Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a hearing aid for classifying a microphone signal as a microphone signal with wind noise or as a microphone signal without wind noise. The method and the hearing aid are preferably used for detecting disturbing wind noise. The method and the hearing aid can distinguish a microphone signal with a wind noise from a microphone signal without a wind noise.
The microphones used in hearing aids are usually positioned in an exposed position to ensure optimal sound pickup. As a result, the microphones are susceptible to wind noise, which are perceived by a hearing aid wearer as disturbing, low-frequency rumble. A conversation in such an acoustic situation is made more difficult.
To solve this problem, an attempt is made to mechanically prevent the wind from hitting the sound membrane of the microphone. As a rule, so-called "jets" are used on the carrying hooks of behind-the-ear hearing aids as wind extraction. Using mesh screens or filter elements over the inlet openings of the microphones prevents turbulence of the air on the microphone membrane in both behind-the-ear and in-the-ear hearing aids.
The low-frequency, wind-generated rumble can also be suppressed electronically in the hearing aid. This is the switching from a multi-microphone operation on a Omni operation and a significant reduction in hearing aid gain in the lower frequency channels is common.
To purposefully and successfully suppress wind noise in a microphone signal of a hearing aid electronically, a precise detection of this is required. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a method and a hearing aid for error-free detection of wind noise in a microphone signal.
According to the invention, the stated object is achieved with the method and the hearing device of the independent claims.
Einteilung in zwei Klassen.
- Detection of predefinable features in the microphone signal, the characteristics being characteristic of wind noise or else indicative of signals without wind noise,
- Determining feature values associated with the features, which may indicate, for example, a frequency, an absolute value or a slope, and
- Classifying the microphone signal as a microphone signal with wind noise or as a microphone signal without wind noise on the basis of the determined characteristic values and an advance knowledge stored in the hearing device. The prior knowledge is obtained from reference signals with wind noise and / or no wind noise. For example, the prior knowledge may include empirical information about the features.
In a development, the reference signals may include microphone signals of a reference hearing device. For example, reference recordings in wind with the reference hearing aid record microphone signals with wind noise.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the features may include low-frequency powers and / or a temporal variance of these powers. By a clever choice of features, the process is very robust and reliable.
The prior knowledge may preferably comprise empirically determined probability distributions of the features. The advantage of this is that classification can be based on a statistical evaluation.
Furthermore, the classification may be performed with a statistical estimation method or with another statistical classifier, e.g. With a neural network. The advantage of this is that known and proven algorithms can be applied.
In a further development, wind noise suppression of the microphone signal can be controlled by the result of the classification. As a result, a disturbing wind noise in a receiver signal formed from the microphone signal can be effectively suppressed.
The invention also provides a hearing aid. It comprises a feature recognition unit which recognizes predefinable features in the microphone signal and determines the feature values associated with the features. The hearing aid further comprises a classification unit classifying the microphone signal as a wind noise microphone signal or as a windless noise microphone signal. The classification takes place on the basis of a prior knowledge obtained from reference signals with wind noise and / or without wind noise and on the basis of the determined characteristic values.
In a development, the classification unit can have a statistical estimation algorithm, for example a Bayes classifier, or a neural network.
In a further embodiment, the hearing aid may comprise a wind noise suppression unit, which is controlled by the classification result of the classification unit.
Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following explanations of several embodiments with reference to schematic drawings.

The classification may include the use of a neural network or may be done by a statistical estimation method.
Für die Wahrscheinlichkeit P(WIND/MS) gilt nach dem Theorem von Bayes For the probability P (WIND / MS) holds after the theorem of Bayes
However, the probability P (MS) that a certain microphone signal MS occurs can not be estimated. As a rule, each microphone signal MS occurs only once. Therefore, a quotient Q is formed as follows: where is true
