Abstract

To produce patterned needled non-woven materials, a single or multi-layer needled material is formed into a velour web using crown and/or fork needles. At least one layer of textile fibres is overlaid to give at least one pattern, esp. using staple fibres, using fibres which are different from the carrier web in terms of colour and/or shape and/or material and/or thickness and/or orientation, wholly or partially over the surface. The combined material is further neddle bonded, so that the fibres on one side are passed through to be visible on the other side, to form piles generally on the under side of the web. - Pref. the preneedled non woven is of randomly laid fibres, or of oriented fibres aling the web length or laterally. The patterning fibre layer is laid wholly over the carrier web, or as one or more strips, or a number of shaped fibre sections, and the patterning fibres are oriented across the fibres in the carrier we. Staple fibres can be delievred to the carrier weby by a continuous or intermittent air stream, through a mouthpiece extending wholly or partially across the carrier web width, and a number of mouthpieces can be used to deliver fibre-charged air streams.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing a needled, structured and patterned textile velor web according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a method is known from US-A-4 047 269.

This document describes a method in which staple fibers are placed on a carrier web with the aid of blowing nozzles which are moved in accordance with a pattern to be formed, which are then connected to the carrier web by needling, the fibers differing in color from those distinguish the carrier web, are pushed through to the underside of the carrier web, which lies on a support and later forms the top of the material web in use. In this method, the base is formed by a plate with holes or slots through which the needles can pass during the needle operation. Those fibers laid on by the air flow, which were seized by the needles during the needling process, are then suctioned off, and then another needling is carried out in order to solidify the material web.

In one method, prefabricated surface patterns are applied in a specific arrangement to the visible side of a flat structure and connected to it by a needle process. In the second method, a second sheet-like structure is placed on a sheet-like structure and connected to the first sheet-like structure by needling in such a way that the fibrous structures pierced in a predetermined arrangement result in the desired pattern on the back of the same. In the third method, fibrous structures, such as slivers, applied to a sheet-like structure and connected to it by needling. The manner in which the carrier web is supported during the needle operation is not described.

From DE-A-34 44 763 a system for the production of structured textiles with velor needle felt webs is known, which consists of a mechanically or aerodynamically operating fleece laying machine, a pre-needle machine and a velor needle machine, in which at least the velor needle machine with one of the fleece to be needled carrying and serving as a stitch pad endless brush tape, which is composed of a plurality of brush plates carrying the tufts of bristles. Crown needles are used for the three-dimensional structuring of the pre-needled fiber fleece.

The invention has for its object to provide a method with which it is possible in a simple manner with the least possible outlay on equipment to produce versatile and also differently patterned textile nonwoven velor webs.

This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

It is preferable to use fork needles to produce the structured velor sheets. However, one can also or in addition to the fork in crown needles if the desired structuring of the carrier web requires this. In most cases, it is sufficient to use a single needle unit for the structuring, which may be equipped with two parallel needle bars.

Apparate. The carrier web can be produced from a wide variety of primary materials, either from a pre-needled non-woven fabric or a pre-needled nonwoven web with fibers oriented essentially in the longitudinal or transverse direction of the web. The primary material can be single or multiple layers. It is also possible that the individual layers Contain fibers that are oriented in very specific directions within the web. Such materials are produced in a manner known per se with the aid of machines or apparatus known per se.

The application of the fiber material required for the patterning of the textile needle velor webs can be done by placing a full or partial surface of a further fiber material web in strip form on the carrier web and then further treating it, as already stated. Instead of large-area or strip-shaped nonwoven webs, depending on the desired pattern, a large number of flat sections of a nonwoven web of the desired geometric shape can be placed on the carrier web, which then cover them in places.

If you regularly punch out a nonwoven web in repeat or irregular sections of any geometric shape, you can firstly apply the punched sections or the nonwoven web from which these were punched out to the carrier web.

In order to optimally obtain the desired patterning of the end product, the fibers have the like in the nonwovens applied to the carrier web or the like. flat fiber structures or their sections have an orientation that is transverse to the main orientation of the fibers in the carrier web. As a result, the fibers effecting the pattern are optimally grasped by the fork needles and pressed through the carrier web on the underside thereof, which is later the top side of the end product.

A further variant of the method according to the invention consists in that fibers or the like are formed on the carrier web in the form of a yarn or several yarns or rovings or slivers. deposits, but the fibers are so loosely integrated in their composite that they can be pushed through the carrier web with the help of the needles for patterning purposes. It may be the case with the yarns, rovings, fiber slivers or the like. are endless fiber structures or finite pieces of the same, which are deposited either tangled and irregularly or, if appropriate, also on the carrier web according to a predetermined pattern.

The yarns or pieces of yarn or the like. can be wound on spools which are mounted in a movable gate over the carrier web. They are deducted for the purpose of storage from the coil in an appropriate manner and how mentioned, confused or patterned on the carrier web. This can be done with the help of an air stream or, if necessary, with the help of mechanical throwing or depositing devices. It is also possible to provide for the mentioned purpose numerically controlled and movable over the carrier web support arms on which the bobbins of the wound yarn or pieces of yarn or the like. are stored.

Special or additional structural effects can be achieved in that instead of or in addition to loose yarns and the like. more tightly twisted yarns or pieces of yarn are used, which are pushed through the carrier web to form loops.

Instead of individual yarns, rovings or slivers or the like. it is also possible to place existing sheet-like structures on the carrier web which, for example, have loose fabrics in the form of a grid or loose knitted fabrics or the like. can be in which the yarns etc. are arranged in a straight line or in a curve.

It can be advantageous to cover the fibers applied to the carrier web, in whatever form and in whatever composite, with a further nonwoven web. This can be done before the single or a second needling stage. This ensures that the fibers used for the pattern are no longer recognizable as such from the back of the finished product.

To carry out the method according to the invention, a brush belt with the most homogeneous possible, from the tips of the Bristles formed surface so that the best possible support of the material web is carried out. Such a brush belt has become known from DE-OS 34 44 763. It has already proven itself extremely well in practice and is therefore also optimally suitable for the method in question, since there are no gaps or spots in the surface of the brush strip with a smaller or denser bristle population. Depending on the special requirements for the end product, the preliminary product or products that were formed to form the nonwoven web for the purpose of structuring it can be stretched in a manner known per se depending on the orientation of the fibers contained in the nonwoven or in other directions. This method is known per se and therefore requires no further explanation.

As already mentioned, for the final needling of the material web for the production of the end product, fork needles are used, in which the planes in which the forks are located lie transversely to the direction of those fibers which are pushed through the carrier web in the form of pile loops by the gift in should be. Depending on the specific requirements of the end product, crown needles or optionally other shaped needles can also be used in addition to the fork needles.

For needling the material web in the last needling stage, it is advantageous to attach the needles used here in groups to one or more needle bars that can be moved up and down, the individual needle bars together in time and synchronously or else asynchronously with one another or also individually and are independently movable. Decisive for the movement of the individual needle bar is in particular the desired pattern. It is important to change the distance between the needles and the plane of the fleece to be needled or the support surface of the carrier web during operation in the last needling stage, depending on the pattern to be generated. The needle units and / or the carrier web or their support can be adjusted mechanically or electrically or also hydraulically in the manner specified above.

In this context, it can also be provided that the needle bars are not filled with needles over their entire width, but only in places or areas, so that there are practically no limits to the variety of patterns that can be generated.

In this way you have every conceivable variation with regard to the pattern.
