Description
The invention relates to a method for cutting a laminated composite element, in particular a laminated glass element, which is formed from a number of structural elements, in particular glass elements, and at least one polymer film. It also relates to a cutting system for carrying out the method.
Laminated composite elements, in particular laminated glass layers or laminated glass systems, are intended and suitable for a large number of applications. Such a laminated glass element is usually composed of a number of glass elements and one or more polymer films, it being possible for the polymer film to be arranged, for example, in the manner of a sandwich construction between two glass elements. The glass elements can be contoured, curved or curved, designed as an armored glass element or preferably also as flat glass elements. Such laminated glass systems or laminated glasses are used, for example, as safety glasses. In general, such laminates based on glass or also on the basis of glass-like crystals or ceramics are suitable as prefabricated starting products for industrial mass production in many fields of application.
In these known methods, however, particularly with regard to the number of required method steps and their conceptual difference from one another, the method is comparatively complex, and systematic integration of the method steps or complete automation is not possible or is possible only to a limited extent.
The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a method of the type mentioned above which, with high reliability, enables a particularly simple process sequence and allows automation to a particularly large extent. Furthermore, a cutting system that is particularly suitable for carrying out the method is to be specified.
With regard to the method, this object is achieved according to the invention by creating a perforation in the glass element or elements by means of a laser along an intended cutting line and then severing the polymer film along the cutting line by means of a laser, the evaporation residues resulting from the laser cutting of the polymer film using an assigned suction device be sucked off.
The invention is based on the consideration that a particularly efficient and inexpensive process control can be achieved by designing the cutting process to be largely automated. In this respect, the known methods are considered to be particularly problematic in that after the glass elements are usually broken as the first method step, the film is still intact and then has to be separated separately. For this, access to the film must be provided, which requires a separation and subsequent repositioning of the fragments of the glass elements. However, the precision of the alignment determines the offset of the glass plates in the bond with one another and thus the overall accuracy of the components. Manual handling can therefore be disadvantageous.
In order to be able to overcome this requirement, it is now provided that the film is still separated in a position within the unbroken glass elements by means of a suitable separation step using a laser. This can be made possible on the condition that the evaporation or decomposition products produced during the laser separation of the polymer film can be removed in a suitable and trouble-free manner from the position embedded between the glass elements. In order to make this possible, a perforation, that is to say a sequence of adjacent through holes, is produced in the glass element (s) in the first method step along the intended cutting line. These allow the evaporation residues or gases to escape without interference, without having to separate the glass elements into individual fragments that are to be positioned with respect to one another. In particular, the perforation in the glass elements should be created in such a way that the perforation holes are continuous, that is to say “open-pore”, so that gas exchange between the interior and the exterior of the glass element is made possible. The filaments produced to form the perforation in the vitreous bodies are thus preferred Openings on the top and bottom of each glass element.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
In order to ensure reliable evacuation of the evaporation residues or gases without impairing the other process control, a process-related suction of the evaporation residues is provided in a particularly preferred embodiment.
In a further or alternative advantageous development, the perforation, as described above, is at least partially designed as an open-pore and thus gas-permeable perforation. The filaments can in principle be designed in different ways, since the control of the laser parameters in the corresponding material allows the filament shape to be influenced. The filaments can be made uniform on the one hand; in this case they serve both for suction and as a break perforation line.
Alternatively, on the other hand, the filaments can also be optimized specifically for the breaking process. In this case, they may not have to be open-pore, or their diameter may be selected independently of the suction. In this case, further filaments that are optimized for suction are preferably provided in the manner of a further group. These are then gas-permeable and are preferably designed with a reduced resistance to gas flows, enlarged diameter. With such a combination of filaments of two filament groups, these can be combined in any number and sequence, for example 100 broken filaments and one suction filament. The different filaments can be produced in two process steps if necessary. Such filaments, which are provided as additional suction openings in the glass, that is to say openings in the glass surface, which are attached at appropriate positions in the subsequent course of the fracture for suctioning off the film vapors, are considered to be independent inventive.
In order to avoid the positioning of the fragments relative to one another, which complicates the overall process control, the glass elements provided with the perforation are advantageously broken along the cutting line only during or after the laser cutting of the polymer film. The glasses can be broken along the perforation lines by conventional methods after separating the polymer film, preferably by using a laser matched to the glass, preferably a CO 2 laser, or alternatively also together with cutting or separating the film.
In a particularly advantageous development, the suction of the evaporation residues is designed as required and closely coordinated with the actual process control. For this purpose, the suction device is advantageously moved along with the laser beam along the cutting line during laser cutting of the polymer film, so that it can be designed to be comparatively small in terms of its dimensions and also its operational parameters, for example the suction power.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the glass element is processed only from one side (advantageously: top side). This results in a firmly defined processing sequence for the separation process as a whole. The mechanical engineering and control engineering effort is thus kept very low, so that low acquisition and handling costs can be achieved. In comparison, conventional cutting processing variants either cut from both sides (at the same time the upper glass pane on the surface and the lower glass pane on the lower surface), or it is only cut from the upper side. In the first case, the cutting geometries are restricted because the cutting process must remain free from the substrate support (cutting table). This means that straight cuts can usually be implemented. The process is comparatively precise, but requires almost twice the design effort for two cutting guides. In the second variant, the laminated glass must be rotated by 180 ° so that after the first surface the lower glass side can be reached for processing. This means increased handling effort and costs, and position detection must also be present in order to align the second cut with the first.
Regarding the cutting system for cutting from a number of glass elements and At least one laminated glass element formed from polymer film is achieved with a perforation laser and with a separating laser provided for separating the film, which can be guided along an intended cutting line via an assigned control device on the glass element or elements.
Advantageously, the cutting system further comprises a suction device assigned to the separating laser for the evaporation residues that arise during laser cutting of the polymer film.
In an advantageous embodiment, the suction opening of the suction device can be moved in accordance with the movement of the laser beam of the separating laser. In an additional or alternative advantageous development, the perforation laser is designed as a short-pulse laser.
The concept according to the invention can also be used in multi-layer composite systems, that is to say in systems with more than one film and more than two glass plates, in a particularly preferred manner and in a configuration which is regarded as being independently inventive. Multiple composite systems cannot be cut in the classic way. For this reason, it is usually a matter of component dimensions close to the final dimensions, which are then reworked. By using the concept according to the invention, on the other hand, a gradual separation of each glass-film combination is possible in particular, the suction being carried out via the glasses which have already been filamented and possibly not yet separated. The filaments of the individual layers are preferably slightly offset from one another (laterally or in the direction of perforation) so that processing of the “middle” and “lower” layers is possible in a particularly simple manner. A different trigger for the refraction process than a CO 2 laser could possibly be used for the middle and lower glasses.
The advantages achieved with the invention consist in particular in the fact that the provision of the perforation in the glass element or glass elements along the desired cutting line in the respective glass substrate, which is provided in the manner of a first processing step, produces discharge channels without, however, breaking the glass substrates as a whole would. The evacuation channels produced in this way allow the evaporation residues or gases produced during the subsequent laser cutting or cutting of the polymer film to be removed without the need for positioning fragments relative to one another for subsequent processing steps. This means that the process of laser cutting laminated glasses can be fully automated. In addition, no boundary conditions necessary for the process of the contour of the cut, such as a continuous cut starting at the edge, have to be observed, so that the type and variety of possible cut contours is significantly expanded compared to conventional cutting processes.
