Description

The invention relates to a method for producing a bonded printed product formed from a plurality of printed products, wherein the printed products are collected on a first conveyor section of a conveyor line of a rotating conveyor to loose book block and fed to a subsequent further conveyor section of an adhesive binder, and an apparatus for performing the method ,

The methods used in the print finishing for binding printed products to bound printed products, require previously collecting the individual printed products to loose book blocks in a collator and then transfer the book blocks in the transport clamps of a perfect binder. The transfer between the gathering machine and the perfect binder involves at least the function of placing the completed, loose book block at the speed of the gathering machine and that provided by the collecting device Align and deliver with the speed of the perfect binder and the required orientation to the perfect binder.

According to a first prior art, the book blocks are conveyed in the gathering machine in the direction of the book block back, in a cross-sectionally V-shaped and slightly inclined against the Rückenfalze channel. The delivery of the book block on the also longitudinally perfect binder takes place in a vertical plane, the Rückenfalze the book block are aligned downward. The promotion of the book blocks within the gathering machine and the transfer usually takes place in a form-fitting manner by means of chains attached to the book blocks and pushing the carriers. If no optional operations, such as vibrating, adding and gluing attachment sheets, stapling, printing, etc. on the book blocks, are carried out in the area of the transfer, they only have to be raised from a slightly inclined position to a vertical position during the conveyance in the back longitudinal direction. When the gathering machine stops, the perfect binder can continue to run to finish the book block in the middle of processing. For this purpose, a transfer element is required, which transfers the book blocks from the gathering chain of the gathering machine into a conveyor chain of the perfect binder inlet. The transfer member can also be used to compensate for differences in speed due to different pitches between the gathering machine and the perfect binder. This solution is very simple, but has the disadvantage that the printed products are conveyed in the direction in which they have the greatest length. As a result, the pitch between mandatory following book block and the conveying speed relatively large. The conveying speed can thus form the limits for the maximum possible production speed. Affected here is primarily the channel area of the gathering machine, where due to the promotion of air turbulence arise that generate buoyancy forces on the top printed products of the loose book block and can lift them from the book block. Another disadvantage manifests itself as the collapse of the gathering machine, in that the loose blocks of books shoot forward by their kinetic energy to the next driver and thus lose their orientation, which can lead to bad products or machine stops.

According to a further prior art, the book blocks are collected and conveyed in a standing channel, whereby even the raising can be omitted. However, the above-mentioned properties and disadvantages also apply here.

After another, in the EP 0 675 005 B1 According to the prior art, the loose book blocks in the perfect binder are conveyed transversely to the longitudinal direction of the back. It is also conceivable to also convey the printed products in the collating machine transversely to the longitudinal direction of the back and then to transfer them into the transverse perfect binder. Thus, the conveying speed can be reduced at the same production speed compared to a promotion in the back longitudinal direction. A disadvantage of this solution is the complicated structure of the perfect binder, since for individual processing a relative movement between the processing tools and the book block in the back longitudinal direction is required.

According to a further prior art, the printed sheets are collected transversely to the longitudinal direction of the back on a conveyor belt in the form of superimposed scale flows and separated before transfer to a longitudinally perfect binder to individual book block from the scale formation. Like in the EP 1 528 023 A1 disclosed, the book block can be placed in transverse compartments and placed after separation, so that the book block backs are aligned down and transferred by means of a 90 ° deflection translationally in a flow with conveying direction in the back longitudinal direction. This solution combines the advantages of a gathering machine running transversely to the back area with an adhesive binder running lengthwise to the back area. A disadvantage is that thicker book blocks or book blocks smaller formats, and book blocks with stiff content, such as CD-ROM can not be processed with this method. Also, the achievable positions of smaller printed products within a book block are limited by this method.

The invention has for its object to take over in a product stream at a first speed continuously and transversely to the back in a tilted against the conveying direction reserve book block and to transfer at a second speed in the back longitudinal direction in transport brackets of Klebebinders.

The object is achieved according to the invention that the printed on the first conveying section transversely to the conveying direction in a tilted against the conveying direction reserve printed products resp. loose book block on the further conveyor section accelerated to form a greater pitch between the printed products and are raised by a pivoting movement such that a side edge is in a direction approximately parallel to the conveying direction and that the printed products resp. loose book block from this position in transport brackets of the adhesive binder are raised.

The invention will be explained below with reference to the drawing, to which reference is made with respect to all details not mentioned in the description, using an exemplary embodiment.

The sole figure of the drawing shows schematically an adhesive binder in a greatly simplified representation.

By means of a circulating conveying device 4, printed products 1 are formed into a loose book block 5 in a first conveying section 2 of a conveying path 6. The conveyor device 4 is formed by a plurality of conveyor units 19 arranged one behind the other, which can be moved along a closed guide track 14. Each conveyor unit 19 can be driven individually, whereby the speed and distance between the conveyor units 19 on the guideway 14 can be varied. A conveyor unit 19 consists essentially of a table 15, a table perpendicular to the stop 16 and a table 15 and the stop 16 vertical side stop 17 for receiving the printed products 1. The side stop 17 is required only during collection and is from the Area of the abutment side 13 of the printed products 1 formed displaceable. The conveyor units 19 are relative to Conveying direction F pivotable about at least one axis. On the first conveyor section 2, the conveyor units 19 are aligned slightly sloping against a tilted in the conveying direction F reserve and against the stop side 13, whereby the printed products 1 resp. Book block 5 with one of its flat sides 9 on the table 15, a side edge 22 on the stop 16 and the stop side 13 abut the side stop 17. Arranged along the guideway 14 sheet feeder (not shown) feed the conveyor units 19 in a known manner with printed products 1, so that at the end of the first conveyor section 2, the conveyor units 19 complete, loose book block 5, which rest on the conveyor units 19 by its own weight on three sides , resp. are aligned on three sides after the conveyor units 19. To reduce the wind, the pitch 11 between successive conveyor units 19 in the first conveyor section 2 is kept as small as possible.

The book blocks 5 have a different orientation and a greater spacing 12 in relation to the first conveyor section 2 to be fed in a circulating track 21 guided transport brackets 8 a subsequent adhesive binding device. The adjacent to the attacks 16 side edges 22 of the printed products 1 now point down and form a book block back 25 and the flat sides 9, 10 lie in parallel, vertical planes. For this purpose, the book blocks 5 have to be accelerated on a further conveying section 3 to form the greater pitch 12 and raised by a pivoting movement such that they are in a direction parallel to the conveying direction F and from this position by lifting 24th can be raised in the transport brackets 8 of the adhesive binding device 7. At least during the raising of the book block 5 in the transport brackets 8 in a last conveying area 23 of the further conveyor section 3, the conveyor units 19 synchronously and rectified to the conveying direction F of the circulating transport brackets 8 of the perfect binder 7. After the book block 5 by the transport brackets 8 are the Conveying units 19 again with respect to the orientation to the conveying direction F back to the starting position required in the collation process. At the latest before the start of the collection process, the smaller pitch 11 between the conveyor units 19 is restored. At least on the further conveyor section 3, the book blocks 5 are held on the flat sides 9, 10 by the action of a force P, P 'on the conveyor unit 19. This is necessary so that the book blocks 5 can not move during acceleration and / or pivotal movement on the conveyor units 19.
