As a devaluation unit so-called ink kits are used in particular, which color when they trigger the notes of value with special irreversible colors. Such ink kits typically include an ink container in which the ink or other inking liquid is contained. It is an object of the invention to provide a cashbox, which offers the highest possible protection against manipulation with little damage by triggering a devaluation unit.

This object is achieved by a cashbox having the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

According to the invention, in the cash box in addition to the activated operating mode and the deactivated operating mode another operating mode, the monitoring operating mode, preset. The activated operating mode and the monitoring operating mode are used in particular for the transport of the cashbox in an unsecured environment.
