Abstract

This safety dustbin is noteworthy in that it has a surface with a single insertion orifice (P5b) for all products, and two separate receptacles, namely: a receptacle (R1) for inflammable products and a receptacle (R2) for burning products; the said receptacles being arranged so that the inflammable products cannot be inserted into the receptacle (R1) except by a deliberate action on a member (V) for closing off this receptacle, and so that the burning products thrown onto the insertion surface (P5b) cannot actuate the closing-off member and are automatically directed into the receptacle (R2). <IMAGE>

Description

The object of the invention relates mainly to receptacles arranged in public or semi-private places to receive paper, cardboard, newspapers and other easily flammable products.

In public places such as streets, squares, gardens, station or administration halls, supermarkets, shopping malls, schools ... it is common to find bins intended for collecting all kinds of products, mainly paper and other combustible materials. Similarly, in certain halls of buildings, there are sometimes these types of receptacles intended for the use of the occupants of the building, but also accessible to other people.

The main disadvantage of these bins is that the papers they contain can be easily ignited by incandescent cigarettes thrown willingly or not, with all the consequences that this implies especially when the main body of the bins is not in material non-combustible.

In an attempt to solve this problem, we have proposed trash cans equipped with an ashtray, but generally the opening for the passage of papers is always accessible to ignited products.

The trash can according to the invention was therefore created to avoid as much as possible any risk of deliberate or involuntary fire caused by incandescent butts or other ignited products.

For this, and according to a first characteristic, the bin according to the invention consists of a surface with a single orifice for introducing the products and two separate receptacles, namely: a receptacle for products flammable and a receptacle for ignited products: said receptacles being arranged in such a way that flammable products can only be introduced into a first receptacle by a voluntary action on a shutter member of this receptacle and that ignited products and thrown on the introduction surface can not actuate the shutter member and are automatically directed into the second receptacle.

According to another characteristic, the shutter member of the receptacle for flammable products, the surface for introducing various products and the receptacle for ignited products, at least, are made of non-combustible material.

These characteristics and others will emerge from the following description.

Figure 1 is a perspective view with partial section illustrating a first embodiment of the bin according to the invention in the open position with receptacle for ignited products separated.

Figure 2 is a sectional view of the bin according to Figure 1 in the closed position and equipped with a plastic bag for receiving flammable products.

Figure 3 is a partial sectional view on a larger scale seen along line 3-3 of Figure 2 and showing an example of retaining plastic bags.

In order to make the object of the invention more concrete, it is now described in nonlimiting embodiments illustrated in the figures of the drawings.

According to an important characteristic, the bin designated as a whole by the marker (P), consists of a first receptacle (R1) intended to receive flammable products (papers, newspapers, advertising leaflets, packaging, etc.) and d 'a second receptacle (R2) independent of the first and intended to receive inflamed or incandescent products (cigarettes, matches) which can be deliberately or involuntarily thrown in the trash.

According to a first embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 and 5 in particular, the receptacle (R1) is directly formed by the bin (P) which for this purpose comprises a rear panel (P1), a bottom panel (P2), two panels side (P3), (P4) and a front panel (P5) hinged at its lower part (P5a) to the side panels to constitute an unloading door.

The bottom panel (P1) is extended at its upper part by a flap (P1a) at the end of which is freely articulated a shutter member or flap (V) intended to come to bear when the front panel (P5) is closed against an extension inclined (P5b) of said panel thus constituting a surface for introducing flammable products into the receptacle (R1) by simple pushing on the flap (V) with pendulum movement.

After the products introduced into the receptacle (R1) have fallen, the flap (V) or shutter member comes to bear against the extension (P5b) by simple gravity or by means of a return spring.

If a person throws a flaming product such as an incandescent cigarette butt on the insertion surface (P5b), it rolls on the inclined surface, abuts against the shutter member (V) but cannot do it pivot due to its low weight.

The butt then passes through one of the multiple openings (P5c) made at the end of the extension, immediately behind the flap (V) and then falls into the receptacle (R2) which is suitably suspended under the extension of the door, for example sliding between an internal cleat (P5d) and a folding (P5e) of the door, in order to be extracted for emptying when the door is open (broken lines in figure 2).

Note that to force cigarette butts or matches to pass systematically through the openings (P5c), these are separated by cloths inclined in the transverse direction.

The door (P5) is preferably retained in the open position by means of the chain type (C) and can be fitted with suitable closing means. such as lock (S), spring cleat, latches, magnets, padlock .....).

As illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, the receptacle (R1) for flammable products can consist of a plastic bag (SM) secured in the internal volume of the bin by any means such as clips (CR) for retaining the edges of the bag on profiled cleats (TP) fixed on at least the two side panels (P3) (P4).

According to another variant, illustrated in FIG. 5, the product introduction surface, or extension (P5b) can be produced in the form of a chute with in its middle part at least one opening (P5f) for the passage of cigarette butts .

Other embodiments of the trash can be introduced without departing from the scope of the invention. For example, as seen in FIG. 4, the receptacles (R1) and (R2) can be extracted from the envelope of the trash can by lateral or front openings (P6) (P7) established in section profile of said receptacles .

The body of the bin can also be made in two nestable parts, one forming the receptacle (R1) and the other carrying the receptacle (R2).

According to another alternative embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the door (P5) hinged to the side panels near the mid-height, has a chute (P5b) for collecting cigarette butts and is hooked on closing by a return (P5g ) from the free end of the extension against stop blocks (PB) fixed on the side panels. The receptacle (R2) is simply placed in abutment by its flanges (R2a) against support fingers (DS) also fixed on the side panels. The receptacle (R1) can be established in the form of a handle tray easily removed from the envelope when the door (P5) is open.

It can also be noted that the bin can be with or without a base or with suspended fixing (against a wall, a post, a barrier, etc.), that it can have other general shapes such as cylindrical.

According to other embodiments illustrated in Figures 8 and 9, the introduction surface (P5b) and shorter to leave between its end and the shutter shutter (V) bearing against the receptacle (R2) or ashtray, a space (e) intended for the passage of flammable products (this eliminates multiple openings). In this variant, we also see that the ashtray (R2) rests in the bin body on lateral V-shaped supports (P5h)

On the other hand, if the number of sheets of paper balanced on the insertion surface (P5b) is small, their weight is insufficient to rotate the shutter member. To still allow them to fall into the receptacle (R1), provision is made to provide a corresponding space between said shutter member and the receptacle (R2), a space which does not allow cigarette butts to pass. This space can be achieved by a step (R2b) of the ashtray or by bosses (Figure 9).

Of course, the elements which may be in contact with the ignited products are made of non-combustible material. In practice, only the insertion surface (P5b), the shutter member (V) and the receptacle (R2) must be fireproof, which makes it possible to lighten the bin and therefore make it easy to handle by the use of plastic materials in particular.

The advantages and possibilities of use are apparent from the description.

Claims (16)

-1- Safety bin for various products characterized in that it has a surface with a single opening orifice (P5b) for all products and two separate receptacles, namely: a receptacle (R1) for flammable products and a receptacle ( R2) for flaming products; said receptacles being arranged in such a way that flammable products can only be introduced into receptacles (R1) by a voluntary action on a member (V) for closing this receptacle and that ignited products are thrown onto the surface of introduction (P5b) cannot actuate the shutter member and are automatically directed into the receptacle (R2). -2- Trash can according to claim 1, comprising an envelope with rear panel (P1), bottom panel (P2), side panels (P3) (P4) and front panel (P5), characterized in that it has at the 'before a door (P5) hinged to the side panels (P3) (P4) and retained in the closed position and in the open position by any appropriate means. -3- Trash can according to claim 1 characterized in that the envelope consists of at least two interlocking parts, one of the parts forming the receptacle (R1) and the other carrying the receptacle (R2). -4- Trash can according to claim 1, characterized in that the receptacle (R1) is formed directly by the envelope (P). -5- Trash can according to claim 1, characterized in that the receptacle (R1) consists of a plastic bag suitably secured inside the envelope (P). -6- Trash can according to claim 1, characterized in that the receptacle (R1) consists of a removable container housed in the envelope, extractable laterally, frontally, by openings in the envelope or from above after opening the door . -7- Trash can according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the receptacle (R2) is placed, retained or fixed by any means inside the front panel or the door (P5), immediately in above the introduction surface (P5b) communicating with it through at least one opening, -8- A trash can according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the receptacle (R2) is placed, retained or fixed by any means between the side panels (P3) (P4) immediately below the surface d introduction (P5b) communicating with it through at least one opening. -9- Trash can according to claims 1, 7, and 8 together, characterized in that the product introduction surface (P5b) consists of an inclined plane extending from the front panel or the door (P5), with at l 'end against which rests the shutter or shutter member (V), multiple openings (P5c) with inclined partitions ensuring by gravity the passage through the receptacle (R2) of flaming or incandescent products thrown on the surface (P5b). -10- Trash can according to claims 1, 7 and 8 together, characterized in that the introduction surface (P5b) of the products is constituted by an inclined plane in extension of the front panel or the door (P5) and whose end is located at a distance (e) from the obturating member (V) allowing the passage of the ignited products in the receptacle (R2) -11- Trash can according to claims 1, 7 and 8 together, characterized in that the introduction surface (P5b) of the products consists of a chute extending from the front panel or the door (P5), with at point further down an opening (P5f) ensuring the passage through the receptacle (R2) of flaming or incandescent products thrown on the surface. -12- Trash can according to claim 1, characterized in that the shutter or shutter member (V) is held in abutment against the end of the introduction surface (P5b) by its own weight. -13- Trash can according to claim 1, characterized in that the shutter or shutter member (V) is held in abutment against the end of the introduction surface (P5b) by an elastic return means. -14- Trash can according to claim 1, characterized in that the introduction surface (P5b), the shutter or shutter member (V) and the receptacle (R2) at least are made of non-combustible material. -15- Trash can according to claim 1 characterized in that it is placed on the ground, provided with a base or arranged to be fixed in suspension. -16- Trash can according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the receptacle (R2) has a bearing face against the shutter or shutter member (V) with a recess (R2b) allowing only passage through the receptacle (R1) of a limited number of sheets of paper.
