Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for electronic Replica of harmonies of acoustic instruments.
A procedure for the electronic simulation of acoustic instruments is to record the sounds produced by the acoustic instruments and then processed electronically. The procedure is the Recording and processing between harmonies and individual tones too differentiate.
Sequenzen aufgenommen. When replicating typical accompanying instruments such as guitar, harp or Mandolins become the typical and succinct ones produced with these instruments Harmonies or tone sequences or sequences recorded.
The harmonies are mostly as a rhythm or plucked pattern completely as a sample saved and then processed or played with the sampler.
The individual tones of acoustic instruments, however, are recorded separately and, for example, directly the keyboard of electronic keyboard instruments assigned according to their pitch and retrieved from it by key.
The realistic reproduction of harmonies is particularly difficult acoustic rhythm instruments. These instruments sound simultaneously several tones in the form of a harmony. If the harmonies are processed into samples, the musical design options are extremely limited. At the push of a button the harmony is played at the pace of the recording and can only be slightly be changed by time stretching or pitch shifting.
In the case of recording and storing single tones, it is only conditional and with high expenditure possible, harmonies of acoustic rhythm instruments convincing to re-enact.
The object of the invention is to harmonize acoustic instruments electronically to reproduce and to maintain both the specifics of the reproduced instruments as the easy accompaniment of songs also for technical laypeople to enable as well as allow the rapid playing of harmonies.
An inventive solution to this problem is in the independent Claims 1 and 2 specified, developments of the invention are in the Subclaims marked.
The concept of the invention is that the characteristic Harmonies of the instruments to be reproduced were recorded electronically tone by tone and each saved as keyboard layout units. Then be the keyboard layout units with the individual tones of a harmony in ascending or descending pitch one after the other a specified range assigned to a keyboard. The different harmonies with the corresponding ones Keyboard assignments are also made using a keyboard or an appropriate one Switching option selected.
The advantages of the invention are that with the appropriate clay material very realistic electronic replica of acoustic instruments is possible and for example typical playing techniques such as rhythms or plucking patterns easily can be replicated.
Another advantage is that the user has the feel of each Instrumentes is imparted and only little basic knowledge about the replica Instrument are necessary. This also enables musical amateurs with little Effort to accompany songs.
Es zeigen:Further details, features and advantages of the invention result from the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the associated drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1 Ausschnitt einer herkömmlichen Tastatur eines Masterkeybords Fig. 1 section of a conventional keyboard of a master keyboard
Fig. 2 Vorrichtung zur elektronischen Nachbildung einer Gitarre mit einer Tastatur Fig. 2 device for electronic replication of a guitar with a keyboard
Fig. 3 portable device for electronic replication of a guitar
According to the invention, the electronic simulation of a guitar is carried out according to the following method:
The six tones of the harmony played on a guitar are recorded individually and stored electronically. The individual tones of a harmony are stored together as a keyboard assignment unit. This is preferably done on a CD-ROM or an internal electronic memory of the sampler. As an alternative to this, electronically recorded guitar rhythms or plucking patterns can also be broken down into individual tones by suitable software and subsequently stored electronically as keyboard assignment units.
For playing, the tones in the sequence of the strings lying next to one another according to FIG. 1 are assigned in ascending or descending order to a defined area of a keyboard. It is irrelevant what pitch the tones of harmony have to each other. The six tones of harmony lie on the keyboard 2 directly next to each other on the white keys on the keyboard.
The switching function for the different harmonies or keyboard assignment units is then assigned to another area of the keyboard 2 or a controller control panel. This makes it possible to change the harmonies or keyboard assignments. For the reproduction of a simple guitar accompaniment of a song in C major, for example, the six tones of the harmonies C major, G major, G7 and F major are recorded and saved as four keyboard assignment units. On the keyboard of a synthesizer, master keyboard or sampler, a key with switching function 3 is assigned to each keyboard assignment unit. It makes sense but is not necessary to arrange the four keys with switching function 3 on the keyboard 2 next to each other or to assign the harmony names to the key names. For example, the harmony in C major would be assigned to C and the harmony in G major to G on the keyboard.
If a key with switching function 3 is now struck, the corresponding keyboard assignment unit is activated and assigned to the defined area of keyboard 1 , similar to the grasping of a harmony on the guitar. Now the six tones of the guitar harmony can be struck directly next to each other on the white keys of the keyboard. This special arrangement of the individual tones of the harmonies enables the harmonies to be played back quickly. In addition, complicated plucking patterns are relatively easy to reproduce.
To change the harmony, the corresponding button with switch function 3 is pressed. The corresponding keyboard assignment unit is then placed on the same keys of the previous keyboard assignment unit, the defined area of keyboard 1 .
Furthermore, it is advantageously possible to adapt a conventional keyboard of a synthesizer in such a way that the tones of several harmonies are also placed side by side. At least two defined areas of the keyboard 1 are arranged side by side. This makes it possible to access the different tones of different harmonies at the same time.
In the following embodiment, the keyboard layout units are in one DSP chip programmed, which then in existing electronic keyboard instruments is installed.
According to the invention, the keys of the defined area of the keyboard 1 are occupied by the DSP chip with existing sound signals or samples from the wave memory of the electronic keyboard instrument. According to the essence of the invention, the pitch of the signals is independent of the key designation and taken together, the tones produce the desired harmony.
By doing this, other instruments or Groups of instruments such as wind instruments, piano or strings are combined in harmonies and can be used as keyboard layout units.
Another embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 2. In this example, a special keyboard 4 is used to emulate acoustic instruments according to the invention. This special keyboard 4 for the electronic reproduction of a guitar is equipped with at least the six keys for the tones of the six strings and also has at least three further keys or switches for selecting the harmonies (tonica, dominant, subdominant). In Fig. 2 the keys of the set area 1 are denoted for the keyboard layout units. Furthermore, the switches 5 are provided for the selection of the harmonies and further operating elements 6 , for example for the change of the cadenzas or the selection of rhythm underlays.
FIG. 3 shows a play aid that can be worn on a belt 10 for the simple accompaniment of songs in terms of playing technology by the electronic simulation of a guitar. The playing aid consists of a body 7 , which is preferably a guitar-like shape, a loudspeaker 8 for the reproduction of the tones played, switch 5 for the selection of harmonies, switch 6 for the selection of cadences and other sound manipulations and an invisible energy supply by means of batteries or electrical cable connection. The six strings of the guitar are visually indicated as bars with switching function 9 . The strips correspond to the defined area 1 on the keyboard in FIGS. 1 and 2 and are occupied by the keyboard assignment units. Touching the bars 9 triggers the reproduction of the tones. The portable play aid also has an electronic memory with the keyboard assignment units for various harmonies.
In a further embodiment, the strips with switching function 9 are replaced by strings. Striking the strings triggers the reproduction of the tones. The use of strings also gives a very detailed effect when reproducing a guitar.
To accompany songs, the musician selects a key with switch 6 and then presses switch 5 to select a harmony. Now, similar to sweeping over the strings of the guitar, the bars 9 with switching function or alternatively the strings with switching function can be touched and the harmony is heard from the loudspeaker 8 .
A switch 6 can also be used to select that the strips 9 are assigned a switching function according to a plucking pattern. Thus, by simply sweeping the bars 9 in one direction, the guitar harmony can be reproduced as if struck with a plucked pattern.
