    2. A connecting device according to claim 1 characterised in that the contact element (19) is a blade which is axially blunt-pointed at its end.
    3. A connecting device according to either one of claims 1 and 2 characterised in that the internal surface (39) of the contact element (19), which is towards the socket (18), is at least partly cylindrical, with its axis centred on the axis (A1) of said socket (18).
    4. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the contact element (19) extends between the axis (A1) of the socket (18) and the axis of rotation (A2) of the cam (20).
    5. A connecting device according to claim 4 characterised in that the external surface (40) of the contact element (19) which is towards the cam (20) is provided laterally with a recess (42) in line with the clamping rib (21) of said cam (20).
    6. A connecting device according to claim 5 characterised in that the recess (42) of the contact element (19) extends obliquely with respect to the axis (A1) of the socket (18).
    7. A connecting device according to either one of claims 5 and 6 characterised in that the external surface (40) of the contact element (19), which is towards the cam (20), transversely has another recess (42'), the two recesses (42, 42') being staggered with respect to each other along the axis of the contact element (19) so as to define a hollow in line with the clamping rib (21) of the cam (20), and that the clamping rib (21) has in axial section a substantially rectangular end profile with a flat crest, in such a way that defined between the end of the clamping rib (21) and the hollow in the contact element (19) is a chicane-shaped passage for the external sheath (13) of the coaxial cable (10).
    8. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the socket (10) belongs to a casing body (16A) and the contact element (19) is in one piece with said casing body (16A).
    9. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the socket (18) belongs to a casing body (16A) and the contact element (19) belongs to a contact piece which, separate from said casing body (16A), is fitted thereinto.
    10. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the socket (18) belongs to a casing body (16A) and the cam (20) comprises a hub (44), by way of one of the ends (45) of which it is mounted rotatably in a bearing (46) provided for it on the casing body (16A), and by way of the other end (47) of which it is mounted rotatably in a cradle (48) also provided for it on said casing body (16A), with, in overhanging relationship with said cradle (48), an elastically deformable bar portion (50) which belongs to an internal block (25A) fitted into the casing body (16A).
    11. A connecting device according to claim 10 characterised in that the bearing (46) of the casing body (16A) opens axially to the exterior in such a way that the hub (44) of the cam (20) is accessible to the user by way of its corresponding end (45).
    12. A connecting device according to either one of claims 10 and 11 characterised in that, on the side opposite to the bearing (46) of the casing body (16A), the internal block (25A) comprises a tongue portion (56), by way of which it axially fixes the cam (20).
    13. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the socket (18) belongs to a casing body (16A) and the cam (20) comprises a hub (44), by way of the ends (45, 47) of which it is mounted rotatably in cradles (46', 48) provided for it on the casing body (16A), with, in overhanging relationship with said cradles (46', 48), a cap (50') which belongs to an internal block (25A) fitted into the casing body (16A).
    14. A connecting device according to claim 13 characterised in that the cap (50') of the internal block (25A) transversely comprises a slot (82) for the passage of the clamping rib (21) of the cam (20).
    15. A connecting device according to either one of claims 13 and 14 characterised in that each of the cradles (46', 48) of the casing body (16A) opens axially to the exterior in such a way that the hub (44) of the cam (20) is accessible to the user by way of each of its ends (45, 47).
    16. A connecting device according '1to any one of claims 10 to 15 characterised in that latching means (88) are provided between the casing body (16A) and the internal block (25A).
    17. A connecting device according to claim 16 characterised in that the latching means (88) are operatively disposed beyond the cam (20).
    18. A connecting device according to either one of claims 16 and 17 characterised in that the latching means (88) comprise on the casing body (16A) a head (91) which laterally has in back-to-back relationship two catches (92) and, on the internal block (25A), two elastically deformable lugs (93) which are each capable of respectively coming into hooking engagement with the two preceding catches (92).
    19. A connecting device according to any one of claims 10 to 18 characterised in that indexing means (59 or 59', 60) are provided between the hub (44) of the cam (20) and the casing body (16A).
    20. A connecting device according to any one of claims 10 to 19 characterised in that the casing body (16A) is of conducting material and the internal block (25A) is of insulating material.
    21. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 20 characterised in that the cam (20) has only one clamping rib (21).
    22. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 20 characterised in that the cam (20) has at least two clamping ribs (21) which, in staggered relationship along its axis of rotation (A), are offset relative to each other.
    23. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 22 characterised in that it comprises a contact terminal (22) which is operatively disposed axially with respect to the socket (18) beyond same and with which the central core (11) of the coaxial cable (10) is intended to come into engagement, the bottom (34) of the socket (18) being pierced by an opening (35) for the passage of said central core (11).
    24. A connecting device according to claim 23 characterised in that the contact terminal (22) is operatively disposed in a pocket (29) belonging to an internal block (25A) fitted into the casing body (16A) and, for the passage of the central core (11) of a coaxial cable (10), said pocket (29) has an aperture (67) in line with the opening (35) in the bottom (34) of the socket (18).
    25. A connecting device according to claim 24 characterised in that the aperture (67) in the internal block (25A) is preceded by a converging engagement portion (68).
    26. A connecting device according to any one of claims 23 to 25 characterised in that, for the passage of the central core (11) of a coaxial cable (10), the contact terminal (22) comprises an aperture (70) with, in line with said aperture (70), two lips (71) which are elastically deformable and which, being directed towards each other at their ends, form a slot (72).
    27. A connecting device according to any one of claims 1 to 26 characterised in that it forms by itself an individual entity.
    28. A connecting device according to claim 27 characterised in that it comprises a casing (16) formed by a casing body (16A) to which the socket (18) belongs and a cover (16B) which closes the casing body (16A).
    29. A connecting device according to either one of claims 27 and 28 characterised in that it comprises in connection with the socket (18) an exit connecting portion (23, 23').
    30. A connecting device according to any one of claims 27 to 29 characterised in that it comprises two sockets (18) which are served in common by the same cam (20).
