Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and device for stimulation of the sense of hearing or of the face and hearing for the purpose of Brainwave synchronization. It is known that the Frequency of measurable brain waves (EEG) by external periodic Set stimuli to their frequency, i.e. can synchronize them. Because different brain frequencies with different consciousness conditions (sleep, exertion, relaxation) go hand in hand such stimulation is used to trigger relaxation, Suggestion or stress relief. According to the state of the art there is own devices ("Brainmachines") that use Microprocessor control periodic signals to a headphone and at the same time on glasses equipped with light sources.
This method has the disadvantage that the sonic design the sound impulse is very limited and therefore for the User quickly becomes tired or uncomfortable. In addition, the Sound generated by the microprocessor is annoying because it mostly does music played together with the sound impulses for relaxation with tonal disharmonies.
Another disadvantage: Since the waveform of the generated tones is one Legal form is like turning a hard one on and off corresponds to the harmonic content, especially at low frequencies e.g. B. 2-10 Hertz, mainly higher frequencies Brain waves are stimulated, which then have the desired effect prevent.
The object of the present invention is a method and device which overcomes the disadvantages mentioned. This is achieved according to claim 1 in that any sound signal ( 1 ), for example a music signal, is amplitude-modulated in time with the synchronization frequency by means of an amplitude modulator ( 2 ) or amplifier with controllable gain (VCA), the modulator or VCA being based on the synchronization frequency is controlled, for example by a microprocessor ( 5 ).
The one impressed by the amplitude modulation of the Muaik The synchronization frequency can be heard indirectly. this causes physiologically an even more effective synchronization than one simple sequence of sound pulses, since the carrier, in this case the Music is subject to constant change.
The sound signal can be according to claim 2) z. B. from one to that Device built-in cassette player originate or also according to claim 3) from an additional Walkman connected to the device. The amplitude modulator can be built in for that Generation of the synchronization frequency provided Microprocessor device, or can be in its own housing be housed, which has a connection to existing "Brainmachines" enables.
To avoid the harmonics mentioned above, after Claim 5 an R-C link provided which, for example, as Low pass is connected before the control input and the edges of the The switch-on and switch-off process bevels.
At the same time, a light source 10 can be provided for optical stimulation, which is attached to glasses 11 and is also controlled by the microprocessor 5 .
Ausführungsbeispiel, Siehe Fig. 1 (Ansicht) und Fig. 2 (Blockschaltbild).Embodiment, see Fig. 1 (view) and Fig. 2 (block diagram).
In the housing 1 there is a microprocessor 14 which controls the LEDs 16 via output 6 , which are arranged on the glasses 15 . From the Walkman 3 , the music signal reaches the device via the connection 2 , is modulated in amplitude in the modulators 10 and 11 , and reaches the headphones 13 after amplification in the amplifiers 12 .
