Der Faltenbalg 17 ist im Arbeitsraum 42 angeordnet und steht mit der Nadel 18 in Wirkverbindung. Im Kanal 4 befindet sich der Faltenbalg 7, der mit einem federbelasteten Kolben 6 in Wirkverbindung steht. Hierfür ist eine Feder 8 sowie ein Stützring 9 mit einer Unterlage 10 vorgesehen. Im Raum 5 wird der Kraftstoff komprimiert. Der Faltenbalg 7 besteht hierbei aus einer Stahllegierung mit Nickel, Chrom, Titan, Mangan.
