Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for storing liquid explosives in the form of an emulsion in water.
- the object of the present invention is, on the one hand, the dangers mentioned above, but on the other hand also the unnecessarily large transport of water and associated high effort to avoid divorce at the receiving location.
- the procedure according to the invention ensures that an explosive-water emulsion is always available for forwarding, which on the one hand contains so much water that risks during further transport are avoided with certainty, but on the other hand contains only so little water that any effort for transportation and the later excretion of excess and thus unnecessary water is avoided.
- the connection of the emulsion part via the bottom gap with the concentration part results in a system in dynamic condition, in which H ⁇ ⁇ w ⁇ h1 ⁇ ⁇ E is, where H is the height of the water in the concentration part, h1 the height of the emulsion in the emulsion part and ⁇ w and ⁇ E mean the density of the water or the emulsion.
- the dynamics of the system can be further improved in that one or more openings, for example bores, slots or the like, are provided in the partition wall at a height h 2 below the liquid level.
- the height h 1 of the emulsion is then defined as follows from the static part and the dynamic part of the flow loss through the opening at the height h 2: where ⁇ represents the concentration factor at the opening (s).
- a flow rate of receive is
- the flow rate increases with increasing specific weight of the emulsion. This means that, with less explosive in the water emulsion, less water flows through the opening or openings in the emulsion part and thus less emulsion gets into the concentration part through the bottom gap. This in turn means that a thinner emulsion in the concentration section has a longer concentration time than a thicker emulsion.
- By dimensioning the height h2 it is in your hand to influence the steepness of the increase in flow velocity, that is, to adjust the concentration time and the flow rate in the concentration section in the desired manner and to adapt it to the desired conditions.
- M Expl. Area E ⁇ ⁇ Lh ⁇ h1 ⁇ ⁇ Expl.
- area E is the cross-sectional area of the emulsion part and the other sizes have the meaning already mentioned.
- the container 1 is divided by the partition 2 leaving a bottom gap 3 in the emulsion part 4 and the concentration part 5.
- the bottom 6 of the emulsion part 4 is formed after the bottom gap 3 to gently sloping at a flat angle.
- the line 7 opens for the introduction of explosive or explosive-water emulsion and the two sensors 8 and 9 of the Density measuring device 10. Furthermore, the circulation device 11, which is designed here as a two-stage stirrer, is arranged in the emulsion part 4 and is driven in a known manner by means of the schematically indicated drive 12.
- the line 13 opens with a control valve 14 for the introduction of water. Furthermore, the level control device 15, 15a with overflow 16 is provided in the concentration part 5. As shown by the dash-dotted line, the level control device is functionally connected to the control valve 14. At the lower end of the concentration part 5 near the bottom 17, the outlet opening or the connecting piece 18 is provided for the removal of concentrated emulsion. Furthermore, the concentration part 5 has the connecting piece 19.
- the partition 2 is provided with one or more openings 20 of circular, slit-shaped or other suitable cross-section.
- the operation of the device described is carried out in such a way that the container 1 is first filled with water via the line 13 to a predetermined level.
- the agitator 11, 12 is then put into operation and the explosive or the explosive-water emulsion is introduced into the emulsion part 4 via the line 7.
- the speed of the agitator 11, 12 is expediently slow, for example over a period of time space of about 20 seconds, ramped up to the intended target speed and an explosive-water emulsion of predetermined density is generated in the emulsion part 4.
- emulsion Under the influence of the agitator 11, 12, emulsion subsequently passes from the emulsion part 4 through the bottom gap 3 into the concentration part 5. Since circulation or stirring is not carried out in this, the emulsion has the opportunity to concentrate in the desired manner while the explosive is being moved.
- the emulsion can be drawn off via the removal opening 18 and passed on for further processing.
- a system is obtained, for example, in which only emulsified explosive is present at all times and thus the risk is minimized. but in a defined manner preconcentrated explosive is fed to a transport injector, whereby used water is replaced via the level control 15, 15a and possibly discharged explosive in the form of pure explosive or in the form of an explosive-water emulsion via line 7, depending on whether it is batch-wise , discontinuous or continuous operation is provided or carried out.
- the connecting piece 19 could, for example, also be provided at a level above the opening (s) 20.
- the density of the emulsion in the emulsion part 4 which is deemed appropriate for this and its concentration in the concentration part 5, it may also prove expedient or necessary to determine the shape and cross-sectional dimensions of the bottom gap 3 and the opening (s) 20 differently .
- the bottom gap can be designed as a slot that extends over the entire width of the container 1 or as a slot of a correspondingly greater height that only extends over part of the width of the container 1. It is also conceivable that several slot-shaped openings are provided across the width of the container. In any case, regardless of the volume of the container parts, the height of the slot is always dimensioned so large that a closing of the bottom gap due to the surface tension of the explosive is reliably avoided.
- opening (s) 20 can be designed both in the form of a single or several slots or, preferably, also as one or more circular bores. It is essential that the total cross section of the opening or openings 20 and their arrangement in height h2 is correctly dimensioned or made according to the respective conditions.
Abstract
In the known methods and devices, the explosive for further transport to the processing point is removed from the emulsion by mechanical separation, which entails considerable dangers during further transport. A further transport of the unchanged explosive-water emulsion would be largely harmless, but it would involve a lot of effort because of the relatively large amounts of water. In order to eliminate these difficulties, the explosive-water emulsion is stored in a container which is formed from two parts which are connected to one another via a bottom gap and are filled with water up to a predetermined height, one part of the container being provided with a circulation element and in this under Continuous circulation of the explosive or an explosive-water emulsion is entered, the other part of the container is provided at the bottom with an opening for removing the emulsion concentrated to the intended extent and its upper area is connected to a water supply line.
Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for storing liquid explosives in the form of an emulsion in water.
Various methods and devices are known for storing explosives in the form of a water emulsion. These have facilities, e.g. a mechanical separator through which the explosive is removed from the emulsion for further transport to the processing point. The consequence of this is that pure explosive is present in these cutting devices, the further transport of which is associated with considerable dangers. Another disadvantage is that the separating devices cannot automatically adapt to the different concentrations of the emulsion, it being possible to assume that the decrease in the explosive should be constant.
The difficulties mentioned can be avoided by continuing to transport the explosive water emulsion unchanged. However, this means not only a relatively large effort for the simultaneous forced transportation of relatively large amounts of water, but also a relatively high effort for separating the water from explosive at the receiving point.
The object of the present invention is, on the one hand, the dangers mentioned above, but on the other hand also the unnecessarily large transport of water and associated high effort to avoid divorce at the receiving location.
The object on which the invention is based is achieved by the method specified in
The procedure according to the invention ensures that an explosive-water emulsion is always available for forwarding, which on the one hand contains so much water that risks during further transport are avoided with certainty, but on the other hand contains only so little water that any effort for transportation and the later excretion of excess and thus unnecessary water is avoided. The connection of the emulsion part via the bottom gap with the concentration part results in a system in dynamic condition, in which
H · ρ w ≅ h₁ · ρ E
is, where H is the height of the water in the concentration part, h₁ the height of the emulsion in the emulsion part and ρ w and ρ E mean the density of the water or the emulsion.
Depending on the intensity of the circulation process in the emulsion part and possibly also supported by a slight inclination of the bottom of the emulsion part towards the bottom gap, a more or less large part of the emul having the greater density occurs sion through the appropriately dimensioned floor gap into the lower part of the concentration part filled with standing water. Since the liquid is not circulated in this concentration section, the explosive with the higher density can increasingly settle in the water, ie the emulsion concentrates. This process continues until the concentration of the emulsion has reached the predetermined or predetermined value in accordance with the selected vehicles.
If no preconcentrated explosive-water emulsion is removed from the concentration part of the container, this flows back into the emulsion part due to its higher density and is emulsified again in this.
If, on the other hand, preconcentrated emulsion is removed from the concentration part, the process described above continues in a corresponding manner.
The dynamics of the system can be further improved in that one or more openings, for example bores, slots or the like, are provided in the partition wall at a
Since the first root expression at a given height h₂ represents a constant, the flow rate increases with increasing specific weight of the emulsion. This means that, with less explosive in the water emulsion, less water flows through the opening or openings in the emulsion part and thus less emulsion gets into the concentration part through the bottom gap. This in turn means that a thinner emulsion in the concentration section has a longer concentration time than a thicker emulsion. By dimensioning the height h₂ it is in your hand to influence the steepness of the increase in flow velocity, that is, to adjust the concentration time and the flow rate in the concentration section in the desired manner and to adapt it to the desired conditions.
ρE = ρw + ΔLH (ρ Expl. - ρ w)
By a density measurement in the emulsion part, the range of which is defined from 0 to 1, namely 0 for pure water and 1 for pure explosive, the density of the emulsion ρ E can be determined using the formula:
ρ E = ρ w + ΔLH (ρ Expl. - ρ w)
where ρ Expl. and ρ w mean the density of the pure explosive or the pure water and ΔLh the height difference between two density sensors in the emulsion part.
The total amount of the explosive in the concentration part then results from
M Expl. = Area E · ΔLh · h₁ · ρExpl.
where the area E is the cross-sectional area of the emulsion part and the other sizes have the meaning already mentioned.
The invention is shown in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment and is explained below with reference to this.
The
In the
In the

The operation of the device described is carried out in such a way that the
Under the influence of the
After the desired concentration has been reached, the emulsion can be drawn off via the
By connecting the described device via the connecting
The relationships shown in the drawing are only to be understood as examples. So it can be useful or necessary, depending on the type of explosive involved to realize a more or less large density of the emulsion in the
Depending on the explosive used in each case and the density of the emulsion in the
For example, the bottom gap can be designed as a slot that extends over the entire width of the
Similar considerations apply mutatis mutandis with regard to the opening (s) 20, which can be designed both in the form of a single or several slots or, preferably, also as one or more circular bores. It is essential that the total cross section of the opening or
In order to adapt to different conditions, for example when using different explosives, it is advantageous to make the clear cross section of the
Corresponding considerations naturally also arise in relation to the inclination of the
