Description

Technisches GebietTechnical area

The invention relates to a weft insertion needle for a needle ribbon loom according to the preamble of claim 1.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

A weft insertion needle of the aforementioned type is known from CH 663 629 A. If the weft insertion needle is used in a needle loom, in which a weft loop inserted into a shed is to be tied off by means of an auxiliary thread on the side facing away from the entry side, then there are the disadvantages that both legs of the weft loop come into the effective range of the knitting needle, so that a perfect bonding in the narrowest space is difficult.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

The object of the invention is to further improve the above-mentioned weft insertion needle in order to avoid the disadvantages mentioned.

The object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. By a arranged on the arm on a side facing away from the guide bracket guide element, which extends from the region of the hook only over a portion of the length of the arm. The guide element forms on the side facing away from the hook a deflection point for the deflection of the free leg of the weft thread loop. As a result, the free leg of the inserted weft thread loop is deflected so that it does not get into the effective range of the knitting needle, whereby a perfect setting of the weft thread loop is ensured by means of an auxiliary thread and this in a confined space.

Advantageous developments of the weft insertion needle are given in the dependent claims 2 to 6.

According to claim 2, the guide element may be formed as a second guide bracket, which is arranged on the side facing away from the first guide bracket arm and extends across the hook from the front end of the weft insertion needle only over a portion of the length of the arm and is connected to this, wherein the connection point on the arm forms a deflection point for the deflection of the free leg of the weft loop.

A particularly simple solution is described in claim 3, according to which the guide element is designed as a guide groove which extends on the outside of the arm from the hook over the portion of the length of the arm, wherein the curvature of the arm forms the deflection point.

Depending on the constructional conditions of the needle loom, it may be advantageous to let the guide element according to claim 4 extend only over the first third or the first quarter of the length of the arm.

In principle, it is possible to arrange the first guide bracket at the top and the guide element at the bottom, but a design of the weft insertion needle according to claim 5 is considerably more advantageous, according to which the first guide bracket is arranged at the bottom and the guide element at the top.

For the formation of the hook, there are also various design options. However, preferred is the embodiment according to claim 6, wherein the hook points to the outside of the bent arm.

Wege zur Ausführung der ErfindungWays to carry out the invention

The FIG. 1 shows the weaving area of a needle loom. Warp threads 2 are opened by means of a shedding device, not shown, to a shed into which a weft thread loop 6 of a laterally supplied weft thread 8 is entered by means of a weft insertion needle 4. On the side facing away from the entry side, a knitting needle 10 is present, which forfeits an auxiliary thread 12 with the weft thread loop 6 in order to secure the weft thread loop. The secured weft yarn loop 6 is struck by means of a reed 14 at the stop edge 16, so that a tape fabric 18 is formed.

The weft insertion needle 4 is in FIG. 2 shown in more detail. The weft insertion needle 4 has a bent arm 20, which is connected at one end 22 to a drive element 24 of the needle loom. At the other end 26, a hook 28 for detecting the weft loop 6 is arranged. The arm 20 has substantially over its entire length a lower, first guide bracket 30 which forms a slot 32 for receiving at least one weft thread 8 with the arm. At the hook 28 facing the end of the guide bracket 30 is fixedly connected via a connecting part 34 with the arm 20. On the side facing away from the first guide bracket 30 a guide element is arranged in the form of a second guide bracket 36 which engages over the hook 28 and on the one hand at the front end of the weft insertion needle is preferably attached to the connecting part 34 of the first guide bracket 30 and on the other hand only over a section, for example a quarter to a third of the Length of the arm 20 extends and is attached to this. This attachment forms a deflection point 35 for the deflection of the free leg 38 of the weft thread loop 6. The length of the second guide bracket is to be chosen so that the free leg of the weft thread loop does not get into the effective range of the knitting needle.

As in particular from FIG. 1 can be seen, the second guide bracket 36 directs the free leg 38 of the weft loop 6 from the effective range of the knitting needle 10, so that when forking the auxiliary thread 12 of the free leg 38 is not detected. If the second guide bracket 36 were missing, the free leg of the weft loop 8 would take the course indicated by dashed lines 38a and thus reach the effective range of the knitting needle 10, whereby a secure setting of the weft loop 6 by means of the auxiliary thread 12 would be at least difficult. In FIG. 1 is indicated that via the guide member 40 a plurality of weft threads 8, 8a, 8b can be fed, which lie in the slot 32 of the first guide bracket 30 and can be brought in unspecified manner optionally with the hook 28 of the weft insertion needle into engagement, as shown in State of the art is known.

In the FIGS. 3 to 5 a further embodiment of a weft insertion needle 4a is shown, that of the Figures 1 and 2 corresponds, so that the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals. In the weft insertion needle of FIGS. 3 to 5 the guide element is designed as a guide groove 42, which extends from the hook 28a, starting over a portion of the length of the arm 20 and that on the outside thereof, which is remote from the guide bracket 30 so far. The selected weft thread 8 is lifted in the region of the connecting part 34 from the lower slot 32 in the upper region of the hook 28a and thus enters the hook 28a. When settling the weft insertion needle 4a in the shed the weft thread 8 is guided in the guide groove 42, wherein the curvature of the arm 20 forms the deflection point 35a, which deflects the weft thread legs so far that it does not reach into the effective range of the knitting needle not shown here.
