Description
The invention relates to a fan, in particular for the ventilation of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle with the features mentioned in the preamble of
The fan wheel working in such blowers generates noise when the air flow is conveyed, the sound energy of which, at least partially, passes through the ventilation duct into the passenger compartment together with the conveyed air flow, where it leads to an undesirably high noise level.
From DE 36 39 138 A1 discloses a sound-absorbing fan housing is known with wall portions consisting of a foam-sheathed support frame. The foam has a sound-absorbing and supporting skeleton a supporting function. To achieve an effective sound attenuation, however, a certain thickness of the foam is required, for which there is not always sufficient space available.
Die Fertigung eines solchen Gehäuses erfordert einen hohen Technologieaufwand.EP 0 412 454 B1 shows a housing of a single-flow radial fan with a sound-damping effect. It is about one Blower arranged a spiral casing, which consists of a hard, porous and multi-layered material. A layer of this material has a variable specific gravity with the thickness direction and also with the surface direction. As a result, the sound insulation properties are adapted to the local conditions and improved overall space. The production of such a housing requires a lot of technology.
The invention has for its object to provide a generic blower, in which the noise emission is reduced.
This object is achieved by a blower with the features of
The invention is based on the idea of repeatedly guiding the sound waves generated by an impeller through a damping surface of damping sound-permeable material. With each passage of the sound waves through this damping surface a part of the sound energy is dissipated, which is why the damping surface compared to known sound-insulating surfaces can be made thin and simple in construction. As a result, a noise-reduced blower is created, which is simple and has a low overall volume.
This idea is implemented by a fan housing having a damping surface of a damping sound-permeable material and the fan housing in turn is surrounded by a made of a sound-reflecting material reflection box in the region of the damping surface. The reflection box forms a resonance chamber with the blower housing and the damping surface. The ones from Blower wheel generated sound waves propagate through the damping surface in the resonance chamber, whereby they are damped for the first time when passing through the damping surface. After passing through the resonance chamber, they are reflected by the wall and hit the damping surface a second time. On re-passing through the damping surface, this time back to the impeller, the sound waves are once again damped, causing the sound level to reach the desired low level. The reflection box needs to be no additional component, as in many known fan constructions, due to the function of the fan, a suitable box is available. In double-flow radial blowers with two separate inlet openings, the fan housing in the form of a spiral housing is enclosed by an overflow box for supplying both inlet openings with air. The construction of existing overflow box is designed without additional effort and space as a reflection box.
In a preferred embodiment, the damping surface is formed in a simple manner by a supporting grid structure, which is covered with a damping membrane, whereby the wall thickness can be kept very low.
In another preferred embodiment, the damping surface and in particular the entire blower housing is formed of foamed plastic, which can be realized with little effort manufacturing technology. This training also allows a simple way to attach a provided for the protection of the inlet opening inlet grate by lathering the blower housing.
