Verfahren für ein rechnergesteuertes Vermittlungssysstem insbesondere Vernsprechnebenstellensystem zur Ermittlung einer, einer Teilnehmerperson zugeordneten Endgerätean­ schlußnummer in Abhängigkeit eines die Teilnehmerperson individualisierenden, aus alphanumerischen, insbesondere alphabetischen, Elementen bestehenden Identifikatoren, bei dem die Identifikatoren unter Zuordnung der Endgerätean­ schlußnummer in einer Speichereinrichtung des Vermittlungs­ systems gespeichert sind und bei dem mittels eines Eingabe­ organs eines Fernsprechendgerätes selektierte Elemente von dem System empfangen werden und bei dem Identifikatoren zur Ausgabe an einem Ausgabeorgan des Fernsprechendgerätes an dieses übermittelt werden dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß nach einem ersten Empfang von als abgeschlossene Sequenz ermit­ telten x Elementen diese in der Reihenfolge ihres Empfangs als Elementekette für einen Vergleich mit den jeweils von den ersten x Elementen der in der Tabelle gespeicherten Identifikatoren gebildeten Elementeketten freigegeben wer­ den, daß nach weiterem Empfang von jeweils als abgeschlosse­ ne Sequenz y von Elementen, diese jeweils in der Reihenfolge ihres Empfangs an die bereits freigegebenen x Elemente ange­ fügt und die damit gebildete z-stellige Elementekette an­ stelle der bisherigen für einen Vergleich mit den jeweils von den ersten z-Elementen der in der Tabelle gespeicherten Identifikatoren gebildenten Elementekette freigegeben wer­ den, daß bei dem Vergleich die Elementeketten auf Identität verglichen werden, daß bei einer ermittelten Identität je­ weils die Elemente des betreffenden, in der Speichereinrich­ tung gespeicherten Identifikators an das Endgerät zur opti­ schen und/oder akustischen Anzeige übermittelt werden und daß mit jedem zur Anzeige gebrachten Identifikator eine Betätigung eines Eingabeelementes am Endgerät überwacht wird, bei dessen Aktivierung eine Ermittlung der diesem Identifikator zugeordneten Anschlußnummer eingeleitet wird, die daraufhin einer Wahlbewertungseinrichtung übermittlet wird.1.
