Abstract

The signal transmission transmits voltages and/or signals between stationary devices in a rotatable part of the printing machine esp. stations arranged inside cylinders or drums. A transmitter is provided for electrically connecting the stationary devices and the rotary stations. At least one transmission channel of the transmitter has an electrically conductive fluid (14) in electrical contact with a contact (11) which rotates with part of the printer and with a stationary contact (12). The electrically conductive fluid (14) makes an electrical (DC) coupling between the devices to be connected. The transmitter may have a transmission channel with conductive fluid for each voltage and/or signal to be transmitted. The fluid (14) may be arranged in a ring shaped chamber (13) between a rotor (7) connected to the rotatable part of the printer, and a stator (8). One of the channels may provide a permanent monitoring of the transmission.
