Description
The present invention relates to a method for monitoring high-current glow discharges in a recipient for the treatment of workpieces, in which the workpieces first undergo a heating process and then subjected to the actual treatment and false discharges using an accumulating circuit arrangement by briefly interrupting the operating current !to be deleted.
Eventuell während des gesamten Prozesses auftretende Lichtbögen, die die Werkstücke nachteilig beeinflussen könnten, werden ständig beispielsweise durch einen Schnellschalter, wie er in der DE-AS 12 75 228 beschrieben ist, oder durch eine ähnliche Schaltung, die eine aufsummierendeWhen treating workpieces by means of high-current Glimriu r.tiadusiuen for nitriding, Metallizing, annealing, hardening, carburizing, decarburizing or the like of the workpieces are all in one Recipients heated up in a heating process, after which the actual treatment takes place. Possible arcs occurring during the entire process, which could adversely affect the workpieces, are constantly activated, for example by a quick switch, as described in DE-AS 12 75 228, or through a similar circuit that is a summing
Zum Festelllen derartiger lokaler Fehlentladungen ist bisher eine Bedienungsperson notwendig, die die Glimmentladung beobachtet und gegebenenfalls den Glimmentladungsprozeß abbricht.ίο Circuit arrangement used as shown in the FR additional patent specification 71 673 is described, switched off In this case, the feed current is switched off briefly, but after a short period of time, in which normally gets extinguished when an arc has occurred is switched on again as a result of incorrect discharges of arc ignition generally only occur during the heating process, during which, among other things, the surface of the workpieces through Dusting is cleaned. These false discharges also occur in a statistically distributed manner over the entire surface of the workpieces. During the actual treatment of the workpieces following the heating process normally no false discharges should occur. It has now been found that during the actual treatment following the heating up anyway Arcs that occur preferably at the same point occur, d. This means that this is not a statistically distributed but a local arc so that In the long run, local overheating of the workpiece occurs at the point where the Arc ignited This can destroy the workpiece. Have such local arcs their cause, for example, in not removed oil, which z. B. is in holes in the workpiece or in voids or the like. A switching device responding to faulty discharges can be triggered if it occurs Such (occlusal erroneous discharges do not protect the workpieces in the long term, since the erroneous discharges do not occur statistically distributed everywhere on the surface of the workpieces as in the heating process. To the Establishing such local incorrect discharges has hitherto been necessary for an operator to conduct the glow discharge observed and possibly interrupts the glow discharge process.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es daher, ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung der eingangs genannten Art zu schaffen, die es ermöglichen, Werkstücke bei der metallurgischen Behandlung gegen Beschädigungen durch lokale Fehlentladungen zu schützsn und dieThe object of the present invention is therefore to provide a method and a device of the type mentioned at the beginning Kind of creating that make it possible to protect workpieces in the metallurgical treatment against damage to protect by local false discharges and the
so Glimmentladungsbehandlung ohne Beaufsichtigung durch Bedienungspersonal durchführen zu können.so to be able to carry out glow discharge treatment without supervision by operating personnel.
This object is achieved in that, according to the invention, every faulty discharge occurs in a pulse shaper stage a signal that is defined in terms of time and amplitude is generated and that after termination The number of signals occurring during the heating process is added up during a predeterminable time interval and when a likewise predeterminable number is exceeded, the operating current is interrupted and / or a Fault message is issued.
Die bei der eigentlichen Behandlung der Werkstücke auftretenden Fshlentladungen werden somit erfaßt und der Glimmentladungsprozeß gegebenenfalls abgebrochen, wenn bei einer größeren Anzahl von auftreteidenThe sensory discharges occurring during the actual treatment of the workpieces are thus detected and the glow discharge process may be interrupted if a larger number of occur

Fehlentladungen handelt, die zur lokalen Überhitzung und dadurch zur Zerstörung des entsprechenden Werkstücks führen können, wobei während der eigentlichen Behandlung der Werkstücke kein Bedie nungspersonal erforderlich ist, das den GlinmentladungsprozeB beobachtet Faulty discharges are involved, which can lead to local overheating and thus to the destruction of the corresponding workpiece, with no operator being required to observe the glazing process during the actual treatment of the workpieces
So that the method according to the invention does not have to be started separately at the end of the heating process, the totaling of the Fehlentladun conditions can already be made during the heating process , the specified number of incorrect discharges occurring, when exceeded, the glow discharge process is aborted and / or a fault message is issued is chosen so large during the heating process that no shutdown can occur, whereby it is lowered as a function of the process taking place, for example in accordance with the course of the temperature or the time. By the latter can be simultaneously achieved in that the glow discharge is made in a particularly strong occurrence of fault discharges during the heating process, a cancel. This also ensures additional protection of the workpieces during the heating process, which is especially important for automatic operation of the glow discharge treatment
A device for performing the method can operate either analog or digital. A device that works on analog is therefore characterized by a component with a downstream comparator, the second input of which is connected to a comparison voltage and the output of the comparator is connected to a switching element . The comparison voltage can be set using a potentiometer .
A digitally operating device may through a is counter with a variable adjustable threshold value be characterized for counting the signals, which is coupled to a quenching device which periodically after a set time clears the contents of the counter At and its output connected to a switching member is

The WGCjlied is connected to one input of a comparator 4 b5, the other input of which is connected to a potentiometer 5. By the potentiometer 5 is a comparison voltage U is vg ge'iefert i, the / for adjustment of the sensitivity of the device is variable If the comparison voltage U vg i of the voltage across capacitor 3 is exceeded, then ran: the comparator 4 an output signal at its Ausgitng A , which leads to the abortion of the glow discharge process because the output A of the comparator is connected to a disconnection element (not shown), for example a ·; Relay is connected

Wii; from FIG. 2, when a pulse 7 arrives from the high-speed switch and appears at input 1 and whose voltage is higher than the comparative voltage U vg i , which is indicated by a straight line 8, the voltage on capacitor 3 increases corresponding to the rising curve segment 9. The capacitor 3 then discharges via the resistor 2 in accordance with the curve section 10. If a large number of pulses 7 follow one another, the voltage on the capacitor 3 increases continuously, as in the right half of FIG. 2 is indicated. If the voltage on the capacitor 3 exceeds the comparison voltage U yg i, the comparator 4 supplies the switch-off signal. The time constant of the ÄC element must be selected to be relatively large so that the device is sufficiently slow and the comparison voltage Uvgi can be reached in the desired period of time. However, such a device does not work with fixed successive time intervals, but the time interval is shifted accordingly, since the capacitor 3 can always discharge again between the pulses 7.
According to FIG. 3, a device is used to monitor high-current glow discharges, in which the number of glow discharges that occur, if the glow discharge process is exceeded, is changed according to the temperature by taking a temperature measurement in the recipient, for example on the surface of the workpieces to be treated The voltage i'Jft resulting from this temperature measurement is subtracted from a predetermined positive comparison voltage U ° ygi which is applied to the second input of the comparator 4 via resistors 5 ', 5 ", the resulting differential voltage being the The comparison voltage U yg i given to the comparator 4. Since the temperature in the recipient is small at the beginning, practically only U 0 YgI comes into play when the target temperature is reached, asymptotically into a Gera de 8 corresponding to the comparison voltage U vg i from F i g. 2, The part of the nominal curve 11 running parallel to the time axis corresponds to the steady-state operation of the glow discharge during the metallurgical treatment of the workpiece, during which normally no faulty discharges should occur. During the heating, however, statistically distributed arcs often occur, which lead to the capacitor 3 being charged. The voltage across the capacitor 3 is exemplified by the curve 12, which lies below the target curve 11. However, should a disproportionate number of false discharges occur in the recipient during the heating process, as shown in the time interval tu h in FIG 3 take place, which also aborts the glow discharge process
ses oder eine Störmeldung bereits während des Aufheizprozesses vorgenommmen wird, so daß die Werkstücke auch beim Aufheizprozeß vor allem beim vollautomatischen Betrieb der Glimmentladung zusätzlich geschützt sind.ses or a fault message is already made during the heating process, so that the Workpieces also during the heating process, especially in the fully automatic operation of the glow discharge are protected.
It is also possible that it is provided that the resistor 2 or the capacitor 3 or both be changed in accordance with the process.
Um diese digital arbeitende Vorrichtung entsprechend der Vorrichtung von F i g. 3 auch während des Aufheizprozesses verwenden zu können, können di entsprechenden Ausgänge des Zählers für die Zahlen 2A digitally operating device is shown in FIG. 5, in which the input 1 for the pulses coming from the high-speed switch is connected to a counter 20 which is used to count the pulses triggered by the incorrect discharges.
