fixing on a separate supporting pole and, at least, one mating LED module and housing attachment, characterized by the extrusion-molded housing to have internal and external radial surfaces and for the interconnection element designed as a sliding pair, where the first sliding pair link is produced on the surface of the fixed module housing and the second sliding pair link - on the surface of the mating module housing.
  • Optionally, the lighting device may be completed with two mating LED modules fixed symmetrically relative to the basic LED module.
  • If enhanced, the lighting device may be additionally completed with short-length LED modules.
  • The sliding pair link contours may be molded and shaped along with the housings under extrusion and integrated both inside the body, and on the body surface.
  • The module housings have specific sliding radial surfaces suitable for connection of angular-configured modules.
  • ■Brief Description of Drawings
  • The lighting device is explained by the following drawings:
    • The lighting device perspective drawing is given in Fig.1;
    • Cross-sectional view of the fixed lighting device LED module case, as specified by Fig. 1, is given in Fig. 2;
    • Cross-sectional view of the lighting device mating LED module case, as specified by Fig. 1, is given in Fig. 3.
  • The lighting device contains base LED module 1, fixed on a separate pole 2 and comprises emitting sources 3 integrated in housing 4 with its radial surface 9. Mating module 6 comprises emitting sources 7 and housing 8 with its radial surface 9. Connection element of housings 4 and 8 is designed as a sliding pair with link 10 integrated in basic module housing 10 and with link 11 integrated in housing 8 of mating module 6.
  • Originally, link 10 is designed as a tee-slot made on housing 4 of basic module 1. In this case, link 11 is designed as a lug made on housing 9 of mating module 8. To mate lighting device modules, it is necessary to slide a lug of housing 8 inside the tee-slot of housing 4 till the mating housings are fully aligned relative to each other.
  • When mating the lighting device LED modules, no additional fixing elements are required, but reliable alignment and positioning is provided. This kind of a modular lighting fixture is simple in operation and service.
  • The required configurations of the modular lighting fixture are obtained due to employment of specific molded housing shape. In addition to, the flat light-emitting surface may face both outwards and inwards.
  • ■Possibility of Industrial Application
  • The alternative designs of the elements described may be optionally extended. Some equivalent structural solutions may have various embodiments adaptable in scope of specific applications. The embodiment components have production-friendly shape and may be duly employed along with a number of known automatic control facilities.
