Eine Hilfe bei dieser Einstellung stellt das weit verbreitete Verkehrsfunksystem dar, bei welchem Sender, die Verkehrsinformationen senden, Kennsignale ausstrahlen. Beim Suchen von Sendern wird bei Autoradios mit geeignetem Decoder dann nur bei Verkehrsfunksendern angehalten. Außerdem wird noch ein Bereichskennsignal übertragen. Der Mikrocomputer 10 vergleicht die Koordinaten mit in der Liste 14 zu den einzelnen Gebieten G gespeicherten Minimal- und Maximalkoordinaten, so daß das Gebiet G ermittelt wird, in welches die jeweiligen Koordinaten x, y fallen. Dabei kann auch die Bewegungsrichtung durch Differenzbildung zwischen aufeinanderfolgend ermittelten Koordinaten x, y berücksichtigt werden.
