E.L. Eliel, Stereochemistry of Carbon Compounds, McGraw Hill, 1962]. The compounds according to the invention can exist in stereoisomeric forms, for example, either like image and mirror image (enantiomers), or which are not behave like image and mirror image (diastereomers), or as Diastereomer mixture or as pure cis or trans isomers. The The invention relates to both the antipodes, racemic forms and mixtures of diastereomers as well as the pure isomers. The racemic shapes can be just like that Diastereomers in a known manner into the stereoisomerically uniform constituents separate [cf. E.L. Eliel, Stereochemistry of Carbon Compounds, McGraw Hill, 1962]. The separation into the stereoisomerically uniform compounds takes place for example via a chromatographic resolution of diastereoisomers Esters and amides or on optically active phases. Besides, one is Crystallization of diastereomeric salts possible.

The reactions can be carried out at normal pressure, but also at elevated or low pressure (e.g. 0.5 to 80 bar). Generally you work at normal pressure or at an increased pressure of 3 to 80 bar.
