Изобретение относится к созданию средств защиты от подделки документов, представляющих ценность, и маркированной продукции. Предложен способ защиты и идентификации документов и других объектов, основанный на формировании на поверхности объекта по меньшей мере одной защитной зоны путем нанесения на нее метки из люминесцентного материала, изменяющего цвет люминесценции при изменении условий наблюдения. Новизна предложения состоит в том, что в качестве люминесцентного материала используют материал, степень поляризации люминесценции которого при возбуждении линейно поляризованным светом изменяется от величин в диапазоне 0,5-0,25 до величин в диапазоне 0,2-(-0,33) при переходе от коротковолнового к длинноволновому краю спектра так, чтобы обеспечить различие цвета люминесценции при наблюдении ее во взаимно перпендикулярных компонентах поляризованного света. Материал защитной зоны выполнен, по меньшей мере, частично прозрачным и содержит неориентированные люминесцирующие центры по меньшей мере двух различных типов, обладающих различающимися спектрами люминесценции и различающимися значениями степени поляризации люминесценции при возбуждении линейно поляризованным светом. Люминесцирующими центрами могут являться сложные органические молекулы, либо редкоземельные ионы, либо частицы люминесцирующих пигментов. The protective zone material is made at least partially transparent and contains non-oriented luminescent centers of at least two different types with differing luminescence spectra and differing values of the degree of polarization of the luminescence upon excitation with linearly polarized light. Luminescent centers can be complex organic molecules, either rare-earth ions, or particles of luminescent pigments. Complex organic molecules of two types can also be used as luminescent centers.
