Description

The invention relates to an insert for a cash drawer for receiving cash, banknotes and the like, in the form of a trough-like, open-topped receptacle with a lower shell and an upper shell used in the rear upper area thereof, which together form two superimposed receiving spaces, and with at least a hold-down device for holding down notes.

An application of this type is known from US-A-2 594 653. It is particularly suitable for use in the cash drawer of a cash register, because a comparatively large amount of money can be accommodated in the two superimposed receiving rooms without the insert being too large. This corresponds to the requirement that cash drawers should have short opening paths. However, the lower shell is partially covered by the upper shell, so that the rear area of the lower shell is difficult to access and the upper shell may only have a small depth. With this construction, therefore, vouchers are advantageously accommodated in the lower shell and hard cash in the upper shell, because despite their position in the covered part of the lower shell, the vouchers can still be gripped at their front edge and pulled out of the lower shell.

It has been shown that the known insert cannot be used satisfactorily, since the placement of small notes of value in the lower shell is hampered by the upper shell, and it is not uncommon for a bill to get stuck in the lower shell under the upper shell when the entire insert is emptied not noticed. Furthermore, the advantage of realizing a comparatively small stake for larger amounts of money can only be insufficiently put into practice because the depth of the upper shell in the sliding direction of a cash drawer is relatively small for the reasons mentioned above. On the other hand, it should be possible to store the banknotes as securely as possible, in order to make it difficult for unauthorized persons to remove them and to protect them against drafts, which can occur, for example, when the filled insert is transported from a cash register to a safe. This requirement speaks for a greater depth of the upper shell in the sliding direction.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an insert for a cash drawer which is constructed in such a way that its upper shell covers a relatively large area of the lower shell, but nevertheless the entire lower shell is freely accessible at will. At the same time, however, reliable removal of money, in particular from notes from the lower shell, should be ensured.

To solve this problem, an insert of the type mentioned is designed according to the invention in such a way that at least one hold-down device is held in the front region of the lower shell on the upper shell, for which purpose a guide rail is provided on the upper shell for slidably holding the respective hold-down device.

The older, post-published EP-A-121 710 describes the slidable mounting of hold-down devices in an insert for a cash drawer, but it is a simple insert that does not consist of an upper shell and a lower shell. The hold-down devices are attached to the back of the insert and serve to hold down banknotes in the rearmost area of the insert.

In contrast, the invention is a construction in which the hold-down devices on the upper shell are provided in such a way that they hold the notes of value in the front area of the lower shell, so that there is no covering of the lower shell by the upper shell. This design of an insert for a cash drawer makes it possible to provide the upper shell with a comparatively large depth in the sliding direction. Values, regardless of their length, can always be kept within reach in the lower shell, since they are fixed in the front area of the lower shell by the at least one hold-down device, which is still freely accessible. Since one or more hold-down devices can be moved on the guide rail on the upper shell, this function can be adapted to the amount of money present in the lower shell, and at the same time parts of the lower shell can be exposed by pushing the hold-down devices aside in order to be able to withdraw money more quickly and conveniently if necessary guarantee. If a hold-down device is provided for each type of note in the lower shell, the notes of value are reliably secured against unauthorized access and against drafts, even if the insert is removed from a cash drawer and transported to another location.

If the guide rail is arranged at a distance from the side wall of the upper or lower shell at at least one end, the number of hold-down devices on the guide rail can be varied. The hold-down devices are simply pushed onto the free end of the guide rail within the receptacle and brought to the place intended for them.

Since one or more hold-down devices are slidably held on the upper shell when used according to the invention, it is expedient to combine this adjustability with the possibility of designing differently sized money compartments. The use is then advantageously further developed such that the Un terschale and / or the upper shell are / is divided by parallel to the sliding direction of the cash drawer, in insertion openings, preferably grooves, insertable partition walls, the shape of the partition walls of the lower shell being adapted to the contour of the underside of the upper shell. This further development allows the compartments of the lower shell and / or the upper shell to be varied simply by repositioning individual partition walls, so that a large number of different compartment sizes can be realized.

The transverse part walls of the insert or receptacle can also be at least partially constructed like the longitudinal part walls. The transverse part walls are advantageously articulated on the upper edge of the side walls of the receptacle with pivot pins and can be locked in the bottom part thereof by means of anchoring tongues by means of a pivoting movement.

  • Fig. 1 eine Draufsicht auf den Schubladeneinsatz,
  • Fig. 3 den Schnitt III-III nach Fig. 1 und
  • Fig. 4 den Schnitt IV-IV nach Fig. 1.
An embodiment of an insert for a cash drawer according to the invention is described below with reference to the figures. Show it :
  • 1 is a plan view of the drawer insert,
  • 2 shows the section 11-11 of FIG. 1 in an exploded view,
  • Fig. 3 shows the section III-III of Fig. 1 and
  • 4 shows the section IV-IV according to FIG. 1.

Auch hier kann sowohl die Aufteilung, als auch Fächergröße variiert werden.1 shows a drawer insert 10 which is rectangular in plan view and has vertical side walls 12, 14, a vertical rear wall 16 and a front wall 18. As shown in FIG. 3, the front wall 18 slopes downwards, so that this results in a trough shape which is known per se for drawer inserts of this type. An upper shell 20 can also be seen, which is inserted into the rear upper region of a lower neck 22. The upper shell 20 is divided by longitudinal partial walls 24 which are parallel to the sliding direction of the cash drawer. These longitudinal part walls 24 can be inserted into or taken out of receptacles 26. In this way, the division or size of the money compartments can be varied. The lower shell 22, like the upper shell 20, is divided by dividing walls 28 which are parallel to the sliding direction of the cash drawer. These can be inserted from above into grooves 29 which run from the upper edge of the front wall 18 over the floor to approximately half the height of the rear wall 16 ( see also Fig. 3. Here, too, both the division and the size of the compartments can be varied.

Outside the area of the upper shell 20, the lower shell 22 has a section with a reduced depth starting from the upper container edge 48 (FIG. 2); this can be seen from FIG. 2. This section 30 of the lower shell is provided with transverse part walls 32. These transverse part walls 32 are articulated on the upper edge of the two walls 14 and 34 of the container section 30 of the lower shell 22 with pivot pins 62 and, in the bottom part 36, as can also be seen in FIG. 4, can be locked by means of anchoring tongues 38 (FIG. 4) by pivoting movement.

Fig. 2 shows the section 11-11 of Fig. 1 in an exploded view. From the figure it can be seen that the upper shell 20 can be inserted into the lower shell 22. Upper shell 20 and lower shell 22 then together form two separate receiving spaces one above the other. During assembly, the upper shell 20 is snapped into the lower shell 22. For this purpose, locking lugs 40 are provided on the one hand on the rear wall 44 and on the side walls 46 of the upper shell 20, and on the other hand 22 recesses 42 are arranged in the rear wall 16 or in the walls 12 and 34 of the lower shell so that the upper shell 20 when inserted into the lower shell 22 locked with the locking lugs 40 in these recesses 42. The receptacles 26 into which the longitudinal part walls 24 are inserted can also be seen in the upper shell 20. At 29, only a few grooves 29 of the lower shell 22 are shown, into which the partition walls 28 (FIG. 1) are inserted. Outside the area of the upper shell 20, the lower shell 22 has the section 30 with a reduced depth starting from the upper container edge 48.

The upper edge 50 of the container is formed on the rear wall 44 and on the two side walls 46 as a laterally projecting flange which overlaps the upper edge 48 of the lower shell 22 at the support locations. This ensures, together with the recesses 42 and the latching lugs 40 which latch in these, a firm hold of the upper shell 20 in the lower shell 22.

Fig. 3 zeigt den Schnitt III-III nach Fig. 1. The lower shell 22 and the upper shell 20 inserted into it can be seen. An L-shaped guide rail 52 is formed on the front part of the upper shell 20. A holding part 54 of a holding-down device 56 is slidably held on this guide rail 52. The holding part 54 has a hollow profile which is complementary to the L-shape of the guide rail 52 and which engages around the guide rail 52 essentially in a form-fitting manner, so that the holding-down device 56 can be displaced transversely to the sliding direction of the cash drawer. In this way, the position of a respective hold-down device 56 can be adapted to the selected compartment division of the lower shell. The guide rail 52 is arranged at at least one end at a distance from the side wall of the upper or lower shell. In this way, the number of hold-down devices 56 can be varied even when the upper shell 20 is inserted, since either hold-down devices 56 can be removed or, if required, can also be attached. A hold-down arm 58 can be pivoted upward on the holding part 54. When swiveling upwards, the hold-down arm 58 is pulled into an upper removal position after overcoming a dead center position. This enables one-handed operation of the hold-down devices 56. At 29, one of the grooves 29 can be seen, which extends from the upper edge of the front wall 18 over the floor to approximately half height of the rear wall 16 runs. A partition 28 is inserted into this from above. The shape of this partition 28 is adapted to the contour of the upper shell 20. A longitudinal partial wall of the upper shell 20 is shown at 24. This partial wall 24 can be latched in the receptacles 26 with pins 60. By means of these longitudinal part walls 24, as with the partition walls 28 of the lower shell, the division or the size of the individual compartments can be varied.

Of course, it is also possible to store the longitudinal partial walls 24 of the upper shell 20 in grooves or to latch the longitudinal partial walls 28 of the lower shell 22 with pins in receptacles. The latter has the advantage that the (partially elastically deformable) longitudinal part walls 28 can be clipped out of the receptacles by bending and displaced without first removing the upper shell 20.

Fig. 4 zeigt den Schnitt IV-IV nach Fig. 1. This sectional illustration shows the section 30 lying outside the region of the upper shell 20, which has a reduced depth starting from the upper edge 48 of the container. The bottom 36 of the lower shell 22 is designed to rise in this area in the direction of retraction of the cash drawer. The transverse part walls 32 at the upper edge of the side walls 14 and 34 (FIG. 2) of the section 30 of the lower shell 22 with the pivot pins 62 are articulated in receiving grooves 63 transversely to the direction of entry of the cash drawer and can be locked clockwise in the bottom part 36 by means of the anchoring tongues 38 by pivoting movement . It can be seen that the transverse part walls 32 are provided on their rear side with an additional, curved, flexible wall part 64, through which the compartments at their transition from the floor 36 to the transverse part wall 32 are given a curved shape, similar to the shape as given by the Front wall 18 (Fig. 3) is formed. This additional wall part 64 can be designed as a thin-walled flexible surface which is pressed against the transverse partition wall 32 in the base 36 when the transverse partition 32 is locked. The bottom 36 of the section 30 of the lower part 22 is advantageously excluded at the contact points of these additional wall parts 64 in accordance with their thickness.

A further guide rail 66 is attached to the rear wall 16 near the top edge 48 of the container, in the region of the section 30. This ends at such a distance from at least one side wall 14, 34 delimiting the area 30 that a further hold-down device 56 can be pushed onto it. After removing one or more transverse part walls 32, a further bill compartment can be set up in the area 30.
