Abstract
Description
The invention relates generically to a shielding transport and shield storage containers for irradiated fuel assemblies from nuclear reactors and the like radioactive waste with elongated Container jacket, molded container base and attached container lid, all components made of cast iron, in particular of spherulitic Cast iron, or made of cast steel, which has a removable shielding covering surrounding the container jacket with a convection spacing and which can be set up vertically together with the shielding cover in the storage position on a bearing sole. The one made of cast iron or cast steel existing container on the one hand, the shielding cover on the other hand make the shielding transport and shielding storage container to a multi-shell container, at least in the storage position.
In einem sollchen Falle erfährt der vertikal aufgestellte Abschirmtrans-In the known, generic shielding transport and shielding storage container if the shielding cover is made of plastic, possibly with additions for the neutron absorption in particular. An additional The shielding covering cannot fulfill its function in terms of static or stability, since its wall thickness is only a few Is centimeters and, in addition, there is no support of the shielding cover on the bearing sole. The well-known shielding transport and shielding storage containers meet all requirements in terms of shielding technology and strength. This also applies in terms of thermal engineering when the shielding transport and shielding storage containers are in storage position on a storage platform be set up vertically and consequently an intensive heat exchange by convection can take place. However, this listing is endangered in geographical areas in which earthquakes of considerable magnitude can be expected. In the vertically positioned shielding trans-
Sie kann es auch aus festigkeitsmäßigen Gründen und rein geometrischen Gründen nicht.port and shielding storage containers from the vertical and the horizontal Acceleration due to gravity out stability stresses in the sense of tilting stresses. With the known shield transport and The shielding cover does nothing to prevent the shielding storage containers from tipping over. It can also do so for reasons of strength and purely geometrical reasons.
The invention is based on the object of providing a shielding transport and shielding storage container of the generic type, two-shelled in the manner described so further to train that the container in a vertical storage position on a bearing base an additional tilt protection learns.
Die wärmetechnischen Zusam-To solve this problem, the invention teaches that the shielding sheath is also designed as a reinforced concrete anti-tilt cylinder supported on the bearing base, the outer diameter of which is around is a factor between 1.25 to 2 larger than the outer diameter of the container jacket, and that the tilt protection cylinder on the foot side and inlet openings and outlet openings for convection air at the top having. - The invention is based on the knowledge that the additional shielding function, which is part of the known measures is achieved via the plastic shielding, can also be met by concrete. Such a shield covering However, concrete can also function as an anti-tipping measure, if, according to the teaching of the invention, the outer diameter is larger by a factor between 1.25 to 2 than the outer diameter of the container jacket. Then one always achieves adequate radiation shielding, be it with respect to neutrons or with respect to to other radioactive rays. The thermal interrelationships
Zweck-Men’s connections are not disturbed, because the convection is over the Maintain inlet openings and outlet openings for the convection air provided on the foot and head side in the reinforced concrete cylinder. It goes without saying that reinforced concrete can be given adequate concrete and reinforcement measures Gives strength. Has the anti-tilt cylinder made of reinforced concrete an outer diameter that is a factor between 1.25 to 2 larger than the outer diameter of the container jacket, in this way it can be achieved that the container jacket, which is made of cast iron or cast steel, and the surrounding reinforced concrete shell are stable stop when the earthquake stresses that are common on this globe occur. The given factor will be the same Choose larger, the stronger the earthquake to be expected. It goes without saying that precautions must be taken to prevent such earthquake loads the container made of cast iron or cast steel does not slip out of the anti-tip cylinder. In addition there are several options. In particular, the convection distance can be selected so that the container is in the anti-tilt cylinder is kept sufficiently safe during a tilting movement by frictional engagement. For this it is only necessary to take precautions, that the convection distance has a width which corresponds approximately to 0.1 to 0.2 times the outer diameter of the container jacket. At the same time, this ensures intensive convection and thus an intensive supply of heat. But there is also the Possibility of placing the container in the anti-tilt cylinder, e.g. B. in the area of the container support pin, to be attached mechanically. Will the tilt protection cylinder is placed over the container in such a way that the container support pins also have to be passed, so that appropriate Grooves are cut out in the anti-tip cylinder. Purpose-
The anti-tilt cylinder is moderately provided with a molded or attached cover so that it can be used as a hood on the Cast iron or cast steel existing container can be placed.
The advantages achieved are to be seen in the fact that in an inventive Shielding transport and shielding storage containers ensure stability in the event of earthquakes, in other words, the stability against tipping is considerable has been increased. The anti-tilt cylinder works at the same time as a shielding cover and is more preferred Embodiment also natural convection. The anti-tilt cylinder only increases the center of gravity of the entire container insignificant, but increases the length of the lever arm, which is essential for the static moment, of half the outer diameter of the inner container jacket to half the outer diameter of the anti-tip cylinder. This increases the safety factor against tipping considerable, if necessary without difficulties up to a factor of 2.
In the following the invention is based on only one embodiment Illustrative drawing explained in more detail.
