Due to the growing number of multimedia and telecommunications applications, the use of so-called headsets (headsets) and headphones is becoming increasingly important. To further simplify the use of headsets increasingly wireless transmission systems are used in particular according to the Bluetooth standard to replace uncomfortable cable connections to other communication interfaces.
Even with hearing impaired there is the need to use such wireless communication means. For example, a hearing aid can be equipped with a wireless transmission interface according to the Bluetooth standard and thus be used as a universal communication interface.
When using a Bluetooth interface but also other interfaces in hearing aids, however, the following problem arises. A Bluetooth interface is usually suitable for establishing point-to-point and point-to-multipoint transmissions. A prerequisite for the construction of the transmission link, however, is to recognize the currently available Bluetooth transceiver based on their characteristic addresses and to be able to select these if necessary. This generally requires a complex user interface with keyboard and display elements. In this way, a Bluetooth transceiver can selectively communicate with certain Bluetooth communication interfaces. For an interface integrated in a hearing aid, however, such operating and display elements are not available.
With previously available Bluetooth headsets, therefore, limited to a very limited communication function. The headsets log in to a fixed and once stored address, so that a well-defined point-to-point connection can be made for example to a mobile phone. The storage of this address can be achieved, for example, by placing the headset in the immediate vicinity of the desired transmitter and pressing a push button on the headset.
For an application of Bluetooth technology in hearing aids, however, it would be desirable to simultaneously or sequentially connect to multiple communication z. B. from a telephone, PC, TV, stereo, etc. to build. The object of the present invention is therefore to propose a hearing aid and a corresponding method, with which the communication with a plurality of communication interfaces is facilitated.
According to the invention this object is achieved by a hearing aid according to
Ferner wird die oben genannte Aufgabe gelöst durch ein Verfahren nach Anspruch 7.Furthermore, the above-mentioned object is achieved by a method according to
Advantageous developments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims.
Advantageously, it is thus possible for the wearer of a hearing device to store the addresses of several signal sources in advance or dynamically as required and to establish a corresponding communication connection on the basis of the address list. Preferably, the address management is priority driven, so that the individual needs of the hearing aid wearer can be better met.
The selection of the signal source can be done manually or automatically. For example, a special transmitter in a room may be provided for switching the hearing device in this room into a specific hearing program or to a specific signal source.
The present invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which the sequence of the method according to the invention is shown schematically in one embodiment.
The following embodiments are preferred embodiments of the present invention. In the drawing, a
In an
Based on the priority from the
In the following, the closer functioning of the device according to the invention with optional connection to a plurality of communication interfaces is set forth in more detail.
Typically, a Bluetooth transmission system consists of a high frequency part of the analog front-end coupled to a digital baseband part. In this, the various layers of the Bluetooth communication model are generally implemented by using appropriate software implementations on a processor system. The uppermost layer represents the application layer, in which on the one hand the functionalities of the system are defined, on the other hand the mechanism for the identification of the addresses of the communication partners is realized.
The above-mentioned priority-driven address management system knows several addresses of signal sources and thus allows optional communication with multiple interfaces. For example, if there are possibilities for storing three addresses, the two highest priority addresses could be stored by the acoustician in the hearing aid programming in the first two memory positions (eg for telephone and television). The third location on the other hand, it could be assigned dynamically to the operation of a push-button switch, as is customary for headset applications. With a firm allocation of priorities, the hearing aid system can communicate with given reachability with the communication interface, which currently has the highest priority.
In the case of receiving signals from a higher priority signal source during communication of a lower priority Bluetooth interface, the hearing aid wearer may be notified by an audible signal of this signal reception, e.g. B. from a phone to be alerted. The hearing aid wearer could then sequentially select between the communication partner identified by the addresses using the above-mentioned key switch.
In addition, it is possible to simultaneously convert the signals from several data or audio sources into acoustic signals. For this purpose, the sound levels to the respective signals could be adjusted to the priorities of the signal sources automatically or via the key switch.
The present invention thus advantageously allows the use of an address list with a prioritization and different methods for address assignment for extending the communication capability of a Bluetooth interface in hearing aids.
