- - The energy density of the laser radiation at the point of impact
- The extension of the point of impact (focus diameter) of the laser beam on the layer,
- - The feed rate of the point of impact of the laser radiation in the banding direction.
The Attempts were also made performed with different raw material powders.
- - When banding with low energy input of the laser beam and very low feed rate of the impact point of the beam on the layer in particular steel powder tends to merge into spherical clusters that merge more or less evenly. The contiguous solidified areas are partly holey and inhomogeneous. The surface quality of a molded article produced on the basis of such traces is not very good.
- - When banding with high energy input of the radiation in the powdery raw material occur effects such as strong uncontrolled evaporation of the material and the emergence of material stresses. The surface quality of a shaped body whose edge contour was formed with melting traces, which were produced with very high energy input and comparatively low feed rate of the laser beam, is also low. By increasing the feed rate with unchanged high laser power better results could be achieved in terms of the homogeneity of the coherently bonded material and with regard to the surface finish of the finished molded article.
The Results of the above-mentioned experiments for the production of melting traces or fusion strips for the purpose of producing moldings from powdered Raw material has suggested that it produces uniform enamel strips Cheap is, with relatively high laser power and with a minimum feed rate of the impact point of the beam on the powder layer in question. Of the Energy input by the radiation should therefore be large enough be that the material is locally heated so much that his Temperature safely exceeds the melting temperature. The feed speed of the point of impact of the jet should be chosen so that undesirable evaporation effects of the Materials as possible stay low. But even taking into account these results it is difficult to define the parameters in the process control so that satisfactory results in terms of material homogeneity or the Surface quality achieved become.
Of the Invention is based on the object, a method of the preamble of claim 1, which provide a uniform and homogeneous formation of contiguous consolidated areas and in particular of uniform and allows homogeneous edge contour strip.
This object is achieved according to a method with the features proposed by claim 1.
It has been found that the type of beam guidance proposed according to the invention makes it possible to produce very uniform weld beads or strips, wherein it is not necessary or even recommended that the raw material be heated substantially beyond reaching the melting temperature in the region of the impact point of the beam , Repeatedly irradiating the respective banding direction front region of the banding track results in efficient melting of the band However, undesirable material evaporation effects can be prevented by adjusting the laser power accordingly, so that the melting temperature is indeed reached in the irradiated area, but not significantly exceeded. In this way, not only a very uniform formation of the edge contour of the molding in a respective layer, but also a very uniform fusion of the outer surface of the molding forming solidification tracks with each other, so that the molding after completion has a low surface roughness.
Although a beam guide with in the longitudinal banding direction only and returning Strahlauftreffpunkt, especially in the edge contouring preferred It can, in the context of the invention with advantages in particular Im Regard to an easy way the strip width adjustment or optional strip width variation be provided that in the banding the beam relative So leads to the layer that in strip longitudinal direction forward and backward Movement component of the Strahlauftreffpunktes at least partially one transverse to the strip longitudinal direction reciprocating transverse component of the beam impact point is superimposed within the banding track.
The Concept of multiple exposure of a contour with in the relevant Contour track remaining impact point of the beam can be control technology or software without significant additional effort in comparison with conventional methods of the generic type realize. It can each required anyway for the description of the edge contour Geometry description data are used by these for the purpose a repeated irradiation of a track area each again be called to the beam deflector to guide the Jet accordingly.
It is synonymous in the context of the invention, whether to achieve of the desired Success moves the beam relative to the layer to be irradiated or if the layer is moved accordingly while the beam is held, around an overlapping repeated irradiation in banding direction to each other following track areas to achieve.
The inventive concept the track-wise irradiation of the layer in the banding direction moved back and forth Beam impact point is not only applicable to edge contouring, but in general also in the solidification of internal regions of the molding.
According to one Variant of the method according to the invention you lead the beam at the edge track formation so that the impact point at the respective backward movement steps at least half the distance of the immediately preceding Vorwärtsbewegungsschritte travels. In this way it is achieved that essentially every area the track is irradiated at least twice.
It it is possible, that one the layer at the backward movement steps with different radiant energy per unit time and area unit irradiated as in the forward motion steps. So you can, for example, in the backward movement steps with others Movement speeds of the impact point and / or with changed Extension of the impact point and / or with changed output power of Radiation source irradiate as in the forward movement steps.
The Width of the generated according to the irradiation concept according to the invention Solidification track can be limited in certain limits by the choice of power the radiation source, the extent of the impact point of the beam on the layer, the speed of movement of the impact point on the layer or / and the frequency the sweeping of the relevant track are modulated with the impact point. tries have shown that it is easily possible with a 60 W infrared laser about up to 1 mm wide, in itself homogeneous and densely formed solidification strip or weld beads to produce in stainless steel powder. Build such attachment strips layer by layer in a vertical direction to each other, so can be after the present invention, if necessary, very thin (in plan view projection one-lane or possibly multi-lane) walls that have good surface quality and are tight. The production of such filigree wall structures made of metals or possibly ceramic was so far only with considerable greater effort possible.
The invention also relates to an apparatus for carrying out the inventive method with the features of claim 8.
Dabei ist die Steuereinrichtung dazu eingerichtet, die Strahlablenkeinrichtung zwecks Bildung des Streifens so zu steuern, dass der Auftreffpunkt Stellen innerhalb der jeweiligen Streifenbildungsspur auf der betreffenden Schicht wiederholt überstreicht.there the control device is adapted to the beam deflection device so as to control the formation of the strip so that the point of impact within the respective banding track on the subject Repeatedly repaint layer.
According to one embodiment of the device according to the invention, the control device is adapted to the beam deflection device to control the formation of the strip so that the motion component of the beam impingement point moving forward and backward in the strip longitudinal direction is superimposed, at least in sections, on a component of the beam impingement point that travels transversely to the strip longitudinal direction within the strip formation track. In this case, the beam guide z. B. be organized so that the impact point in the respective longitudinal backward movement steps covers at least half the distance of the immediately preceding Vorwärtsbewegungsschritte.
The step lengths and the step length ratio between Next step and backward step can optionally set and changed.
