Definitions
- Carbon paper is still used for particularly intensive copies and for making a large number of copies.
- the carbon paper copy is achieved through the balanced mixture of waxes, oils and colorants.
- a high number of copies with good intensity can be achieved with wax colors that are particularly soft, i.e. that their oil content is high.
- this affects the cleanliness of the copies due to unintentional mass transfer.
- the oil migrates into the paper and the color dries up.
- the object of the present invention was to find a way out of this dilemma and to improve the known wax / carbon paper masses in order to obtain stable duplicating papers which permit a large number of copies.
- this object is achieved in that at least part of the required oil is added in encapsulated form to the wax and carbon paper compositions based on waxes, oils and colorants.
- Another major advantage is the increase in the number of possible copies, usually by up to 100%.
- the oil-containing microcapsules can contain all of the oils commonly used in wax colors insofar as they are suitable for encapsulation. In addition, oils such as those used in microcapsules for chemical carbonless papers are also suitable. Microcapsules with a dissolved reactive dye or other dyes in spray-dried form are also particularly suitable for this application.

Abstract
The invention relates to wax compositions and carbon paper compositions based on waxes, oils and colorants, which contain at least part of the oil in encapsulated form.
Description
The production of wax and carbon paper masses for carbonless papers for single and repeated use has been known for over 100 years and has been improved and cheaper over the years.
However, there has been a decline in the use of carbon paper for some years. The reason is the narrowing price gap to the ever cheaper capsule papers.
However, it will not be possible to do without carbon paper for special applications. Carbon paper is still used for particularly intensive copies and for making a large number of copies.
Increased use of carbon paper could be achieved by improving quality and cheaper.
The carbon paper copy is achieved through the balanced mixture of waxes, oils and colorants. A high number of copies with good intensity can be achieved with wax colors that are particularly soft, i.e. that their oil content is high. However, this affects the cleanliness of the copies due to unintentional mass transfer. In addition, the oil migrates into the paper and the color dries up.
If you set the carbon paper color more firmly, the unintentional mass transfer is low, but the copying ability is reduced.
Die beiden Maßnahmen haben also gegenläufige Folgen. The two measures therefore have opposite consequences.
The object of the present invention was to find a way out of this dilemma and to improve the known wax / carbon paper masses in order to obtain stable duplicating papers which permit a large number of copies.
According to the invention this object is achieved in that at least part of the required oil is added in encapsulated form to the wax and carbon paper compositions based on waxes, oils and colorants.
This has the advantage that the coating is drier and cleaner with less free oil, that the impression of the paper is more complete than before, and that the encapsulated oil improves the shelf life and the migration tendency of the oil is significantly reduced.
- a) Wachse
Paraffin-Wachse
Polyethylen-Wachse
Carnauba-Wachs
Vaseline
Ozokerit
Wollfett
Esterwachse
Rindertalg
- a) waxes
Paraffin waxes
Polyethylene waxes
Carnauba wax
vaseline
Ozokerite
Wool fat
Ester waxes
Beef tallow
Microcrystalline waxes - b) oils
Mineral and synthetic oils with different levels of aliphatic, aromatic or naphthenic content, possibly with a content of solvents
Animal and vegetable oils - c) colorants
Carbon black is preferably used. However, other color pigments, in particular alkali blue brands, are also used. The use of soluble dyes is possible, but is unusual due to economic considerations.
The oil-containing microcapsules can contain all of the oils commonly used in wax colors insofar as they are suitable for encapsulation. In addition, oils such as those used in microcapsules for chemical carbonless papers are also suitable. Microcapsules with a dissolved reactive dye or other dyes in spray-dried form are also particularly suitable for this application.
All capsules which are stable against the components contained in the wax or carbon paper materials can of course be used as microcapsules; such capsules are state of the art.
The proportions of the waxes, oils and colorants correspond to those of the conventional mixtures, except that part of the oil according to the invention is added until the entire amount of the oil in encapsulated form. This can be 1 to 100, preferably 1 to 50 and in particular 5 to 10% of the total amount of oil.
Üblicherweise enthalten die erfindungsgemäßen Massen
10 - 60 Teile Wachs
1 - 30 Teile Farbmittel,
sowie gegebenenfalls noch Lösungsmittel. The compositions according to the invention usually contain
10 - 60 parts of wax
10 - 60 parts of oil, including 0.6 to 20 parts in encapsulated form, and
1 - 30 parts of colorant,
and optionally also solvent.
