Claims (5)

1. Adjustable holder (10), having a ball joint, for posts (1) which are to be detachably secured on a support member (16), comprising a housing (11), which is connected to the support member (16) and comprises two housing members (12, 13), and a ball end (4), which is connected to the post (1) and is accommodated in the housing (11), the housing members (12, 13) being clampable against one another by screw means (18, 23), characterised in that the housing member (13), facing towards the post (1), has a cap-like configuration and accordingly a flange portion (13a) and a moulded part (13b), which partially encloses the ball end (4) and is provided with a through-bore (14), in that the flange portion (13a) has through-bores (17) for a plurality of screws (18), and thy moulded part (13b) has an outer, hemispherical surface (13c), which extends concentrically relative to the ball end (4), and in that the post (1) is detachably connected to the ball end (4) so as to protrude through the through-bore ('14) and has a collar (2a), which covers the through-bore (14) in any desired pivotal position of the ball end (4) and is adapted to the outer, hemispherlcal surface (13c).

Adjustable holder according to claim 1, the support member being formed by a grid (16), which is provided with a plurality of parallel ribs (21) and corresponding slots (20), characterised in that the screws (18), which are provided for the mutual clamping of the housing members (12, 13), serve also to secure the housing (11) on the grid (16) and have, at their lower end, an elongate head (19), which is insertable through the slots (20) and can be brought into abutment against at least two ribs (21) after each screw (18) has been rotated through 90°.

Adjustable holder according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that, in order to connect the post (1), which has a sleeve (2), to the ball end (4), the latter protrudes with a pin number (5), which is firmly connected to the post, into a spacer ring (6), which is accommodated in the sleeve (2), and is securely clampable to said ring by means of radially disposed threaded pins (7), and in that the sleeve (2) is securely clampable against the outside of the spacer ring (6) by means of nuts (9), which are screwed onto the outer end of the threaded pins (7).

Adjustable holder according to one or more of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that substantially radially protruding extensions (15) are provided in a manner known per se on the side of one or both housing members (12, 13) facing the ball end (4) or on the surface of the ball end (4), said extensions having a greater hardness than the component part (ball end 4 or respectively housing members 12, 13) of the ball joint co-operating therewith.
5. Adjustable holder according to claim 4, characterised in that, when the housing members (12, 13) and ball ends (4) are formed from cast iron and are produced by casting, the extensions (15) are formed by lugs, which are homogeneously connected to the housing members and ball ends respectively.
