Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a computer system and a method for operating a computer system for automatic In Formation transmission with at least one data processing processing unit, a first output unit and at least an input unit comprising client system and a we at least one data processing unit and at least one Memory comprehensive server system, the client system and the server system via corresponding data line means are coupled to one another and are designed such that after entering appropriate commands using the input Unit request signals from the client system tion of certain, stored in the memory of the server system ter data of the first kind generated and forwarded to the server system are directed, whereupon the requested data of the first kind automatically transmitted to the client system and on the first Output unit are output, the client system too in addition to the requested data, additional data automatically first type and data of at least one other type be communicated.
So bestehen z. Such systems or methods are not known. Is known it simply gives the client system data upon request to transmit first data type and data of a second data type teln. So z. B. some websites or homepages both from text and text intended for display on a screen Graphic data (data of the first kind) as well as out again given by means of appropriate sound output devices sound data. The data of the first and second type are included but components of the respective homepage or website forming data set, so that the operator of the client system inevitably with the query of such a homepage both Requests data of the first as well as data of the second type.
Now it is often desirable to have a computer system operate in such a way that it is possible for the client system In addition to the requested data, further data will be received read without submitting or playing the requested affect data.
The task is solved by a method with the features of claim 1. Advantageously, the method z. B. then if the first output unit is a screen, it operates ben that the client system as data of the first kind Text and / or graphic data that can be displayed on the screen and as Another type of data on the screen automatically as Video data appearing sequence of moving images transmitted become. This enables the client system to automatically act to receive up-to-date information in the form of moving images sen. Controls the computer system e.g. B. a machine, the Client system from the server system current machine data transmitted on the screen of the Client systems are displayed, so it allows the invention Process, e.g. B. the Cli in dangers or problem situations ent system automatically corresponding pictures, z. B. Pictures of an automatically activated surveillance camera len so that a technician monitoring the screen immediately can take appropriate action. Like doing the Kopp client system and server system, is for the Process of the invention without concern, since the process the has great advantage, if any coupling of client and Server system can be used. Client and Ser ver system can e.g. B. directly via appropriate wire or Optical fibers but also indirectly via intra or internet with the interposition of one or more mediation rights be paired.
The method according to the invention can be particularly advantageous in the cases in which the client system is used has a second output unit, by means of which sound data can be output as a result of audible sound signals. Then it can Computer system namely operated so that the client system displayable as data of the first type on the screen Text and / or graphic data and other types of sound data transmitted and by means of the second output unit automa be made audible as a sequence of tones. In the mentioned Case of using the system to control a machine or a plant, can then z. B. acoustic alarm signals generated automatically on the client system.
Also for completely different uses of the system, e.g. B. in the communication between an Internet user and the The method according to the invention can use corresponding servers be used advantageously, e.g. B. acoustic to the user Information in the form of music or spoken language to come, then expediently the additional data of the first type transmitted for the requested data contain information about the transmitted data of another kind and automatically output on the first output unit become. So that it is z. B. possible, the client system music and at the same time information about the music listened to transmit, it being possible to proceed advantageously that the information about the data of another kind only then are output on the first output unit when the Output of further data has already started or if the transmission of further data to the client system to the extent that the output of the data of another kind can start.
In certain applications, it has proven to be useful indicated, also during and / or after the transmission of the data another type of information about data containing this data first type to the client system and auto there to output matically. In this way it can advantageously be safe that even if only a short one at the beginning the transmission of other types of data transmitted and e.g. B. Displayed note about the data of another type of egg ner operator of the client system was not noticed or if the operator verifies the content of this notice has eaten the possibly very important information can be perceived at least one more time.
If the first output unit is an image screen, so the information about the data can be further Kind in the form of an information window on the screen be. Such an information window can be part of the requested derten data of the first kind, e.g. B. part of a website or Homepage, where such Fen be called banners. The window can also be a window overlaid on the data actually requested and then just briefly in particular on the screen appear in an open form; in other words, the process can be operated so that the size of the window automa table changes between two sizes, e.g. B. one for egg A brief note in the appropriate size in writing ("Window opened ") and in a small, just a small symbol (Icon) showing size z. B. in the taskbar of each Operating system. The information window can also be part of a for other instructions or operating symbols on the screen seen notice or control window, and the informa More information about the data can be found in the note ster in particular in the form of a continuous text the.
Optionally, it can be provided that the size of the window in both sizes by entering appropriate commands the input unit of the client system can be changed, especially in such a way that the window is completely closed. It can be expediently provided that by closing of the window, the transmission of further data automa table is ended.
In a special, advantageous implementation of the Procedure that is particularly considered in the cases in which the computer system to be operated according to the invention Is part of an intranet or the Internet, can be featured see that in the window, especially in the background of the Window, in addition to the information about the data of another type more information is displayed. It is the information of another kind z. B. to music, so in the window firstly information such as title and artist are displayed, on the other hand, for example, the back with a logo of the record company or with other information, e.g. B. Advertising for third parties be.
In particular, but also in many other applications purposes of the computer system to be operated according to the invention can at least in an advantageous development of the method a portion of the window is then permanently monitored be whether a selection command by means of an input unit will give, then such a selection command automatically converted into a request command and sent to the server system is forwarded, which then further data transmitted from one of its memories to the client system. So it is e.g. B. possible, the just mentioned logo as a so-called. To design a button or link that an operator of the Client systems deliberately by means of an input unit, e.g. B. egg Select your mouse ("click") and so more data from Server system can request.
The other data of the first kind can be part of the data requested derten data of the first type containing data record, so that on the part of the server system he does not have different data records must be linked together in the most But it is so possible - and with some types of data and / or large ones Amounts of data also extremely useful - if the other data first type form a separate data set and with which the requested data of the first type containing such data are linked so that they automatically when requested be transmitted with.
For some uses, especially when the ver drive to operate a part of the internet forming com putersystems can be used before submitting the Another type of data is queried whether the client system can receive and / or receive other types of data would like to.
In the latter case, but also in other cases, in which the most varied of client systems are used in the above there is no information with a server system be coupled, it is advantageous to the data of another type in various data formats in the memory of the server system to file and then before the transmission of the data another type of query to check which data form mat is preferred by the respective client system, and the data of another kind from the server system automatically into the to transmit its preferred data format to the client system.
Does the server system include at least two memories and two Data processing units, the data of the first type in stored in a memory and a data processing managed, and the data of the second kind in one whose memory is stored and from another data ver work unit can be managed if requested by Data of the first type is the data managing the data of the second type processing unit automatically activated by the server system which then directly or indi transmitted directly to the client system.
If identical data of the second type is stored on several memories filed and administrated by several data processing units tet, the data processing units for administration of identical data of the second kind with each other directly or in be coupled directly, which allows an egg to be overloaded ner data processing unit automatically another data activate processing unit, which then the data second type to the client system.
The method according to the invention has the great advantage, too to be able to be carried out so that on the part of the server system automatically information about the transmission of the Data of the second type are recorded. It can then, for example automatically assign the duration of the transmission, in particular the amount of the transmitted data of the second type are recorded. Alternatively or in addition, it is also possible to provide information via the client system, in particular its access path to the Server system or - especially with certain Internet connections cases of the inventive method of large inter esse - to record billing data so that, for. B. a user zer of the client system, the certain chargeable data requested by the server system, e.g. B. a certain music ti tel in a storable form (so-called downloading), then receive or receive a corresponding invoice corresponding amount from him z. B. on the phone bill can be moved.
It is also possible to at different times of the day one and the same requested data of the first kind to transmit second type of data.
There are several in the memory (s) of the server system different records of the first kind and several under different data records of the second type can be stored one or more data records two assigned to the type and first when the data record is requested Kind to be transmitted to the client system one after the other.
Each data record of the second type can have a specific transmission number assigned to each whole or part wise transmission of the record decremented by one is, then records whose number of transmissions he is scooped, can no longer be transmitted. Alternatively it is also possible the number of whole or partial transmissions count of each record and the number of whole or partial transmissions with one for each da number of maximum transmissions same and when this number is reached the respective data sentence no longer to be transmitted. So it is possible for everyone the record exactly how many times it total over should be averaged.
Alternatively or additionally, the data records of the second type time intervals can also be assigned, with each da sentence of the second kind only within the or assigned to it ten time intervals / s is transmitted. This enables e.g. B. when using the system to control a machine Other information beginning or during the day shift transmit than during the night shift. When using the Systems in the Internet can be target group specific Note special features and e.g. B. during the usual office times other information is transmitted than according to Bü close, if there are mainly private users on the Internet dial in.
A combination of the last implementation for men allows you to specify exactly which one when Client systems which transmits data records of the second type should be, which is great in countless applications brings with it. If such a method z. B. to Operating part of the computer system forming the Internet used, target group-specific information can be too accurate defined times are transmitted; is the information to be transmitted for commercial information, this way, the person making the notification can determine in advance how many Client systems from his target group receive the information when should len. Also in other applications, e.g. B. with training courses tels of several client systems networked with a server system or that opens up for machine control method according to the invention innumerable advantageous uses keiten.
A computer system such as is used to carry out the method specified in the corresponding claims.
Further details and advantages result from the following description of some examples of use of the inventions Process according to the invention, the examples in no way as final list of possible uses understood may be.
A possible application of the method is the music promo tion on the Internet. Among other things, the method can do so be performed by the client system, on the part thereof a specific homepage was requested in addition to the requested data that can be displayed on a screen ster kind as data of another kind of music data transmitted be, in particular the so-called real audio format has proven, but the music in any other form data can be saved and transmitted. The playback the music then starts together with the construction of the homepage on the screen or shortly after. It has been advantageous proved if the music data from a specific trained so-called music or real audio servers and sent directly to the client system.
It is preferably provided in this application that the same early with or shortly after the start of music playback a message is displayed on the client system screen will, e.g. B. "Charttip - You will now hear the title x of the Inter preten y ". This hint can be part of a fix on the home page integrated so-called banners, in which always the same or alternating information is displayed. The Hin white can also be shown in a large or small window be seen that the display of the actual homepage device that only appears briefly and that then appears reduced so that a user of the client system does can open at any time, but that it is the display of the requested other homepage does not bother.
The information about the music that is currently playing can also be shown several times on the screen become, e.g. B. at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of one Title.
A problem with certain client systems with the window size of the opening, but if possible The Ver drive alternatively so that the Informatio nen in one at the edge of the screen of the client system without the information or menu bar provided the, and preferably in the form of a so-called continuous text (scroll text), in which the individual letters z. B. from run right to left through a window that is only ever open displays part of the total text to be displayed.
Especially if the information about the title in a banner can be displayed during playback of the title in the banner, if there is one for the title nes video are shown. Alternatively, it is also possible between or while displaying information about the Title in the banner or window for more information, ins to display special advertising for third parties, whereby then preferred a corresponding field is provided in the banner or window is that the user of the client system can click what then z. B. leads to the homepage of the third party.
A particularly advantageous implementation example provides that each client system successively several different Da second rate records are transmitted, e.g. B. First a first music title of, for example, 60 sec duration, then a second song from z. B. also 60 sec duration, then a spoken and possibly with music Commercial of z. B. 20 sec duration, which is again a music title connects. The method according to the invention the great advantage that it allows an exact determination, how much of the second type of data is actually sent to the client system were transmitted. The data of another kind can ready as an arbitrarily long freight train with the server system stand and sent to the client system one after the other the, whereby only those actually sent or sent coming wagons are counted. This makes it possible for the first time to record exactly who has which additional information and when has received, depending on the application, the "who" is not to the individual client system but e.g. B. on its way gear provider. An ad series bender who is a certain product, for example a be would like to advertise certain music titles e.g. B. determine that the title in total at 10,000 when on call a specific homepage to be transmitted, and z. B. 5,000 times to customers of provider A and 5,000 times to customers of provider B. Here, diffe be differentiated so that a target group specific informa transmission is guaranteed. Correct the title for example to rather younger users of the respective client systems, which preferably z. B. between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. communicate with the server system can be determined accordingly be that the title will only be transmitted during this time should.
To avoid that with the possible just described Procedure of the user of the client system who is not the music want to receive, only the corresponding output unit switches off and, for example, reduce the volume to zero graces what would cause the client system ended and also from the client system, but not from whose users counted received records and the order the process can be invoiced be carried out in an always open or an easily openable information window, a field is provided that the user can click on what the transmission then knows other data of the second kind is stopped immediately. Alternatively or in addition, a query can also be provided that the Client system user before transmitting data another type must first indicate whether he has this data wants to receive and / or can receive at all.
The method also allows the operation of an electronic one "Internet radio newspaper" in which a client system the Pro request grammatical data of a certain day and then additional Lich to the program data automatically z. B. film clips and receives music. For example, the program data ei specific channel as a list arranged one below the other are present, when the user of the client system in scrolls through the list, in each case to a specific one, e.g. B. colored underlying item of the list certain data of another kind are transmitted, e.g. B. always to the top of the list showed list.
When a played music track the user of a client system particularly like, it can be provided that, for. B. in an information window during or at the end of the title a query appears asking whether the user likes the title on egg appropriate memory provided in the client system wants to download from the server system (so-called downloading). If the user affirms this, the title is sent to the client system from the server system in an appropriate data format averages, whereby it can be provided that the client system automatically or correspond to its user by input identifying data to the server system in this way adorns that a settlement for the service z. B. is possible by moving in over the line costs. Doing It has proven itself for both capturing and billing as well as for downloading from the server system specially trained data processing units and ent speaking memory can be provided (usually Bil lings machine or download server), since this one particularly secure data acquisition or particularly fast Allow data transfer.
An example of operating in the manner described, the computer system designated in its entirety with 10 for the automatic transmission of information is shown in the schematic diagram attached. The computer system 10 is formed on the one hand by a client system which has a data processing unit 12 , a first output unit, namely the screen 14 , a second output unit, namely the loudspeaker 16 , a first input unit, namely a keyboard 18 and a second input unit , namely a mouse 20 , wherein the input and output units are coupled to the data processing unit 12 via appropriate Kabelmit tel 22 and the data processing unit is designed so that it can convert data into the respective output units controlling signals, which are then from the respective output units in the form of sounds or images (which also include letters). The computer system is further formed by a server system which, in this exemplary embodiment, consists of a total of five data processing units 24 , 26 , 28 , 30 and 32 , which are coupled to one another via corresponding line means 34 , each data processing unit 24-32 not here further memory shown. The client system is connected to the first data processing unit 24 , which here, for. B. can serve as a so-called homepage or website server, coupled via line means 36 . Calls a user of the client system by appropriate operation of the Eingabeein units 18 or 20 a stored in the server 24 to Home page, the server 24 sends the requested data and activated at the same time z. B. as a real audio server, the data processing unit 26 which automatically sends the data of the second type that is actually not requested by the user via corresponding line means 38 to the client system. If the real audio server 26 is overloaded, it can automatically activate the data processing unit 28 serving as a further, redundant real audio server, which then sends data to the client system via line means 38 . Would the user want e.g. B. download a certain video or a certain music title, the data processing unit 30 serving as the download server is activated either by the data processing unit 32 serving as the billing machine or by the homepage server 24 and sends the desired data via line means 38 to the client system, whereby, however, a code identifying the client system or its user was previously transmitted via line means 40 to the billing machine 32 , which then either immediately or in due time provided corresponding billing.
