Definitions
- the present invention relates to a swimming pool cover, in particular for outdoor swimming pools.
- Such covers consist of a textile-reinforced plastic film and can be rolled up onto a tube which can be rolled up and down over the longitudinal edges of the pool by its ends resting on the longitudinal edges of the swimming pool.
- this pipe along with the plastic film rolled up on it, lies on the edge at one longitudinal end of the swimming pool.
- the pipe with its two end areas must be rolled over the edge of the pool, the plastic film being rolled over the pool and remaining there.
- the film is reinforced with cross struts so that it does not sag where it extends freely over the water. These cross struts can be arranged on the top or bottom of the cover.
- the cross struts also apply as little as possible to the edge of the pool.
- it also contributes to the aesthetic appearance of the cover when it lies as flat as possible on the edge of the pool.
- the cover rolled out over the swimming pool must be secured so that it stays in place even in strong winds. As soon as it is not lashed down tightly, it can cause annoying fluttering noises under the influence of wind or even be blown away in storm winds. In addition, it must be ensured that a person stepping on the cover due to carelessness is carried safely by it. For this purpose, it is tensioned in the longitudinal direction with belts and in the transverse direction with rubber straps.
- Piping seams are present on both end sides of the cover, in which on the one hand the tube to be rolled and on the other hand the one on the other side stationary tube are inserted.
- these two tubes are braced away from one another by means of at least three belts.
- the pipes themselves are enclosed by tension belts.
- the associated parts of the straps are attached to the floor by drilling a hole in which a pin, which is bent at the top to form a rectangular loop, is inserted slightly tilted away from the pool. The strap end is fastened in the loop, which carries a buckle with a riddle on the other side.
- the part of the straps attached to the rollable tube is led through the corresponding riddles buckle for lashing and then tightened.
- the clamping force then acts on the rollable tube and finally over the entire width of the cover.
- the cover is secured on the transverse sides by usually having a reinforced hole between the cross struts in the edge area, through which a gag can be inserted, to which a rubber strip is attached.
- the rubber strip is then stretched around the head of a retractable flat-head pin which is used in the pool edge area. If a pool is now 7 meters long, for example, a total of over a dozen such rubber straps must be stretched.
- a swimming pool cover which is characterized in that it has only means for securing the longitudinal edges, by means of which it can be stretched along its two longitudinal edges in the immediate vicinity of the ground in the use position, in such a way that the edge regions along the longitudinal edges are tired everywhere on the Lie on the edge of the pool.
- this swimming pool cover according to the invention is that the effort for lashing down and lashing is considerably reduced.
- the tensioning force acts directly near the ground, which has not been the case until now when the tensioning straps enclose the cross tubes at the ends.
- the tension applied in the center of the cross tubes and therefore not immediately near the ground.
- the longitudinal edges of the film could not lie snugly on the edge of the swimming pool.
- FIG. 1 shows the swimming pool cover 1 according to the invention in the closed state in a perspective top view. It consists of a textile-reinforced plastic film 2 with cross struts 3, and, at the ends of its broad sides, pipes 5, 6 inserted into the piping seams 4 there.
- the pool edge 7 is indicated with dashed lines.
- the cross struts 3 are arranged below the swimming pool cover 1 so that they carry the plastic film 2. By their special, later described version, the cross struts 3 are largely below the upper edge of the edges 7 of the swimming pool, whereby the cover 1 is particularly flat and almost flush with the pool edge 7 in the closed state on this.
- the cover 1 is a little wider than the length of the cross struts 3, so that the areas 8 along the longitudinal edges 9 can lie snugly on the edge 10 of the swimming pool. These edge areas 8 are reinforced by turning them over and welding the envelopes. On the end sides of the cover 11, 18, the welt seams 4 for receiving the tubes 5, 6 are of such a length that they leave the edge regions 8 or the envelopes at the longitudinal edges 9 free.
- the ends of the edge areas 8, or the envelopes on the longitudinal edges 9 of the cover 1, are provided with metal or plastic eyelets 12.
- the tension belts 13 can be hooked onto these eyelets 12 by means of hooks 14.
- the tension belts 13 also have an eyelet 15 at their other end, which can be hung there on a retractable flat-head pin 16.
- a tensioning buckle 17 is installed in each of the tensioning straps 13, by means of which the tensioning straps 13 can be tensioned with leverage.
- the tensioning belts 13 only have to be provided with tensioning buckles 17 on one side 11 of the cover 1, namely where the rollable end is located.
- the edge regions 8 of the longitudinal edges 9 can be fixed in place on a retractable flat-head pin by means of an eyelet. In the closed state of the cover 1 shown, the edge regions 8 lie on all sides Edge 10 of the pool.
- the edge areas 8 along the longitudinal edges 9 are very strongly stretched directly on the floor. The lashing in the transverse direction by means of rubber stripes is eliminated, as a result of which a clean, continuous along the longitudinal edges 9 is achieved.
- the rollable tube 5 itself can also be tensioned in a conventional manner, so that the middle region of the swimming pool cover is tensioned and this is tensioned as evenly as possible over its entire surface.
- the tensioning buckles 17 are released, after which the hooks 14 of the tensioning belts 13 can be detached from the eyelets 12 and the eyelets 15 can also be detached from the retractable flat-head pins 16.
- the tensioning belts 13 can then be put aside and no longer interfere, while the flat-headed pins 16 are sunk into the ground and only their flat heads protrude.
- the cover 1 can be rolled back by rotating the tube 5 in a known manner, either by hand using a crank handle or using a motor.
- the preparation of the cover therefore only requires the loosening of at least two tensioning buckles 17 and the removal of the corresponding tensioning belts 13.
- the laborious loosening and removal of the many rubber stripes on the long sides of the cover is eliminated.
- lashing down is much easier after the cover has been unrolled by merely hooking in the tensioning belts 13 which act at least along the edge regions 8 of the longitudinal edges 9 and need to be tensioned by means of the tensioning buckles 17.
- FIG. 2 shows an example of a tensioning buckle 17 which enables tensioning by means of leverage. It has a frame 20 with a U-shaped cross section, in which a bracket 21 designed as a lever is pivotably mounted. The frame has cutouts 22, 23 in its base and the bracket 21 has a crosspiece 24 at its end region. One part 27 of the tensioning straps 13 is fastened at one end of the frame 20 around a web 29 formed there, the other part 28 is looped through the frame 20 and around the crossbar 24 on the bracket 21 in the manner shown. On the two flanks of the bracket 21 there is a bulge 25 in the form of an elongated knob 25. A further knob 26 is located on the inside of the flanks of the frame 20.
- bracket 21 If the bracket 21 is pivoted downwards from the position shown, it acts as a lever in relation to the tensioning force deployed in the process.
- the long knobs 25 are finally pressed over the knobs 26 and then engage behind them, as a result of which the tensioning buckle 17 is secured in the tensioned position.
- FIG. 3 shows the swimming pool cover according to the invention half rolled up.
- a cross strut 3 can be seen on the outside of the roller 30.
- These cross struts 3 consist of aluminum tubes 31 of approximately 40 mm in diameter, from the edge region of which in the axial direction a chrome steel round rod 32 of significantly smaller diameter than the aluminum tube 31 protrudes.
- These chrome steel round rods 32 are inserted into pockets 34 which can be seen here and which are welded onto the lower edge region 33 of the cover.
- FIG. 4 shows a detailed view of such a cross strut 3 on a rolled cover.
- the film 2 of the cover 1 is only shown in dashed lines, because the main thing is to show the design of the cross strut 3, which is located under the film 2 and carries it.
- the cross strut 3 consists of an aluminum tube 31 with a special cross section. In the longitudinal direction of the tube 31, a round groove 35 with an inner diameter of approximately 10 mm is in fact recessed on the outside thereof. A chrome steel round rod 32 of the same diameter is inserted into this round groove 35 on both end sides of the tube 31. The chrome steel round rod 32 projects beyond the aluminum tube 31 on both sides by approximately 150 mm and is inserted into the round groove 35 by approximately the same amount.
- the two round bars 32 rest on the edge of the swimming pool 10 and are, however, with a diameter of only about 10 mm strong enough to bear the weight of the aluminum tube 31 and the film 2 lying thereon. So that the round rods 32 cannot jump out of the round grooves 35 under heavy load, a securing collar 37 is placed over the aluminum tube 31, which prevents the round groove 35 from expanding under load.
- a securing collar 37 is placed over the aluminum tube 31, which prevents the round groove 35 from expanding under load.
- the pockets 34 are also indicated, which are welded onto the underside of the covering film 2 and into which the round rods 32 are inserted.
- the mass of the aluminum tubes 31 and the round rods 32 are held such that the aluminum tubes 31 are left a few centimeters between their ends and the edge of the swimming pool 10, so that these ends do not touch this edge 10 when they are rolled up and down.
- plastic caps 36 are placed over the ends of the aluminum tubes 31, which have a corresponding hole for receiving the round rods 32.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a swimming pool cover, in particular for outdoor swimming pools. Such covers consist of a textile-reinforced plastic film and can be rolled up onto a tube which can be rolled up and down over the longitudinal edges of the pool by its ends resting on the longitudinal edges of the swimming pool. When the swimming pool is exposed, this pipe, along with the plastic film rolled up on it, lies on the edge at one longitudinal end of the swimming pool. To cover the pool, the pipe with its two end areas must be rolled over the edge of the pool, the plastic film being rolled over the pool and remaining there. The film is reinforced with cross struts so that it does not sag where it extends freely over the water. These cross struts can be arranged on the top or bottom of the cover. In the case of smaller covers, unrolling and unrolling can be carried out by hand using a crank, similar to a store crank. With larger covers an electric motor with a correspondingly high weight is advantageously used. This electric motor can be arranged in the tube to be rolled in the manner of a blind motor or is mounted at the end of a removable operator rod and can be flanged to the end of the tube with its output shaft. At the push of a button on the operator pole, the motor rotates in either direction and the pipe is rotated accordingly and rolls on the floor. The plastic film is rolled up or down. In order to keep the torques required for rolling up and down low, the aim is to keep the diameters of the cross struts as small as possible so that they do not overly apply to the roll. For the same reason, it is also advantageous if the cross struts also apply as little as possible to the edge of the pool. In addition, it also contributes to the aesthetic appearance of the cover when it lies as flat as possible on the edge of the pool. Finally, the cover rolled out over the swimming pool must be secured so that it stays in place even in strong winds. Piping seams are present on both end sides of the cover, in which on the one hand the tube to be rolled and on the other hand the one on the other side stationary tube are inserted. When the cover is rolled out, these two tubes are braced away from one another by means of at least three belts. For this purpose, the pipes themselves are enclosed by tension belts. On the floor, somewhat away from the edge of the swimming pool, the associated parts of the straps are attached to the floor by drilling a hole in which a pin, which is bent at the top to form a rectangular loop, is inserted slightly tilted away from the pool. The strap end is fastened in the loop, which carries a buckle with a riddle on the other side. The part of the straps attached to the rollable tube is led through the corresponding riddles buckle for lashing and then tightened. The clamping force then acts on the rollable tube and finally over the entire width of the cover. The cover is secured on the transverse sides by usually having a reinforced hole between the cross struts in the edge area, through which a gag can be inserted, to which a rubber strip is attached. The rubber strip is then stretched around the head of a retractable flat-head pin which is used in the pool edge area. If a pool is now 7 meters long, for example, a total of over a dozen such rubber straps must be stretched. These rubber strips must be completely removed from the film before each roll-up, otherwise they would interfere with the roll-up process and the film could be injured. After unrolling, they have to be looped into the holes and attached to the pins. This elaborate clearing of the cover for rolling up and after the lashing in turn is quite cumbersome. In addition, the many rubber stripes disrupt the appearance and when assembled, the flat-headed pins create a risk of injury for people walking barefoot along the edge of the pool.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a swimming pool cover which overcomes the disadvantages mentioned above. In particular, it is the object of the invention to provide such a swimming pool cover which requires less work for securing and releasing and which looks more tidy in the unrolled state and is nevertheless adequately secured.
This object is achieved by a swimming pool cover, which is characterized in that it has only means for securing the longitudinal edges, by means of which it can be stretched along its two longitudinal edges in the immediate vicinity of the ground in the use position, in such a way that the edge regions along the longitudinal edges are tired everywhere on the Lie on the edge of the pool.
The advantage of this swimming pool cover according to the invention is that the effort for lashing down and lashing is considerably reduced. In addition, the tensioning force acts directly near the ground, which has not been the case until now when the tensioning straps enclose the cross tubes at the ends. Here the tension applied in the center of the cross tubes and therefore not immediately near the ground. As a result, with the conventional longitudinal bracing, the longitudinal edges of the film could not lie snugly on the edge of the swimming pool.
An exemplary embodiment of the swimming pool cover according to the invention is explained in the following description with reference to the drawings and its function is explained.

Figure 1 shows the swimming pool cover 1 according to the invention in the closed state in a perspective top view. It consists of a textile-reinforced plastic film 2 with
