Abstract

Regulation of the fuel mixture ratio for a gas burner in which, during burner start-up, the rate of increase of the ionization signal is measured and compared with a reference value. When the rate of increase of the ionization signal varies by a predetermined amount from the reference value a new mixture ratio is set. The ionization signal corresponding to 70 to 100 percent loading of the gas burner is used as a reference value.
