Abstract

On utilise des méthodes de triangulation pour localiser les éléments de sortie sur le dispositif mobile d'entrée par rapport à la zone d'écriture. Les éléments de sortie sont de préférence des transducteurs à ultrasons. Les signaux reçus servent à définir la trajectoire et l'orientation du dispositif d'entrée de données. Dans une exécution préférée, des triangles successifs sont définis par les positions successives des deux signaux de sortie. La zone définie par les triangles sert alors à définir la trajectoire du dispositif d'entrée de données dans la zone d'écriture. Lorsqu'on utilise le dispositif d'entrée de données pour effacer, les zones triangulaires définies servent à effacer ou retirer de la mémoire les symboles ou trajectoires écrits définis. Lorsqu'on utilise le dispositif d'entrée de données pour marquer, la trajectoire définie sert de préférence à créer des effets calligraphiques. Dans d'autres exécutions, les éléments mobiles peuvent transmettre des informations supplémentaires à l'aide du premier et/ou du deuxième signal de sortie telles que des fonctions de marquage ou d'effacement, une couleur déterminée de plume, l'inclinaison des traits, le remplissage de couleur, un style de ligne ou l'identification de l'utilisateur.
