Description

The invention relates to a multi-pole plug-in device with a centering bar that can be placed on a wiring board and serves to receive a plug, with a shielding device that is electrically connected to regions of a subrack holding the wiring board that are at ground potential.

From DE-OS 29 09 627 it is known that the centering strip of a plug device is provided with a metallic shield plate which extends essentially perpendicular to the plug direction and has openings for the passage of plug contacts or connecting elements. The shield plate is electrically connected directly or via fastening elements of the plug device to regions of a subrack which are at ground potential. A self-adhesive metal foil is used as the shield plate, which is glued to the side of the centering strip facing away from the connector. Increased signal processing speeds and thus stronger interference fields in the signal lines and the increasing number of poles in the plug connections require more effective shielding of the connectors, the connector strips and the centering strips.

The object of the present invention is to improve the shielding of the centering strip of a plug-in device and to keep the connection to the earth potential layer low-resistance.

This object is achieved in that the shielding device is formed by at least one separate shielding element with shielding surfaces aligned parallel to the plugging direction, which are at least approximately flush with the side surfaces of the centering strip and in that spring elements are arranged on the shielding surfaces in such a way that they are in the inserted state of the plug bear tightly against a shield of the connector.

The advantage of the invention is, in particular, that both the shielding of the centering strip and the electrical connection of the subrack, which is at ground potential, to the shielding of the plug device are carried out by a single shielding device which is formed by at least one shielding element. The almost form-fitting adaptation of the screen elements to the centering strip takes up only a small amount of installation space.

The development of the invention according to claim 2 provides for several in a suitable, i.e. A short distance apart, multi-pole plug-in devices represent a structurally simple and therefore inexpensive solution. Here, the two longitudinal shield surfaces of adjacent centering strips are combined in one shield surface. The shielding effect is not reduced by this configuration.

An advantageous development of the invention provides that the spring elements are bent back in the shape of an arc and lie in recesses in the centering strip arranged for this purpose parallel to the plug-in direction of the plugs. These spring elements and the projections locked in the recesses of the female connector ensure a secure hold of the shielding elements on the centering bar and prevent the shielding elements from being lifted when the plug is pulled.

A further advantageous development of the invention according to claim 8 provides recesses in the shielding of the cable connector, into which the spring elements engage and lie flush. The force of the spring elements makes it difficult to unintentionally lift the cable connector.

Two exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. Show
  • FlG 1 an embodiment for shielding devices for centering strips with any distance between the plug devices,
  • 2A and 2B show an exemplary embodiment of a shielding device for centering strips with a suitable spacing of the plug device.

Anstelle des dargestellten Kabelsteckers 4 kann auch ein Baugruppenstecker mit entsprechend angeordneten Kontaktflächen gesteckt werden.1 shows a wiring board 1, on which a centering strip 3, which is provided with a plurality of approximately rectangular openings 2, is arranged. The openings 2 serve for the passage of plug contacts (not shown) connected to the wiring board 1 and of mating contacts of a cable connector 4. Two metal shielding elements 5 are pushed over the centering strip 2 in the plug direction A indicated by arrows. Each screen element 5 lies approximately flush against the longitudinal outer surfaces of the centering strip 3, which extend parallel to the insertion direction A. The shorter legs of the shielding elements 5 bent at right angles at the centering strip end form the shielding of the end face of the centering strip 3. On the edges of the shorter sides of the shielding elements 5 which face the wiring board 1, fastening tabs 6 are formed which, perpendicular to the end face, extend as far as the centering strip 3 . The shielding elements 5 are fastened together with the centering strip 3 on a subrack 7 by means of screws 8 via these fastening tabs 6. This creates an electrical connection with the earth potential the subrack 7. The longitudinal inner sides of the shielding elements 5 have projections 9 which engage during the sliding onto the centering bar 3 in recesses 10 arranged therefor. The right-angled recesses 10 are located in the longitudinal outer sides of the centering strip 3, which extend parallel to the direction of insertion. Each opening in the centering strip 3 is assigned a recess 10 per screen element 5. On the edges of the shielding elements 5 facing away from the wiring board 1, spring elements 11 are formed at suitable intervals such that they lie in recesses 12 arranged for this purpose in the openings 2 of the centering strip 3. The spring elements 11 are bent back in an arc shape in such a way that, when the plug 4 is plugged in, they resiliently rest against its shield 13 and establish the electrical connection to the shield elements 5. The spring elements 11 snap into the semicircular inwardly curved recesses 13a of the shielding of the cable connector 4 during the insertion of the cable connector 4. Instead of the cable connector 4 shown, a module connector with correspondingly arranged contact surfaces can also be inserted.

A shows a further embodiment of a shielding element 14 which, in the case of an arrangement of a plurality of multipole plug devices, has a suitable, i.e. small distance between the centering strips is used. The elongated area of this shield element 14 takes over the shielding of adjacent longitudinal outer surfaces of centering strips. At the upper edge of this area of the screen element 14, spring elements 10, as described in FIG. 1, are designed such that they alternately engage in recesses in both adjacent centering strips arranged therefor. In addition, this area of the screen element 14 has projections 9 which, as shown in FIG. 1, snap into recesses in a centering strip. In contrast to the shielding element 5 according to FIG. 1, this shielding element 14 is bent at right angles at both ends in order to achieve the shielding of the end faces of the centering strip. Fastening tabs 6 extending at right angles to these end faces are arranged in the direction of the centering bar. The fastening lugs 6 serve for the common fastening of the screen element 14 with the centering bar on a subrack.

Die Befestigungslappen 6 sind, wie in FIG 2A beschrieben, angeordnet.2B shows an alternative to FIG. 2A, the shielding element 15 being bent at both ends at right angles but in opposite directions in order to achieve the shielding of the end faces of adjacent centering strips, which are again not shown. The fastening tabs 6 are arranged as described in FIG. 2A.
