Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Pumpe, insbesondere eine Kühlmittelpumpe in einem Kraftfahrzeug, mit einem auf einer Pumpenwelle angeordneten Laufrad.The present invention relates to a pump, in particular a coolant pump in a motor vehicle, with an impeller arranged on a pump shaft.
Kühlmittelpumpen dienen in Kraftfahrzeugen üblicherweise der Steuerung eines Kühlmittelstroms zur Kühlung eines Verbrennungsmotors, wobei die Förderrate derartiger Kühlmittelpumpen in Abhängigkeit des Kühlbedarfs geregelt wird. So ist insbesondere während einer Kaltstartphase des Verbrennungsmotors eine Kühlung nicht nur nicht erforderlich, sondern sogar unerwünscht, da sie die Kaltstartphase verlängert und dadurch einen erhöhten Kraftstoffverbrauch sowie erhöhte Schadstoffemissionen erzeugt. Eine Regelung bzw. Die vorliegende Erfindung beruht auf dem allgemeinen Gedanken, bei einer Pumpe, insbesondere bei einer Kühlmittelpumpe in einem Kraftfahrzeug, mit einem auf einer Pumpenwelle angeordneten Laufrad, einen verstellbaren Schieber vorzusehen, der über das Laufrad verschoben werden kann und dadurch eine Förderrate der Pumpe regelt. Erfindungsgemäß ist nun zum Verstellen des Schiebers ein beheizbares Wachs-Dehnelement bzw. ein hydraulisches Stellelement vorgesehen, welches den Schieber direkt oder indirekt über einen Scherenmechanismus verstellt. Das Einsetzen des Scherenmechanismus, der von einem Wachs-Dehnelement betätigt wird, ermöglicht eine konstante Kraftübertragung sowie eine möglicherweise gewünschte Übersetzung, die abhängig von der Länge der einzelnen Scherenschenkel ist. Über ein erfindungsgemäß vorgesehenes Wachs-Dehnelement ist somit eine temperaturabhängige, jedoch von einer weiteren Stelleinrichtung autarke Verstellung des Schiebers möglich. In der Kaltstartphase der Brennkraftmaschine wird das Wachs-Dehnelement bestromt und dadurch aktiviert, worauf hin es den Schieber über das Laufrad verstellt und dadurch den Förderstrom der Pumpe reduziert. Hat die Brennkraftmaschine ihre Betriebstemperatur erreicht, so wird das Wachs-Dehnelement wieder stromlos geschaltet und kühlt dadurch ab, woraufhin sich der Schieber vom Laufrad abzieht und die Förderleistung der Pumpe erhöht. Hierdurch kann zudem eine failsafe-Funktion realisiert werden. Alternativ hierzu kann ein hydraulisches Stellelement zum Betätigen des Scherenmechanismus vorgesehen werden, welches die gesamten Vorteile des Scherenmechanismus ebenfalls beinhaltet, jedoch im Unterschied zum Wachs-Dehnelement hydraulisch betrieben wird. Selbstverständlich kann das hydraulische Stellelement auch zum direkten Betätigen des Schiebers eingesetzt werden. Auch bei dem hydraulischen Stellelement als Steller gilt, dass dieses in stromlosem Zustand den Schieber vom Laufrad abzieht, so dass auch bei dessen Ausfall stets eine ausreichende Kühlung gewährleistet werden kann.The present invention is based on the general idea, in a pump, in particular in a coolant pump in a motor vehicle, with an impeller arranged on a pump shaft to provide an adjustable slide which can be moved over the impeller and thereby regulates a delivery rate of the pump. In the cold start phase of the internal combustion engine, the wax-stretching element is energized and thereby activated, whereupon it adjusts the slide on the impeller and thereby reduces the flow rate of the pump. If the internal combustion engine has reached its operating temperature, the wax-stretching element is switched to de-energized and thereby cools, whereupon the slide pulls off the impeller and increases the flow rate of the pump. This also allows a failsafe function can be realized. Alternatively, a hydraulic actuator may be provided to actuate the scissor mechanism, which also incorporates the full benefits of the scissor mechanism, but which operates hydraulically unlike the wax expander. Allen Ausführungsformen ist dabei gemein, dass der axial verstellbare Schieber, der zur Regulierung der Förderleistung über das Laufrad der Pumpe geschoben werden kann, regelungstechnisch deutlich einfacher zu Realisieren ist, als eine elektrische Steuerung zum Steuern der elektrischen Antriebsleistung der Pumpe.
