Abstract

The desk constructed from cardboard, with or without a support (1), has a recess (27) in its working surface (14) to receive a replaceable block of paper sheets (28) which are at least partially held in place by the edges of the recess. The desk top can also have a hole (17) for a container to hold office utensils. The working surface of the desk forms the lid of a storage compartment (11) which forms the body of the desk, while its support is made from two crossing and interlocking slotted panels with tabs (6) to join it to the undersurface of the desk top. In a variant of the design the support can be made from two angled panels with a gap between them.

Description

The present invention relates to a furnishing article of the desk or desk type, in the thickness of which is inserted a refillable writing or drawing paper pad with detachable sheets or sheets or else a bundle of loose sheets, so as to free the upper surface of said work surface and to eliminate the risks of wrinkling or tearing of the sheets or sheets.

The solution which currently prevails in terms of organization of the work surface, for example of an office, consists notably in placing the sheets of paper either directly or by means of an intermediate pad on the work surface.

The well-known drawback of this solution lies in the fact that the sheets of paper, projecting from the surface of the work surface of the desk, can easily move, corner or crumple in particular at their lower corners by repeated contact with the wrists of shirt or jacket of the person seated at his desk.

The present invention aims to solve this problem. To this end, it relates to an item of furniture of the office or lectern type with a writing or drawing rechargeable paper pad integrated into the thickness of the worktop.

This objective is achieved in that, in accordance with the main characteristic of the invention, the worktop of the desk or the desk has in its thickness a volume of the receptacle type set back from its upper face adapted in surface and in size to receive and immobilize a refillable writing or drawing paper pad in the form of tear-off sheets or the like.

According to the essential advantage of the invention, the sheets or sheets are integrated in the thickness of the work surface and therefore no longer protrude from the upper face of the work surface of the desk or desk, so that it is possible to use them without risking creasing or cornering them.

According to another of its advantages, the furniture of the desk or desk type according to the invention is made entirely of cardboard, which makes it possible to substantially limit the cost price and to give it an easily removable character while retaining, for sufficient thickness of the cardboard, characteristics of robustness and rigidity allowing its intensive use.

The present invention proceeds from the general inventive idea which consists in providing in the thickness of the work surface of a piece of furniture of the desk or desk type a recessed receiving and wedging volume in the form of a suitable surface cavity. and dimensioned to receive and immobilize a refillable writing or drawing paper pad with detachable sheets or sheets or a bundle of loose sheets, so that the upper surface of said work surface is released and the sheets no longer protrude of this surface.

By work surface is meant any generally flat surface delimiting the upper part of a storage receptacle forming the box body of the piece of furniture such as the fixed horizontal table top or a desk, or even the hinged flap tray of a desk structure, and more generally any bearing surface to function of writing or drawing support.

The present invention applies to a wide variety of articles of the furniture type or furniture sets with a writing support function regardless of the material whether it is of wood, plastic, cardboard or any other.

An embodiment of cardboard will be described below by way of example having, in addition to its many specific advantages, those originating from the main characteristic of the invention, namely the integration of a writing or drawing paper pad in the thickness of the worktop.

In accordance with this non-limiting variant, the present invention is described with reference to a desk structure made entirely of cardboard, for example for children, which has a folding closing plane in the thickness of which is integrated a writing paper block or drawing with detachable sheets or a bundle of loose sheets or sheets.

The desk structure shown as a whole in FIG. 1 consists of a base 1 for supporting a box structure or body 2. According to a variant, the box body 2 is placed without an intermediate structure directly on a surface flat support, in particular the plate 3 of a table 4 (Figure 3). It is then used like a lectern.

As is clear from FIG. 2, the base 1 consists for example of two mobile panels such as 5 crossed at right angles and having on their upper edges means of assembly to the box body 2 in the form of cutouts in legs assembly such as 6 with longitudinal fold 7 whose role will be described in more detail later.

The box body 2 consists of a perimeter border 8 consisting of an alternating succession of two front longitudinal edges 9 and rear 10 and two transverse edges such as 11 identical.

The perimeter border 8 is supported by its longitudinal 9,10 and transverse edges 11 projecting from a bottom panel 12 of generally rectangular shape with which it delimits a volume or interior storage receptacle 13 forming the box body 2 of the desk.

The storage receptacle 13 is delimited upwards by a hinged flap plate or flap 14 pivotally articulated along a fold line 15 along a horizontal and plane plate 16 on which it is secured, conventionally by gluing, and which presents for example towards one of its ends a circular cutout 17 in which a cup 18 for storing office supplies such as pens, mechanical pencils, scissors or the like can be engaged and retained by its flanged end rim 19 .

The transverse flanges 11 each have the same profile 20 in a ramp inclined downwards towards the front of the box body 2 and delimit with the front longitudinal flange 9 a perimeter 21 on which the folding plate 14 is supported in the inclined closed position of the storage receptacle 13.

A compartmentalization reinforcement 22 is inserted (FIGS. 4 and 5) in the interior volume of the storage receptacle 13 delimited by the perimeter edge 8 and comes to block by its edges the longitudinal 9,10 and transverse flanges 11 of the box body 2 in position erected. The compartmentalization reinforcement 22 has a structure, for example symmetrical formed by two wings such as 23 separated by a central partition 24 shaped according to an inverted V profile which divides the interior space of the interior volume of the receptacle 13 into two identical compartments such as 25 and contributes to better seating of the folding table 14 as well as to the stiffening of the perimeter edge 8 projecting by locking at its ends longitudinal front 9 and rear 10 edges.

The upper face of the folding plate 14 of the box body 2 constitutes the work surface 26 of the desk according to the invention and has for this purpose, in accordance with the main characteristic of the invention, a housing or receiving volume 27 set back by compared to its upper side. This receiving volume 27 in the form of a receptacle is suitable in terms of surface and size for the incorporation, for example, of a paper pad 28 refillable for writing or drawing (FIGS. 1 and 2) or else a bundle 29 loose leaf (Figure 3). We will now describe the side of cardboard specific to the constitution of the box body 2 (FIGS. 6 and 7) having a succession of main and auxiliary panels hinged together by fold lines and the following operations for setting up this sidewall. of cardboard.

Firstly, in the plane of the bottom panel 12, there are assembly slots 32 and 33 associated in pairs in number equal to the number of assembly legs 6 that the base has 1. The outer panel 34 of the transverse flanges 11 is further extended towards its ends by two front immobilization flaps 38 and rear 39 of the longitudinal flanges 9 and 10.

The front longitudinal edge 9 has a structure similar to that of the transverse edges 11 with an outer vertical panel 40 and an inner lining panel 41 having along its lower edge, for example three assembly tabs such as 42 inserted in slots d 'assembly such as 43 that has the bottom panel 12 along its front longitudinal edge. Finally, the rear immobilization flaps 39 of the transverse edges 11 are folded horizontally inwards, forming a surface on which the intermediate plate 16 is supported. It then only remains to finish folding the panel 45 of the rear edge 10 inward. Two last flaps such as 51 arranged in its extension are fitted under the rear immobilization flaps 39 of the transverse flanges 11.

It is also noted that the front longitudinal edges 9 and rear 10 each have an assembly slot 52 for the reception of assembly tabs such as 53 that has the central partition 24 of the compartmentalization reinforcement 22 at its front and rear ends. .

Finally, preferably provided along the upper edge of the receiving housing 27, two gripping cutouts in a circular arc such as 54 which facilitate the laying and taking of the sheets, packages or bundles thereof.

According to a foldable variant, the furniture item of the desk or desk type according to the present invention consists of a simple cardboard tray 55 of general shape, for example rectangular, resting obliquely on a base 56 formed by two sides. one 57 connected to the plate 55 and the other free 58 crossed in scissors at right angles. These two sections 57, 58 are crisscrossed and nested one inside the other in the manner of a movable spider by the cooperation of two opposite median slots 59 and 60 respectively extending over part of their height. One of the sides, for example 57 of the base 56 has on its upper edge 61 assembly means such as 62 to the plate 55 in the form of two connecting tabs such as 63.

The upper face 64 of the plate 55 constitutes the support surface or work surface for writing or drawing support function of the desk or desk. In accordance with the essential characteristic of the invention, there is provided in the thickness of the plate 55 a cavity forming a housing or receiving volume 65, the bottom of which is set back from the upper face 64. For the purposes of the invention, the plate 55 must have a certain thickness and comprises for this purpose an intermediate plate of thick corrugated cardboard giving it the necessary thickness and rigidity. The tray 55 can also have one or more circular cutout (s) or other shape in which a receptacle for storing office accessories and writing instruments can be inserted and immobilized.

As described above, the panel 57 of the base 56 on which the plate 55 rests has on its upper edge 61 two connecting lugs 63 by which it is connected, conventionally by gluing, on the lower face 67 of said plate 55.

These connecting tabs 63 serve as a pivot articulation between the plate 55 and the base 56 for its folding against the latter in order to achieve a folded flat state as shown in FIG. 10 in which it is stored, packaged, transported and delivered.

As already described, the two sides 57 and 58 have two opposite central slots 59, 60 for their cross mounting at a right angle by sliding of the free face 58 which comes to nest at the bottom end stop 59 of the face 57.

In addition to the inexpensive appearance in material and in manufacturing time, this variant also has the advantage of a flat folded state in which the sides 57, 58 of the base 56 and the plate 55 are brought into overlapping overlap. The setting in volume is easily obtained by unfolding the two sides 57,58 to their erected position crossed at right angles. Under the effect of this movement, the plate 55 connected to the pan 57 by the connecting lugs 63 straightens automatically in the inclined position of use.
